This is a wonderful animal hospital. The people who work there are very helpful and friendly. The doctor was really nice and I felt explained my cat's health problem in a way I could understand and I didn't feel like my pocketbook had been emptied. Their prices are much better than what I have been paying. I definitely recommend taking your animals to these guys. more

Yes!! it is helpful and let me explain why.\r I felt certain and very uncomfortable that I deeply suspicioned that my dogs teeth were not really cleaned although I paid BIG bucks for the\r procedure. Both of my dogs had cancer and they knew it. It would make sense and logically follow then that they assumed that they were going to die anyway why bother with cleaning their teeth. \r I have had nightmares, so to speak, because when I had my dog put to sleep six months later with another vet; I looked in my dog's mouth after the injection was given, and he had a large white abscess on his upper gum with a very large red area. I have felt so ashamed of myself and blamed myself. His breath was bad for a few weeks and I thought that it was from the cancer. Also my other dog was also sick at the same time and I really dropped the ball with that. His lab work was elevated and it could have from dental disease. I hate myself for being so gullible and stupid, a sucker for Dr. Airhart. I think that they both died with dental disease. I am so ashamed of myself. I had been taking my dogs to him for about ten years. I had trusted him and also believed that he liked my dogs, although he told me about 5 times over the years that I should get a Doberman because that kind of dog would be less hairy.\r I wanted to go back to the office and ask that they look in the records and tell me who cleaned their teeth and confront the person face to face, but I am I suppose too much of a chicken to do so. I can just imagine the comments that I would face. Just better for me to take responsibility with the history. \r Oddly enough, the last year I noticed the Dr. Airhart told me something a time or two and then contradicted himself later. I became suspicious with that behavior and then at that time called Austin Veterinary Board. The lady that I talked to e-mailed me a list of the complaints and the fines that he has paid over the years. I felt numb. \r Thank you for listening. more

I'm submitting this review in order to clear my conscious of what I witnessed more times than I can count. Suffice it to say that he is a good man with good intentions whose staff and himself need to retire. Among the most disturbing elements I could list is the 100 percent death rate among young, beautiful puppies who present with the parvo virus. They are never given fluids, sometimes forgotten about for hours in the back cages and the ""nurses"" simply dismiss them as ""dead anyway"". No attention nor proper nursing is given except unless someone reminds the Dr. or ""techs"" to actually do their jobs.\r Do yourself and your pet a favor and go to any other vet. The comical addition to all this is that they consider themselves a ""low cost clinic"". Take a look at many of their estimates, let alone what they charge for a simple exam. Most Vets charge between 39.00 to 73.00 (a specialist mind you). more

Please read his citations with the veterinary board of Austin.\r I became suspicious of his qualifications and behavior only after years of going relying on his care of my beloved animals. Also there is something wrong with or about his wife / office manager Jenna. I am not sure exactly, but I think maybe it is greed, do not know but there is something about her and him too now days. I took my dogs to have their teeth cleaned but I do not think that they really did it. There are numerous things that I should have been more aware of over years, but I did not know better. I am so sorry now.\r I hope that he and she both will be humiliated and suffer with loss of income. more

Great experience for me 2/12/2015

Highly recommend this animal clinic. Very nice doctor and staff. Helped me through a really rough time with my dog. They seemed to genuinely care and called me to check to see how my dog was doing a week later. The clinic was very clean and in a convenient location off 635. My dog is now well and back to her playful self. more

Heartfelt note from a client 12/22/2014

'Heartfelt note from a client'\r I wanted to take a minute to share a heartfelt note from one of our clients who went through a rough time with their cherished pet Rocky. We appreciate all of our clients and want to thank you for the opportunity to care for your pets. \r Here it is: \r I just wanted to send a thank you for everyone's compassion and concern for our dog Rocky the past couple of weeks while he was sick. Everyone from the front desk to Dr. Airhart were truly the best and made us feel the best they could. We brought him in yesterday to put him down and Dr. Airhart was fantastic and showed compassion and that helped us know we have been using the right doctor for the past several years, that he truly does care for his patients. He was terrific yesterday amongst me and my wife crying like babies as we said goodbye to our Rocky. Thank you again for everything Dr Airhart. Sincerely Pat Crumpton more

Highly recommended clinic 2/12/2014

I have been taking my pets to Dr. Airhart for 18 years. Dr. Airhart is the most upstanding veterinarian that I have ever seen. He is honest, very nice and I have total confidence in what he says. His prices are lower than several veterinarians in the area. This is the cleanest clinic that I have ever been in and the waiting room is beautiful with all the stained glass. To top it off, my dog Layla loves the treats she gets from the staff. I highly recommend Town East Animal Hospital. more

I love my Veterinarian!! 1/22/2014

This is a fantastic animal clinic. We have been taking our pets to Dr. Airhart for 20+ years. His technician's are very nice and they love our pets like they were theirs. We always get the information that we need and it is explained to us where we can understand. Thank you Dr. Airhart for always being there when we need you and taking such great care of our pets (and we have had many!).\r We love you!!!! more

In response to John W., this client owed a moderate balance since February 2013. He would not respond to phone calls or reminders. He always received courteous treatment. more

The WORST place in Mesquite! \r I have 3 dogs and a cat. I told my new Doberman puppy into the vet to get her shots and to have her ears cropped. I had used the vet before and was pleased with his treatment to my dogs and to me. The office staff is a different story. Jackie in the front is a B*&^% and needs a job that does not deal with the public. I have been there twice and both times she treated me like crap. I when in and got the yearly shots and had the puppy checked. It want bad, it was only $138.00. I paid $100.00 on it right then and I was supposed to pay the balance of $38.00 on Friday. I called the next 3 days in a row and wanted to pay my bill and could not get someone to take my payment. I was told that Jackie was out of the office and the she would return my call. When she returned my call, it was rude and hateful. She was not a nice person at all. I finally was able to get a hold of her and told her that I had tried to call her three times to pay my bill and she was giving me attitude because my bill was not paid. I told her that I tried to pay my bill 3 times and that no one there could help me at all. She still wanted to chastise me about my bill not being paid that she tried to run the credit card on file and it was declined. I told her that is the reason that I had been calling her. I need to give her a different account because my insurance went through early because of the Thanksgiving holiday. She was still talking down to me because the card was declined. I told her that I called her the very next day and told her to go ahead and run the payment. That did not matter. This place seems clean and nice but some of the people that work there do not need to be there. They are ruining the practice and hurting it's reputation. Sad place. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS THERE!!! more

My dog was hit by a car and I took her in right after this clinic had closed. They rushed me in and immediately started working on her. They did xrays and found she had a badly fractured leg. Dr. Airhart performed extensive surgery on her and she is now happy and bounding around the yard. Thank you for being there for us when we needed help so badly. more

Great Vet 4/10/2013

Lower prices than several clinics in the area. Clinic is clean and staff is really friendly. They gave my little girl a balloon and showed her the birds that live there. It was like a field trip for her.\r The doctor is very nice and went over what all we need to keep our 7 puppies healthy. I urge everyone to go to this clinic if you are looking for a veterinarian. more

Everyone who loves their pet should come here!!!! 12/22/2012

My cat was very sick and dying. We took her here and the Dr gave her medicine and shots. We took her home and by the next morning, she was so much better. She was back to her normal self by the second day. I am so thankful and grateful!! Go to this vet if you love your pet, he is the BEST ever! more

Best Veterinarian EVER!! 10/10/2012

My entire family has been going to Dr. Airhart since 1980 and we love him! He is very nice and honest. He takes time to talk with his clients and get to know them on a professional and personal basis. He is on the Board of Directors for the Texas Veterinary Medical Association and his name was published in the AVMA Medical Journal as one of the TOP THREE doctors having the MOST CE classes out of hundreds of veterinarians. We have complete confidence in him and speak from YEARS of experience going to him with our pets. more
