I always feel like I’m getting honest service when I visit your shop and always choose Tidwell when I have a major repair to my car. I’d prefer to use Tidwell for all of my car service needs, but sometimes it’s more convenient to work with someone who’s open on Saturdays for regular service needs. If you were open Saturday (and maybe closed Monday), I’d never go anywhere else. Lynne H. more

I take all my cars to Tidwells. By all my cars I mean me and my family's..this is four different cars, and with this many cars there is always something wrong. but lucky for me I've found a place that I can always rely on. I've had many different experiences here and sometimes it takes a little longer than you would like, but thats business right! Every problem is different and it can't always be a quick fix. I recently took my ford there and had everything fixed and ready to go in a reasonable amount of time. I think they recently changed secretaries so I don't know everyone there anymore, but they remain friendly and try their best to work with me in everyway they can! And for all these complainers.. keep in mind that it is a business and there will be unexpected problems, but that's life. But at least here you have a guarantee that they will work with you, do everything they can in their power to make you a happy customer (aside from giving things for free, duh!), and are more than an honest group of people! So stop your complaining because you can't find more trustworthy people! Thank you Tidwell's! more

I have entrusted my auto health to Tidwell's Auto Service for about 10 years and receive the same results each time. I was contacted before service was performed and explained what was needed and approximate cost of the full repair. Without fail, the bill was within reasonable cost to what was mentioned and results have always been acceptable. more

moved from Fort Worth at the beginning of 2008 over to Irving where I currently reside. I started having trouble with my Chevy pick up, it was an early 90's model. The mechanic I used in Fort Worth was just the same company my father always used which was Firestone. I never trusted Firestone so even if it was about a mile from my apartment I wasn't going. I looked online and finally asked a few people I knew if they recommended anyone. I heard a lot of different reponses but I heard Tidwell Auto Service twice. Both individuals I spoke with were very satisfied with the work and said he was a great "Christian" guy. I felt like it was a little out of the way driving up to Plano but I decided I wanted the work done right and by someone I could trust. I got my truck up there and after explaining the symptoms, he told me I would have to leave it there over night and he would have it ready in the morning. I needed the clutch replaced. He quoted me a price and I said it sounded fair and I would like him to fix it. I went home and called a few other shops just to get a price. To my surprise Mr. Tidwell's price was extremely competitive and I don't recall anyone being cheaper. I was pleased with my choice. I recieved a call fairly early the next morning and had my roommate run me up there. Mr. Tidwell was extremely customer oriented and courteous. He explained what he did to the vehicle and backed his work with a one year warranty for the part. I have had no problems with my truck since that day. I continue to recommend people to Tidwell Auto Service because I had a rare wonderful experience with a mechanic shop. I certainly don't look forward to having to go back, but the next time I'm having truck problems you better believe I'll be visiting Tidwell Auto Service. Once again I am pleased with the service I received and the speed of the repairs. The young lady up front was very courteous and not only notified me of what repairs were needed, but also just what those repairs entailed. As a woman who has always decided where to repair our vehicles, I am very impressed with this young lady's knowledge. Please keep up the good work, as it is very refreshing to have women up front who are knowledgeable about car repair and can relay proper information and answer questions. Troy’s crew at Tidwell Auto has taken care of all of the vehicles that I have owned for the last 15 years, from full engine rebuilds to routine monthly oil changes. That’s right; I put 100 miles per day on my vehicle and get the oil changed every month. The Tidwell staff has taken care of all of the makes and models of cars and trucks I have owned. We sent two kids off to college, one to Texas Tech and one to TWU in Denton all of the work needed to keep their cars running safely and dependably was performed at Tidwell Auto. I drove a 1995 Chevy Tahoe for 12 years and put 367,000 miles on it. I never had an engine or transmission problem, with Troy’s folks doing all of the maintenance. They did the brakes 3 or 4 times. They rebuilt the front end twice and replaced the air conditioner. When I look back on the years of dependable transportation from that truck, the cost of vehicle ownership was less than 10 cents per mile. Not sure if you have a great mechanic for your car. But this Garage is unbelievable in Plano….They are honest, they call you back to follow up to be sure everything on your car is running OK. They are clean courteous, they will drive you and pick you up if need be, their prices are reasonable and they offer discounts and free oil changes on Mondays! I have been going to them for 8 months and cannot say enough about them. I have searched high and low and this is by far the best place I have ever been with my car. I would encourage you to try them the next time you need some maintenance done on your vehicle.
