I moved from Fort Worth at the beginning of 2014 over to Irving, where I currently reside. I started having trouble with my early 90s Chevy pickup. I looked online and finally asked a few people I knew if they recommended anyone. I heard a lot of different responses but I heard Tidwell Auto Service twice. Both individuals I spoke with were very satisfied with the work and said he was a great ""Christian"" guy. I felt like it was a little out of the way driving up to Plano, but I decided I wanted the work done right and by someone I could trust. I got my truck up there and after explaining the symptoms, he told me I would have to leave it there overnight and he would have it ready in the morning. I needed the clutch replaced. He quoted me a price, I said it sounded fair, and I would like him to fix it. I went home and called a few other shops just to get a price. To my surprise Mr. Tidwell's price was extremely competitive and I don't recall anyone being cheaper. I was pleased with my choice. I received a call fairly early the next morning, and had my roommate run me up there. Mr. Tidwell was extremely customer oriented and courteous. He explained what he did to the vehicle and backed his work with a one year warranty for the part. I have had no problems with my truck since that day. I continue to recommend people to Tidwell Auto Service because I had a rare wonderful experience with a mechanic shop. I certainly don't look forward to having to go back, but the next time I'm having truck problems you better believe I'll be visiting Tidwell Auto Service. It's pretty rare to get a good honest mechanic. Somewhat of a diamond in the rough. more

Excellent. Honest, friendly, knowledgeable. I took my car there a couple of years ago just because it was convenient, but I've been going back there ever since because they do it right. I've recommended them to friends, and those friends are now regular customers, too. Never had a single problem. Just this morning, I went there because I was blowing antifreeze from the engine compartment. They diagnosed the problem, gave me some options and a recommendation, and fixed it for free. more

Tidwell's auto has offered courteous, quick service to all of our autos over the past year. We purchased a card for a price for discounted oil changes and it was never a problem getting it done in a matter of minutes. They notified me of things that needed to get done for the car, wrote the problem down for me & my husband was able to take care of that problem himself to help us save money. I hope to enjoy Tidwell's continued services in 2016. So much nicer to work with than other larger chains. They drove my car around to me, handed me the keys and said thank you with a smile. I have been going to Tidwell's for years with several differents vehicles. I cant say enough about their honesty and genuine caring for me and my needs for my car. They are always honest and upfront with me and never try to sell me things i dont need. Many times when I just need something checked out they don't even charge me. Tidwell Auto Service is conveniently located on Independence and Parker Rd in Plano. If you give them your email address, they will send you coupons to use for your next servicing. The quality of service and work is great. I asked to speak to one of the mechanics because I needed to ask him what exactly he did to the car. He was not only polite but very qualified and I would definitely go back to get my car serviced by them because of their quality of service and workmanship. more

Troy hope you had a restful vacation. Need to tell you how well Lauren & Mario performed in your absence. A friend of mine(single mom)had her son default on a car loan she had co-signed and the car was in bad shape. Both Lauren & Mario pitched in and got the car in shape to take to Carmax.
