nice place, horrible management 1/27/2010

I've lived here for 3 years and generally like the place, the amenities are great. However, the customer service is non-existent and the management is generally rude. When paying top bucks, one expects nicer service. However, the maintenance staff is great and very friendly, it's merely the leasing office staff that acts as if they were entitled to a greater destiny than serving the people who pay their wages. Pros: beautiful surroundings Cons: very pricey, not conveniently located, horrible management more

The neighborhood and community literally stink 5/16/2009

4 days each week, dozens of dumpsters are lined up outside the residences. The trash pickup by the city takes 30 minutes to an hour and is very noisy. One of the worst areas is on Baypointe Parkway south of Descanso Dr to the dead end at the orange grove. Check it out on a Wednesday night or Thursday morning. The process is repeated on Sunday/Monday but usually 1/3 as many dumpsters on those days.\r \r Apart from the dumpsters, the neighborhood is just about 7 or 8 miles south of the landfill and the water treatment plant. So the neighborhood as a whole often features a combo trash/sewage smell. \r \r The park in the middle of the community is city owned so it attracts a lot of non residents. This causes extreme parking shortfalls. \r \r The main pool at the Sycamores is pretty nice. But the gate on the corner of Descanso and Baypointe Pkwy is broken (or disabled.). The key pad that you need to run your fob past is still there. It's unclear if they disabled this gate on purpose (why?) or not. But in any event, rather than turn it on or fix it, they made a sign that reads ""Exit only"" on this gate. It previously worked. \r \r This last thing is obviously not a big deal to some people. Cable is not an option. You are stuck using satellite TV. Maybe you prefer satellite but it's disappointing that a relatively new community in the heart of silicon valley would not provide alternatives to those that want them. Pros: the last day of your lease Cons: the sights, sounds, and smells more

Too much noise / rental office agents are liars 6/19/2008

One of the worst places i have lived in. The walls are thin and you can hear the every move of the your neighbour living above and below you. And, if your apartment is close on Zanker or close to it, you can hear the noise of every vehicle that passes on that street. When I complained about this noice, the response I got was that I am too sensitive to the noise around me. Can you believe that?\r And the personnel at the rental office lie a lot. I allmost thought I'd go legal with them on one occassion for their blatant lies regarding the lease papers, but then they so much apologised to me that I let it go by. \r \r On the positive side: apartments are new and neat, decently maintained. The interiors are good and the place is secure. Pros: Upscale living Cons: too much noise/un-friendly staff more

Horrible management - NO customer service!! 5/10/2008

Been living here for a while and have seen it go downhill a lot. Now it's just about getting every nickel you can spend out of your pocket and nothing in return. No scheduled maintenance for long-term tenants, frequent breakdowns of/in common areas and looong waits for repair. Noisy with a lot of dope head students. I could get high by walking around long enough outside! And then there's customer service, something we all want from a landlord right? Well, it's sub-zero. Price hikes are just insane and then the arguments they put in it are so fake! They just want all your money and do nothing for it. They even go so far as to list the cost if you left, totally exaggerated! E.g. they list 200 dollar for the food you'd eat out while moving and that kinda stuff...If I do the math based on specials in the area, I'd actually still save. This is almost black mail, common!\r NOT RECOMMENDED!!!! Pros: it's always sunny outside! Cons: total lack of adequate site management and pricey!!!!! more

bad place to live 4/4/2008

Yes it is safe, and a pretty place to live, but the walls are so thin you can hear the neighbor every move. The staff is horrible and are not customer service oriented. The staff member LAKIA has lied to me on several occasions!! Pros: nice looks, nice features Cons: bad staff, bad neighbors, too costly more

Gorgeous Interiors - Great Staff 10/21/2006

The Redwoods is an excellent choice as it's in a great location close to Cisco, Intel, and other major employers in NSJ. The staff really care about finding the right location and put in a great effort to assist in all areas of the move. The apartment interiors are superior to what is out there. And, everything is brand new...never been lived in. A big bonus. The grounds are kept clean and so pretty. more
