The Scene The idea-makers behind The Brillo have upgraded location and ambiance but remained loyal. Come for an intimate dinner of basil oil mussles meuniere, black-bean quesadillas, crabcakes or hazelnut-crusted walleye; sip a bomb martini and chat with an Indian doctor or a lawyer for the Coast Guard. The stream of techo-color boxes that read like Braille across the walls (by local artist Mark McLeeson) is a conversation piece in itself. The basement is pre-beatnik in decor, full of brick and secular lighting. The staff is reminiscent of characters from PBS' "Electric Company"; Kent at the door has the city's best vintage wardrobe and Eric still can pull off scarves. You'd Be Like Heaven To Touch Touch is exactly what the West Side needs: a unity point for dinner, dancing and stimulating conversation. Friday night is when it happens, but the club's weekly entertainment offerings are on the move. The staff is too creative to not continually bring in eclectic events.
