We have just the right amount of new agey-ness in the Mission. In other words, almost none. But it is good to have a touch here and there for diversity sake, just to have all our bases covered. The Scarlet Sage fills that niche quite well, with an assortment of Aura themed books in the window, just so you know what they’re angle is, but go inside and there’s lots of practical stuff like soaps and oils and all sorts of herbal stuff that you might begrudgingly buy as a gift for mom. more

The best thing about Scarlet Sage is the staff. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful with suggestions and advice. If you're really into alternative health, teas, and essential oils, this is the shop for you. But even better, in my opinion, if you are not a big alternative aficionado, Scarlet Sage still has a little something for everyone. You can find wonderful soaps, books, gifts, incense, cards, candles, and knick knacks. I took one of their evening classes once (only $10) about herbs, and found it informative and practical (i.e., not too "out there"). The comfortable atmosphere makes it fun to browse, testers abound so you can sample products, the place smells great, and you'll likely walk out with a little soothing something. more

Scarlet Sage has an incredible array of essential oils, dried herbs, and information pertaining to alternative healing methods. The staff are extremely knowledgable, and can help you pick the exact combination of herbs you need. They also have herbal soaps that smell exquisite, and little gifts and trinkets that are hard to resist. more
