WIth all the stress of everyday life, the UC Davis Arboretum is a great place which to escape. Bring a blanket, a good book, and an iPod full of tunes, and you'll be set for a nice sunny afternoon. There is a walking/biking path that follows the two sides of a creek(?), and goes through different areas of the Arboretum. Beware, however, that part of the path through the Arboretum goes right past some farm animal pens (well, UCD is a agriculture school!), so it's not always so pleasantly fragrant. :) A great place to get away and relax.
