****BEWARE OF YOUR CREDIT CARD CHARGE*** 11/9/2010

Whether you are using your Debit Card or Credit card BEWARE, especially if you are getting service from the Bar. This place will debit your credit card up to 3 to 4 times the amount you charged. They do it repeatedly throughout the night. The charges will be deducted from your account and you will have no recourse. After all how many people ask for a receipt if they are only have 1 or 2 drinks? They have overdrawn many people's account. Banks will tell you that you need to be more careful with your charges but THE PLACE needs to stop ripping people off. more

Great after-work hangout 5/24/2010

This place is usually packed, so make friends with the bartender. My first beverage was a 16 (or 12)oz Bud Light for $4. a 25OZ mug (which helps your guns too... so you're technically getting a workout) only runs $2 more! Make friends and get stares by just upgrading a bit. This was where our Pirate Pub Crawl led us for dinner.. and we had some pretty good drunk food: pasta, wings & potato skins. Are you a business person? Go for the suits, stay for the frosty mugs. Pros: HUGE beer mugs if you're ready Cons: The line to the bar more

The Place to Be Any Day of the Week 2/4/2009

I currently work in the financial district and graduated from Suffolk University in 2006. The Place was by far my favorite bar to go to in college and has remained that way ever since. Every night of the week there is something going on at The Place. I watched the Super Bowl there with about 150 people. Great atmosphere and great TV's. After the game the bar filled up and the dance floor was packed. I have never had a bad time at The Place and have become great friends with all the staff there including Mary, Dre, Cliff and Nikki. The staff is definitely what makes The Place a great bar to hang out at any day of the week. Pros: Staff, Service, Televisions, Atmosphere Cons: Crowded more

A little late, but.... 1/7/2009

A bunch of us went to The Place a couple weeks ago to watch a Celtics game. Great time. Plenty of TV's to watch. Tried the pizza...very pleased. Sports, Beer, Good Food, Better looking bartenders, what more can you ask for? Def check out. more

Best Pizza, Great Place 5/4/2008

My friends and I go to the Place once in a while and always have a GREAT time. We especially love Wednesday nights, its busy but not as busy as a Friday or Saturday. The staff is alot of fun and very friendly. I love the themes and the atmosphere. We always take one of the pizzas to go...they're delicious. Pros: Great staff- Great Pizza Cons: Too much fun more

Red Sox Hang Out 5/3/2008

The best late night pizza in the city.... I see celebrities there all the time Cameron Diaz was there a couple months ago and Josh Beckett and Clay Bucholz are there alot .... Steve Levy from ESPN is also a regular... The staff is always very friendly and the theme nights very fun ...\r I would recommend this place to everyone... Get there early on the weekends because it tends to get busy early.... Pros: Great Pizza, Very friendly staff Cons: gets to busy more

NOT THE PLACE TO GO 10/11/2007

""The Place"" is the worst place i have ever been too...not only is it too crowded but there is no crowd control, i went one night after work with 2 of my coworkers, we got there around 10pm and there was already a good amount of drunk people being abnoxious without anyone bringin it to there attention, after spending a good amount of money we decided to try to make our way to the dance floor and as soon as we got on it a bouncer came and kicked us out the club! we asked to speak to a manager and he said the reason was crowd control, it was obsured that they didnt kick out 2 guys who were fightin but they kicked out 3 girls who were dancing, very unprofessional and very bad judgement call Cons: too crowded and very unprofessional more

Not A PLACE for the Fenway Faithful 4/23/2007

I attended after work with a group of friends to watch the Sox/Yanks game on a Friday night.\r We spent some nice money considering the service was horrible and we spent a signifigant amount of time watching the game. Around the 8th inning, the AC was blown on us and I asked the waitress who was in charge of the AC, it turns out the CO-Owner tried to freeze us out of there for the dance crowd to come in.\r After asking to turn it down the AC was turned UP on us. We had to sit there with our coats on the last inning of the game. I would hope that the Fenway faithful NEVER watch a game in that PLACE if they can help it, I would hope that they would be smarter than that! Cons: The service and the management were unprofessional more

Very Poor Service 12/12/2006

I have been to The Place on three separate occasions, every time hoping that I would enjoy myself more than the last. Can I just say that I have never in my life been treated more like a second class citizen than I was by the bartenders? Or should I say, the FEMALE bartenders? They would ignore me and my friends, and serve men, when we tried to order drinks or shots. We were forced to wait for the male bartenders instead. \r \r I will never go back there. I feel like I deserve better than that. Pros: Can't think of any Cons: Rude female bartenders more

Great Place to Watch a Game!!! 3/20/2006

So I just moved back to Boston after being away for 2 years and I must say The Place is still 'the place' to be. I spent all day Thursday watching NCAA games with a group of my buddies. We had a great waitress who seemed to know more about the tourney than half my friends. We were treated to a free buffet of food that was excellent and drank 25oz beers for only $5.50, great deal!! This is one of the best spots to watch a game at and I wil definitely be back... more

great spot 6/23/2005

I just moved to Boston a few months ago from down south and have had a hard time finding a fun place to dance and meet good looking woman without attitudes. i went to The Place this Saturday and it was awesome. they had 3 different bachelorette parties there (which filled my fun, hot women requirement. Plus the music was really good) and there were a bunch of professional football players there which was cool. i got to meet 3-4 of the patriots as well as a couple Cleveland Browns. they were all really cool. i had a blast, met a bunch of cool chicks, danced and even got a phone number or two. i will definitely be heading back soon. i HIGHLY recommend the bar to everyone looking for a good time.... Pros: good looking women, reasonable prices, great music Cons: long lines to get in, very crowded more

great time 6/15/2005

I stopped in last Thursday afterwork to meet some friends and ended up staying until almost 2am. I just moved back to Boston and I am glad that I found a spot so close to work that offers great food, great music and an unbelieveable video composed of Boston's great sports moments. It is, hands down, the best video that I have ever seen. On top of all that the staff is very friendly and not to hard on the eyes. The Place is great bar bar and I will be going back very soon Pros: the sports video, the people, the staff Cons: so hard to leave more

Good to go 3/25/2004

The line was long, but so was everywhere else. The service is good, they have a girl near the door selling just beer. It gets crowded, especially on game nights, and once in a while it will be rented out, so make sure you have alternate options. Pros: crowd, prices, scenery Cons: , line?, cover more

Wednesday's are fun at The Place. 8/13/2003

Not bad. The Place is smaller than expected, but Wednesday's are awesome because during the summer the waitresses wear bikini tops. I got one of them to give me a hug (but her # was a No-Go). I even got to dance with a women (nearly 40). Her friend laughed at my dancing style, oh well. Pros: Beautiful waitresses, Music was good, Beautiful waitresses Cons: Small place, More of a sports bar, service slow later on more

Long line but worth the wait 1/26/2003

After waiting in a very long line, a fun time was had at The Place. Wasn't too crowded at first, but by midnight it was packed... just in time for the ""Cocktail"" renactment, which was very entertaining! The 2 male bartenders were cute and attentive...drinks were moderately priced ($4 bottled beer, $6 mixed drinks). Very good dj, music was a variety of top 40/80's/90's. The dancefloor was a bit crowded at times, but it cleared out by 1am. This was my first time, but I would definitely go back. Pros: fun/cute bartenders, good music, no cover charge Cons: long lines, crowded more

Fun, fun, fun 1/14/2003

this is just a fun place to be. great TVs and videos and a very happy staff. about half of the bruins were their the night i was there just partying along with everyone else. if you want to dance and drink then you'll have a great time here... Pros: staff, dancing, fun Cons: small more

Theme nights are cheesy 12/2/2002

The Place is certaintly not geared towards females, that's for sure....On the few nights that I have poked my head in there, I have seen bartenders in nurses uniforms with their butts hanging out and guys doing shots in between their breasts. School girl unforms? Come on! Not what I need to see when I go out. But hey! whatever makes them money I suppose. Service is good, doorstaff is friendly and the bar itself is not horrible although it is a bit small. Pros: good location, friendly staff Cons: female exploitation, cheesy video clips more

great place to get drunk 11/15/2002

takes along time to get in but is always busy, even in the week. barstaff are great and fast at service, music is good if you like 80/90's stuff. basically its a fun bar to go if you dont want to dress up but just want to turn up. had many a good night in there, especially wednesdays when they had boston powers night. Pros: great staff more

Not for me 11/12/2002

Lots of guidos crowded in together is not my idea of a good time. The more beers they have, the bigger their beer muscles get and they think they can dance too. Funny, but not funny enough to suffer through it. And what's with the video screen? They play clips form 80s movies that no one has ever heard of! Cons: Guidos, video screen, tough to get a beer more

The Name fits the Experience 10/21/2002

Everytime I have been there, I have had nothing short of a incredible time. From the cool layout, friendly and beautiful staff, great food, to the awesome in-house videos, and music from the VJ, The Place has been the main place I go with friends and colleagues since they have opened. A down and dirty good time at a great american drinking bar with their own unique concept. The name absolutely fits the experience....it is ThE Place! Pros: Great Staff, Great Food, Lots of Options Cons: No coat check, Not big enough more
