The Science Station...cute idea but too little for the price 10/8/2005

My first experience with THE SCIENCE STATION was years ago when they had a mobile exhibit on the space shuttle. Having a young son who was fascinated with space at that time, hubby and I traveled to CR to check out the exhibit. I must admit I was really impressed and was excited based upon the shuttle exhibit to see the inside of the science station. I was later disappointed. The do have some nice exhibitions, true, but when that is said that is about all. The entry price is really a bit on the expensive side and the exhibits are sketchy as best. I also have noticed on later visits that the exhibits do not change often enough to justify frequent return trips. So this Mom's opinion is this....steer clear of this attraction unless you haven't been there in awhile other wise you will spend money for repeat attractions that you kids may quickly grow tired of seeing. As always...this is one woman's opinion....take it or leave it. more

educational fun 10/2/2005

this is the best place to go on an afternoon to let the kids explore more about science. there is always a special exhibition at the science station that is sure to teach your child something new and interesting that they didnt know before. this place not only tells you how it happens but actually shows you how it happens. the staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the displays and can help answer the kids questions. more

Not wowed by Science Station 8/4/2005

The Science Station continues to disappointment. It seems that every time we visit several of the exhibits are broken. I know that sometimes children are rough with the exhibits, but you would think that the Science Station would have figured that out by now and would have staff members walking around and stopping children from abusing the exhibits. My son did enjoy one of the few new exhibits, the astronaut training chair. The ride that he took was worth the extra dollar we had to pay. more

Fun day with the kids! 7/28/2005

This place has a lot of neat things to do. I haven't been here in about a year but I would highly recommend. I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about a lot of things, but some of the exhibits there we just awesome! This place isn't that expensive, and there's an IMAX theatre right next door. You could spend awhile over on this section of town. Definitely say to check this place out! My recommendation for this place is that it rocks, hands down! more

Nice Local Children's Science Museum 7/19/2005

This museum is really for children. (Mainly kids younger than 14.) Nothing here for adults--don't bother going in. They have recently remodeled and added some new exhibits. The Science Station is on three different floors. Some of the exhibits my children enjoy are the earthquake table, the pulley seat and the water table. They do offer family memberships. more

High Priced 7/15/2005

I thought that the price you have to pay to go here was a bit much. Even the adults have to pay quit a bit even though it is for kids. You are not allowed to drop the kids and leave either. I did not feel that there were enough actives to keep us busy for a couple of hours. more

Kids have educational fun 7/12/2005

The Science Station offers activities for the kids as hands on. They can see a cloud formed by pushing on a big bellows. Fly a plane and see how the wind flows over it. Operate robotic arms and try to pick up foam blocks. Blow big bubbles using wire of different shapes and a big guillotine thing. Build an arch with Velcro blocks and many other actives throughout the three stories of the building. more
