the prices stayed the same.. but the portions went down. Pros: great taste- portions went down - recession? Cons: 5 almonds now versus 25 a year ago

Good lunch spot 3/30/2006

Tin Drum Asia Cafe features asian fusion cuisine. Lunch time usually means a crowd to order food at the counter. Prices are pretty reasonable and the food is pretty good. The dining area is a bit small and a little cramped but that's no reason not to try this place. The hand rolls and Japanese curry catsu are some of the best menu items. Parking can be tough on the street but there is a cheap parking deck across from the Barnes and Noble attached to the Georgia Tech hotel. more

fusion food 8/26/2005

frequented by students at georgia tech, tin drum has been a huge success in the midtown community. the restaurant is little and usually crowded, and the fusion food is generally good. the singapore noodles, as well as the tin drum, are crowd favorites. also offer tofu in place of meat. avoid lunch hour- it's usually too crowded to wait in line. more

Overrated 8/24/2005

This place is really popular among Georgia Tech students, but I really don't care for it. I've had real authentic asian food from Chinese to Korean. This place isn't that good in my opinion. One time I had sesame chicken, but it sucked so bad. Their rice sucks too. I've actually gone another time, reluctantly, and got some pad thai. I can't say it was bad, but it wasn't spectacular either. I guess if you're a Tech student, you might as well go cuz it's not too expensive. I'll stick w/ Umezono for Japanese, Seoul Garden for Korean, and even Panda Express for Japanese. You have to admit Panda Express is the best Chinese mall food that even beats some restaurants in my opinion. more

Tin Drum Asia Cafe 8/17/2005

If you like good food, cheap prices, and prompt service, then look no further. Located in Georgia Tech's Technology Square in Midtown, Tin Drum is frequented my students and faculty alike. If you are a student, its location is ideal because it is within walking distance from East Campus. For West Campus folks, just take the Tech Trolley and it will drop you in front of the restaurant. Non students will have trouble looking for parking, but that is the story of any downtown. Luckily, there is a parking deck nested next to the restaurant. The trick is finding it! more
