Horrible, horrible place to take your pets. Please, please go to Yelp and read all 68+ "non recommended" reviews. This place is a scam, ripping people off and using some of the most unethical tactics imaginable. more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE 8/31/2012

The doctor & her office manager are thieves. The prices they charge for unnecessary tests and treatment are rediculous! The doctor will treat you like crap if you don't buy into her story. I've seen how the manager and doctor treat their staff,its horrible. And just a little insight on this vet. Beware of becoming what they call a "Cadillac' more

Reuinted with lost dog, now licensed and legal 8/29/2012

We are new to San Diego. Our dog got out of our yard while we were out of town and didn't know the way home yet. We are lucky someone found her and took her there. They tracked us down from Mackie's microchip, took care of her until we could get home and pick her up. We didn't know we needed a license for our dog here, and they helped us by calling our old vet in North Carolina, getting her rabies information and getting us a license for her. We have dog-proofed our yard, and you bet we are going back there whenever Mackie needs a vet. more

My dogs love it there 8/8/2011

My two dogs are not very good with other people, but the way everyone there is very friendly, they love coming here, and the doctor has not been wrong so far. It is very impressive to me that my dogs love the people here, and I can't think of anything more to ask for in a vet than they give me there. more

Good neighbors 7/15/2011

We just moved here and needed a vet ASAP due to my dog having diarrhea since we moved last week. They got her an appointment the same day I called, and offered me a discount on the office visit charge before I even asked. Very friendly, professional and knew their jobs. Great neighborhood vet! more

Hamsters need doctors too 8/6/2010

When our family's new hamster started acting strange, we took him to see Dr. Luke. Turns out that Joe the hamster was really Joan and was pregnant when we got her. Dr. Luke told us what to expect and what to do when she had her babies - way more than we bargained for when we adopted the hamster, but it sure is a learning experience for the kids! Dr. Luke was great, and everyone there was really nice. If the hamster ever needs a doctor again, we'll be calling them. more

Good hearted vet, all about the pet 8/1/2010

Both my little dog and I are in our old-lady years, and I have avoided taking either of us to the doctor because I don't have insurance any more and couldn't afford it. Medical care is expensive, for people and pets! I was very uncomfortable at first, talking about my financial situation with strangers, but Dr. Luke and her vet tech cared enough about Missy to help me push past my embarrassment and talk it through. Their persistence and single-minded focus on what was best for my Missy helped me see that being low-income didn't have to stop me from getting my little dog the medical attention she needs. When I didn't qualify for the CareCredit, her staff helped me set up a schedule of care that I could save up for. I wish my own doctor would do that when I need lab tests, medications or surgery! This doctor did right by us, and took a lot of their time to help me find a way to help my dog, in the best way I could afford. It wasn't easy for any of us, but you can bet I'll go back there whenever my dog needs care, because they cared enough to work it out with us. more

SO HORRIBLE THEY MAD ME CRY 7/22/2010

I went in for a exam n shots n they came up with 1600$ worth of meds test n random things, she was pushy n made me feel like I should not own a pet.. when I began too cry she said, and I quote "welcome to california" I could not believe it. I was hurt. I will never go there again and will b telling everyone I know not to go there. more

I really like Dr. Luke and all of that is that this that veterinary hospital did for our pets. We love them dearly and they take care of them as if they are their own. I appreciate your compassion for animals. more

WOW SERVICE !!! 6/15/2010

What a fantastic vet hospital. The staff was so informative and helpful. I was able to save my cat from pneumonia without spending a fortune ! Dr. Luke is so caring and knowledgable. She has a true love for the animals, and obviously cares about her clients as well. I will tell all my friends about this vet clinic, and be back often, with all of my animals. A real treasure signed ... animal lover !! more

Thank you Dr. Luke 6/12/2010

I just adopted a cat from Animal Control and my poor baby had a really bad upper respiratory infection. Pneumonia to be exact and Dr. Luke wanted to hospitalize but I couldn't do that so she worked with me and came up with a solution for me to do most of the work to help my new addition to my family. I'm glad to report that my cat is doing much better and I truly thank Dr. Luke and her staff for helping me and my cat. I was going to take my cat back to Animal Control. more

I called and told you my pet was in trouble and you said to come right in. Little did I know that I would have to put my pet down that day. He was too far gone when I got there. I'm so grateful to the Doctor and the staff for all the help and support they gave me during this difficult time. Thank you Dr. Luke and staff for being there for me. more

The WORST and MOST EXPENSIVE vet I've ever used. 1/7/2010

If I could give this vet less than one star, I would. I have owned dogs my entire life and have seen dozens of vets across the nation. This vet office is expensive, pushy, and rude. Every time I go in, the doctor or the staff try to sell treatments and medications that are not needed. I went in for vaccinations once and was given an estimate for over $2000. Another time, I took my dog in for a routine check up. The doctor spotted a tick, which she removed WITHOUT telling me that the tick removal would cost $18. Yes, you read that right: the vet charged me $18 to do something I do on a regular basis. When I complained about it, they basically told me to pound sand. I will NEVER use this vet again and if I were you, I would steer clear. more

Very Nice and Helpful 1/5/2010

My husband and I just adopted a cat from the shelter and I went to see Dr. Luke for my free exam. I found out that my little cat has a cold and needed some antibiotics. She was coughing and sneezing. My husband, my neighbor and myself couldn't get the meds into my precious cat. I called Dr. Luke to find out what else we could try to get the meds into my kitty. The person I talked to suggested many different ways to try but we still couldn't get the meds into her. This woman that I talked to (I think she said her name was Janice) offered to come by and give the meds to my Sally. She not only gave her the medications but she also clipped my cats nails so we wouldn't get scratched anymore. I just wanted to say how impressed we were/are with the service that Dr. Luke and her staff have provided to help Sally recover. more

Too often people will post the negative thoughts about people and businesses. It's very rare that the good is posted. I would like to say that Dr. Luke and her staff are the best. They go the extra mile to make sure my pets are taken care of with compassionate care. My dogs love going to the hospital because the Dr Luke and staff treat them like they are family. I wouldn't trust these positive reviews. They sound just like the arguments that Dr. Luke tried to give me when I confronted her on trying to manipulate me into buying services my dog didn't need. I think she gets on here and gives herself good reviews, and/or has her friends do it... It really is an unethical practice. Dr. Luke should be ashamed of herself. more

I love Tierrasanta Veterinary Hospital 11/25/2009

My experience has been wonderful here at Tierrasanta Vet Hospital. I adopted a cat from the Animal Shelter and he came to the hospital for his free exam and had a very bad upper respiratory infection. Of course they wanted to hospitalize my cat but I just could not afford the cost so they worked out a plan for me to care for the cat at home. It was tough going at first but they were always there to answer my questions and suggest other things I could try. My cat is now eating and gaining weight. I just love the care that they gave my cat and I'm sticking with Dr. Luke and her team. more

Great Vet - Great Staff 10/9/2009

Did you ever feel that you found the right place for your pet? I can! I was lucky to find Dr. Luke and her staff when I had an emergency. My dog had eaten a plant that was burning his mouth. I felt so stupid for having the plant but I didn't know it would harm him. Dr. Luke saw him and got him back on the right track and also educated me on the right plants to have outside where the dogs are. Thank you Dr. Luke for saving my little buddy. more

I want the best for my pet! and got it!! 10/5/2009

My dog was treated like she owned the place. She wasn't cooped up in a cage all day when I boarded her. They took her out to play often. Just like I do at home. When I took her in, they found a broken tooth. They took out that tooth and cleaned her teeth. A week later, (I knew she would need some time to heal. I know I did when I had my tooth out) she was feeling great and eating better than she had in a long time! Good thing the doctor looked in her mouth. more
