I've eaten at a number of Thai restaurants in New York (and, before moving here, in LA, San Francisco Seattle, etc.). Toons is one of the best I've been to. Pros: tasty more

Toon's used to be my favorite thai restaurant, until the last couple of visits. Went there this pass weekend with 4 of my friends to celebrate my birthday. We were seated at 7:30 PM. It was a struggle to get someone to acknowledge us. The whole dinner lasted until 10:10 pm!!!!! Uncalled for. The appetizers and entrees didn't come all out at the same time, people in our party had to wait until we all got our food. Making our food cold until everyone got their dinner. When we complained we just got a bow and a big sorry. Who seems to be the manager just parades around and sits with her regular customers and doesn't care what is going on in her restaurant. When we finally got our food the check was placed on the table while we were still eating, didn't offer if we wanted coffee or dessert! To top it all off they added a 20% tip to our check!!!!! They need to revamp their management!!! Until then I will not be returning. Pros: Food Cons: SERVICE AND BAD MANAGEMENT more

Pretty tasty Thai food, maybe a little on pricey side. This would be a good restaurant for a date - the dining room is gorgeous. Modern, and very chic. It's a very hip location as well - Bleecker Street, near all the high end shopping, Magnolia Bakery, etc... The space is a corner unit with giant windows looking out onto a park. As far as delivery goes, however, there are better options. Isle, for example - further east on Bleecker Street - is tastier and slightly cheaper, hence better for delivery. Average to good Thai food, but terrible delivery. I've waited over one hour for food. They were very abrupt with me when I called and actually claimed the food was late because they were out of rice. A Thai restaurant out of rice during dinner? The food arrived 20 minutes after I called, cold and soggy. more

There are many Thai places in the city but so far Toons is #1. Their pad penang is delicious and everything else is fantastic. The price is reasonable although the service is poor. Pros: Amazing food, Good price, Nice ambient more

Toons has recently been redone, so it's now a very attractive space. The food's as good as ever. In an area sadly lacking in decent Thai food, this is one of the best spots. more

For authentic Thai food, look no further than Toons. Ive been to many Thai restaurants in Manhattan before, and Toons is by far the best Thai food Ive had (except for my mom's of course). Try the Pad Thai, or sample anything on the appetizer menu...they're all delicious. more
