We really wanted some Italian food and I remembered this place from when I was a child. My parents took me there a lot. We decided to try it. The decor is literally the same as when I was a child. We were able to get seated right away. It took us a bit to get situated since we had 2 kids in highchairs, and before we had a chance to look at the menus we were asked if we were ready to order. I asked for a few more minutes to look over the menu. The server sat in a booth with some other patrons and visited with them. When we were ready to order I tried to get her attention, but she just kept laughing with the other patrons. When she finally did take our order, she acted as though we were taking too long. She made it seem like we were inconveniencing her by wanting to order dinner. Also while she was taking our order, my 1 year old was holding a menu and she yanked the menu from his hand. I was shocked. He started crying and the server sighed heavily. Pros: Quick seating, quick food delivery Cons: Mediocre food, ignored by staff, server rude to my children more

Tony's Villa Capri is very consistent in the quality of their food. His servers have been there for years and give great service and the food is excellent. Pizza is a wonderful crispy crust with generous toppings and not greasy. Chicken Parmesan is something that my husband always gets and loves. The sauce is great and don't miss the Italian dressing that they make themselves. It is a sweet basil Italian that you always see people dipping their bread in because they want to get every drop! Another favorite of mine is eggplant parmesan special that is great breaded eggplant layered with their special Italian red sauce and mozerella cheese. it is not a fancy place but if you want good food and dont mind the no frills decor then check this out! I have been going to the Villa Capri for 30 years. Love the food. I like all of it but I usually end up with the veal parm or the Italian steak. For years that was the only place my husband would go. It took two years to eat any Italian again but now I'm back at Villa Capri. I think they are so much better than Olive Garden. I love their salad dressing and warm bread they bring right after you order. They are an Overland Park landmark. It would be ashame if they would ever close. I recently stopped by this place because I was craving some Italian. I seen it for years and decided finally to try it. I had 3 bites. The sauce was very bland, my meal didn't have any flavor! I told my server who got her boss, when I explained she went on about how they make their sauce fresh every morning and have been in business for 45 years and haven't had a complaint. All of that is beside the point, I hardly ate it, I didn't like it, I didn't think I should have to pay for something I didn't have. She said I can't just not pay for it just because I don't like it, if it was bad than that would be different. My question is what constitutes bad then? She suggested I could try something else, most of what was on the menu had the same bland sauce. She got the owner who just got defensive about his food and his business and laughed and made fun of me for not liking it! I was terribly offended. I told the boss woman how I felt he was unprofessional and she replied with ""well, how else is he suppose to respond?"" I would never suggest this place to anyone, I'm horribly disappointed to find what seems to be becoming common practice of rude, unprofessional ism in businesses these days. They acted like I was just trying to get free food! This restaurant doesn't vary from day to day or year to year. The food is good but not great. The pizza is probably their best selection, with their spaghetti sauce next.
