Greatest car buying experience ever! 4/9/2012

I went to Toyota 101 with the intention of leasing a brand new Prius V. I was intrigued by the no-commission sales team and was so utterly thrilled with the way I was treated from beginning to end, I have recommended the dealership to all my friends and family. I worked with Rob and was so impressed with his professionalism and knowledge. It was truly the most pleasant car buying experience I've ever had. A couple days after the purchase, Rob called me to make sure I was completely satisfied and told me if I ever have any questions to give him or one of his colleagues a call. I did have a question about the car's nav system and computer and Rob invited me back into the dealership and walked me through my questions. GREAT SERVICE! If you're looking to buy a Toyota, you should definitely go to Toyota 101. I live in Oakland and the experience was so positive, I'd make the drive again. more

Salesmen Discriminate Against Women 2/10/2011

The salesmen at this Stealership are horrible. I was in the market for a Minivan and the horrible man would not even talk to me. He insisted on only speaking and directing all of his questions towards my husband. This car is for me and my husband even told him so. I was looking for a new business vehicle that would double as family transportation. I was so tired of being ignored, that I ended up going across the street to Lexus. I ended up driving off with a new GX 470. The salesman at Putnam Lexus was stellar. more

Very unsatisfactory service department 10/21/2010

I wish I could give zero stars. I am so disappointed in Toyota 101 Service Department. I have a new Toyota (purchased at Toyota 101) and the air tire pressure warning light has come on twice. The first time, I was told by Toyota 101 (after being assured that the tire was completely checked) that nothing was wrong with the tire. The tire pressure warning light came on again (same tire was low) and since I was near Toyota 101, took the car in to be checked. I was told that there was a nail in the sidewall of the tire and the tire could NOT be repaired and that I would have to buy a new tire. The price for the new tire was quoted as $230.00. When I questioned the price of the tire, I was told it is a special tire made for the Prius. Because the dealership did not have the tire in stock, I went home without a new tire and air in the tire with the slow leak so it was safe to drive. The next morning I took the car into Redwood General Tire in Redwood City. The nail was taken out of the tire and the tire was repaired. I drove away with the tire fixed and a $32.00 charge for the repair. Redwood General Tire is wonderful!! I have been a customer there for years and have always received honest and good service. more

Abysmal Service Department, Decent Carwash 11/9/2009

Beware of having your vehicle serviced at Toyota 101!!! I received a call from the service department indicating my repair was complete. Upon inspection it was immediately clear that the repair had not been performed correctly, and that the underlying problem had not been resolved. I had to wait several additional hours beyond the promised time of completion for the repair to be re-done correctly. It is unconscionable after I paid $1000 that the service department would claim the repair had been completed when it had not been done. I have previously been hassled at Toyota 101 with delays as the mechanics are lax about filling out paperwork. Pros: car wash Cons: shoddy repairs, long waits more

Not the usual pressure tactics 8/17/2009

This is an older facility, so it's tight. I was given time to look at the cars without pressure, and negotiations were painless. I think the fact that the salespeople are on a salary helps them be more civilized and less pushy. I like it. Pros: Easy buying process Cons: Crowded at times more
