Unprofessional at cake tasting 7/17/2011

I went to Three Brothers Bakery to have a cake tasting for my wedding. When I showed my idea for the wedding cake (which was very simple), the woman I met with told me she couldn't do it. I had already met with two other vendors who had told me my cake would be no problem. Instead of listing my options to try to make my cake work, she gave a full explanation of their cake creating process just to show why she wouldn't do my cake the way I wanted. In addition, she asked about where else I had been and how much they quoted for the cake, which I found very unprofessional. She even told me to check up on the cake sizes at the other vendors, because they might be skimping on the cake to make a good price. In the end, she actually told me to go with another vendor, because they were offering a lower price and no delivery fee. It was obvious that since I came own with my own idea and opinion, she was not not willing to work with me to make the cake I wanted. As for the cake tasting, I would give the cake a 3 out of 5. more

Birthday party heroes 5/20/2011

There was a big mix up in the date for 4 cakes and several cupcakes, but TBB never missed a beat. My heart sank, but TBB made my worries disappear. They delivered the 4 cakes and cupcakes in 2 hours. I don't know how they did it. The party never missed a beat and the parents all raved at the delicious sweet and beautiful cakes! Words cannot express my appreciation! What a pleasure to see that there are businesses still out there that believe in service! Here's to you TBB! I will be a customer for life! (I see why my late grandmother loved this place.) more

Worst Bread Ever 1/15/2011

I moved to The Houston area in August of 2005 and my sister bought us some Rye from Three Brothers, Their Corn Rye is more like Russian Rye or white bread. New Years day 2011 we gave Three Brothers another try worse then the first time, this time the bread was like pure air with no solid consistency and lousy crust. It doesn't even taste good toasted! If someone would open up a good Jewish bakery in competition they would put them out of business. I decided to make my own Corn Rye and it turned out better tasting the first try. I really wonder where Three Brother got their Recipe. more

Simply Amazing 9/4/2008

I have worked with TBB as a vendor at a local state entity. I have always been able to count on them to deliver on time. There quality of service matches there quantity and quality of food. They have all sorts of different ideas for your every need. more

Three Brothers always answers the phone 8/4/2008

I had an emergency on Saturday afternoon and Three Brothers came to the rescue. My wife was bringing snacks to a baby shower and I tripped carrying a box of petite fours for the shower. They had little confectionary baby shoes on top and very few survived the fall. Three Brothers answered the phone late Saturday afternoon and the manager was extremely sweet and helpful. We sent a picture of the survivors and she made sure that her designer would have two dozen replacements ready by 10 AM Sunday morning! The ladies at the shower did not miss a beat and loved the excellent design work on the petite fours. Pros: Great service, rapid response, good follow through more

Terrible! Don't Do It! 6/12/2008

Buyer BEWARE!!! Three Brothers Bakery maybe the worst on-line transaction and the rudest customer service we have ever seen! We ordered a cake on-line for a colleague?s birthday. The transaction itself was terrible! It involved filling out a Credit Card Authorization form, which we had to electronically scan and e-mail back. On-line transactions are now very common and are NEVER this complicated. BTW, during this process, every person we talked to gave us a different story? most of which turns out to have been wrong! On the day of the event, the cake was not delivered so we called to inquire about the problem. Instead of trying to fix the issue, they blamed us! I have NEVER seen such POOR customer service. After reading other reviews, apparently this is the way they usually do business. Despite all the negative reviews, if you decide to order something from Three Brothers Bakery, be careful... if their baking skills are anything like their customer service, you?ll need to keep the PEPTO-BISMOL handy! more

one of the brothers is... 6/8/2008

I had sent them a photo of a cake and they promised to make it. It was a pricey little cake($75) but when it came out the color was completely wrong. The picture of our cake had a dark fuschia ribbon and the cake had a pepto-bismol pink ribbon. So I was disappointed cause the cake was pricey and the girl hide in the back and the owner came out, so we told him it was the wrong color. The owner responded that they are not a paint store. They fixed it and made it better but I was mad that the owner was so rude. Especially when they had a digital image of what the final product should look like. He came back with this horrible print out and the ribbon looked red so ""since they are not a paint store"" they changed it to red but it was no where near pepto-bismol pink. He was saying it was my fault because the handout said a bright pink ribbon but it also stated see photo. Uncalled for they had a professional digital image sent via email. I'm so mad totally wreck my 1st wedding anniversary. Never going back because one of the brothers is so rude. more

Best Jewish Bakery in Town 10/24/2006

I have been going to this bakery for years and I have had nothing but great experience's. The employee's are very warm and helpful also I have always had great results with the products I have purchased there. If I have ever had a problem I get immediate attention and a good resolution. The bread here is outstanding as well. They have great bread for the jewish bread lovers and great bread for the german bread lover. Over all this is a great bakery for all your bakery needs. Pros: Good service and a very good product more

The Pits 1/1/2006

I highly recommended this bakery for my brother's wedding (conducted here in Houston although he and his wife live in NYC) after having a cake from them a few years ago. My brother and sister-in-law arranged for a cake to be delivered to the hotel where everyone was staying and it was to be the final course of our 6-course dinner. However, Three Brothers Bakery did not deliver the cake and made no apologies, nor did they offer any remunerations. You do not get a second chance to get a first wedding right and I am very sorry that I recommended them. I live in Houston and am embarrassed that this did not work out. Can you imagine a wedding without a wedding cake? Perhaps this isn't their specialty, but I thought they would be able to do it. Apparently not. I will post an update if they resolve this. Cons: Unprofessional, Did not follow throug more

Comme Ci Comme Ca 12/5/2005

Three Brothers Bakery has pro's and con's. In the past I've enjoyed the variety of baked goods and bagels. Service is poor at times. Requests are often perceived as a chore. Unfortunately, all my experiences with Three Brother's Bakery haven't been pleasant. Without tasting one of their petite fours, I ordered 15 petite fours recently, in good faith, for a sorority meeting. The design was simple, less than what I had expected, yet that was the least of my worries. The petite fours tasted awful. The white cake had no flavor whatsoever and was dry. The icing made the cake even more dry. In my hurry, I didn't notice the box they handed me the petite fours in was torn! Not a great first impression for the girls having their petite fours. Pros: Variety, Bagels Cons: Service, Petite Fours more

Great service! 4/7/2004

I have grown up eating from this bakery. I get withdrawls if I do not get a cheese danish or gingerbread at least once a month. The customer service is great! I have had very friendly clerks and they are extremely helpful. Delicous food!!!! Pros: Great food, Great service more

Customer Service lacking 12/12/2003

While their cakes are really good..they really don't care about customer service. When they messed up my daughter's birthday cake, there was little attempt to make up for the mistake and the manager was downright rude. Too many other great bakery options in town to put up with that. Pros: cake decorations, product quality Cons: consistency, cust. service more

Best cakes anywhere, bakery scented yum! 8/7/2002

This is a true bakery, yummy crispy bread, and the best birthday cakes anywhere, not so sickly sweet like other birthday cakes places. The bread makes you yearn for Europe. Fresh baked daily bread and cakes. I recommend Three Brothers Bakery to everyone! YUM!!!!! :) Pros: Fresh baked breads, Awesome cakes, European good tastes Cons: crowded parking lot more
