Good, but not excellent... 12/18/2006

I have been to Tiburon on several occasions and have usually been very pleased. I do not agree that it is the ""best in Salt Lake"", but recommend giving it a chance. In about six visits, my wife and I have been pleased with everything except for one fish dish (it was so unimpressive I can't even remember what kind of fish it was) and the duck. The service is typically very good, but there is one waiter who had served us twice who is extremely rude and snooty. The restaraunt was not busy on either occasion, but he acted like we should kiss the ground he walked on any time he graced us with his presence and that he was extremely put out that he had to refill our drinks. On each of these occasions he only had one other table. Also, the atmosphere leaves a little to be desired considering what they are going for with their cuisine. The building is extremely noisy. It seems that you can hear the conversations at the surrounding tables better than the one at your own. Although I think there are better restaraunts in Salt Lake City, I definitely think that Tiburon is worth a try. Pros: Food is usually good, Parking Cons: Ambience, One rude server more

Best in Salt Lake City, Utah 6/27/2006

I have been to this restaurant about 7 times in the last two years and it's always been a dinning delight! The service is wonderful and the food is ""out of this world"". Even though it's a bit pricey, you get your value. Large portions and a menu full of wonderful delights. Would highly recommend! Pros: They have wonderful elk and other types of special meats along with your regular choices. Cons: Small parking lot more

Best restaurant in the South Salt Lake Valley 4/22/2006

Atmosphere, service and cuisine are EXCELLENT every evening at this wonderful establishment. Reservations a must. When the season turns warm request a table outside on the secluded, delightfully landscaped patio - it is an absolute treat. Call ahead to verify when live entertainment is scheduled. Food-wise: excellent appetizers include the scallops and the brie. The dinner salad at Tiburon is always deliciously unique definitely high quality - and the chef changes it with the seasons. Among all the outstanding menu selections for dinner, the elk and the ahi are both superb. The wine list is exquisite. If you are interested in a high-class adult-oriented restaurant in the south valley, then Tiburon is the ONLY place to go. Although the dress code may be casual, their food, atmosphere, and service are all on par with a black tie evening every night - you owe it to yourself to dress accordingly. Pros: High quality, Adult-oriented, Seasonal menu Cons: Live enterainment, is inconsistent more

great food, bad setting and staff 3/19/2006

the food is good, the srvice and setting are not Pros: food, wine, takeout Cons: staff, atmosphere, restrooms more

Great place! 2/23/2005

I loved the food at Tiburon, not to mentioned great service. The halibut and scallops were melt in your mouth good. The only exception was a bite I had of the fettucine with seafood and spicy sausage, I thought it was a little bland. The cheesecake was delicious. Pros: Food, Service, Parking Cons: Chair was crooked more

Better food does not exist 1/10/2003

For two years, I passed by the Tiburon, before realizing its unassuming entrance was a fine dining establishment. Our first meal was the most incredible delectable combination of flavors and textures we have had in Utah. The service was refined, cordial and extremely knowledgable about the limited but varied menu. The scallops melt in your mouth. The unique herbed butter spread is a pleasure in itself. Take your time! And there is live acoustice music on Wed. and Thurs. that make the moment more intimate. A great place for lovers, romance, and a chat with the talented chef who outdoes every well crafted appetizer, entree and dessert. Our favorites are the mussles, crab cakes, elk, and candied walnuts in the house salad. Wow! Pros: excellent food, supurb service, easy access more

everything was fantastic 10/28/2002

My wife and I went to dinner with some friends the other night and I had not personally heard much about Tiburon. Everything was first rate!! I ordered the Elk tenderloin with mushroom duxcel and garlic mashed potatoes and my wife had Swordfish picatta (one of the specials). Our meals included and salad and sorbet. The salad was tossed greans with a walla walla onion and celery sead viagrette. It was the best meal I have ever had in Utah and rivals restaurants anywhere in the country. The presentations were absolutely beautiful. I wanted to take pictures, but couldn't stop eating because everything was so delicious. This restaurant is a real gem and I am excited to go back. For anyone who likes very interesting food that taste great, Tiburon is a must. Pros: food quality/taste, presentation, service Cons: location more

Get a door, Please 9/15/2002

Dined at Tiburon last night for the first time. The foos was spectacular!!! This chef deserves doors to seperate the dining room from the dishpit. Throughout the entire meal I was able to hear reach-in doors closing, silverware rattling into a dish rack and someone getting ice from the ice bin then slamming the lid closed. I would love to go back because of the food. However, don't feel comfortable listening to the kitchen noises and dealing with very impersonal, clinical service. I WOULD ignore the service if they got a door. more

Eat Here, It's Worth It! 7/9/2002

This is one on the best restaurants in the SL valley. The quality, freshness and creativity of the menu is wonderful. Even though the prices aren't cheap, it is well worth the cost. You need to eat here for a great experiance. more

Great Restaurant Find! 6/2/2002

The food at Tiburon is absolutely wonderful. Every ingredient is obviously very fresh and high quality. The creative preparation and presentation adds to the quality of the meals. The hazelnut crusted halibut and the elk were both delicious. The service was also exceptional, our waiter knew the menu extensively and could explain how items were prepared. It was a delightful dining experience! The noise level in the restaurant however, should be improved upon. I could hear the group four tables over better than I could hear my partner across the table we shared. Pros: fresh, fresh food!, preparation creative, presentation colorful Cons: noise level, tables to close, no ambience more
