I love this place! Great food...Best pizza in Austin! more

Editorial review from Citysearch 1/27/2013

This place has the worst service ever. Booked the private room with 38 people and they only assigned us one waitress. It took 1.5 hours to get our food. Bills were distributed by the name it/claim it method. My guests left with their meals in containers or with no meal at all. Those that ate said the pizza was OK but the chicken on the salads and sandwiches was very dry. Everything was cold.\r \r Worst part-the manager told us it was our fault and made no effort at all to resolve our issues. He was all over the group when we got there, asking for future business. When the problems occured, he couldn't be bothered to help.\r \r There are so many great places to eat in Austin...go to one of them instead. more

This location for Mangia Pizza is no longer open. It has been changed to a ""Pizza Bistro"" more

Outstanding! 1/11/2012

Mangia Pizza on Lake Austin Blvd. is the only place to get pizza from in Austin! My favorite is the thin crust Carnivore pizza, which is loaded with a variety of meats, and they don't skimp on toppings. You can also get Chicago style pizza, salads, subs and other yummy pasta and sandwiches. The location is convenient and close to MoPac and the service is always friendly. You should also try their catering! I love this Mangia so much, I had to write a review to tell everybody to check this place out! Enjoy! more

One of the best local places in Austin 1/11/2012

This is one of the hidden gems in Austin. Still has a true ""family dining"" atmosphere. A place where you would see teens on a date and grandparents bringing their grandchildren. It is not only atmosphere that keeps me coming back, it is without a doubt the food. Many places tend to ignore deep dish pizzas for unknown reasons. But Mangia's does not and it shows! Add to that the pizza is just as good eating in or taking it home. All I can say is that after writing this... I am having a strong craving that might mean a trip to Lake Austin Blvd. more

Awesome pizza AND pasta! 1/11/2012

To begin it should be said that most places that are considered a ""pizza place"" usually just have a pasta option on the menu to take up space. Well, this is not the case at Mangia! The lasagna is delicious and pretty addicting. I do not usually like lasagna for a variety of reasons but Mangia does it just right. Now to the pizza - YUM! I don't think I've had a deep dish style pizza anywhere in Austin that can compare - and as a pizza lover I've made my way around the city. Outstanding! more

Mangia Love 1/11/2012

Mangia Pizza is unique in many ways. First off, they are the only pizza joint that has is recognized by a dinosaur, which is pretty sweet. And second, their food is unique. It's not the plain jane pepperoni pizza, it's a pizza that's filled with so much flavor. I also gotta give them props on their salads and desserts too. I'm so hungry just thinking about Mangia Pizza! more

OUTSTANDING PIZZA 1/11/2012

Wow, great location and OUTSTANDING PIZZA. And it doesn't stop there. Try their Mangia Fries, Spinach Artichoke Dip and COLD BEER. Those three items always get my old taste buds energized. Ah, then I top everything off with their pizza and I have one heck of meal. Of course, their great service is what makes me want to come back. As much as I love to eat out, it is nice to know Mangia Pizza never fails in their quality food and service. Peace, Love, Beer and Pizza....How can you beat that ! more

Not Just Your Everyday Pizza Joint 1/11/2012

Great Pizza. Great Staff. Great Atmosphere. It doesn't matter if you want thin or deep dish pizza Mangia is the only place in Austin to go. Not in the mood for pizza? Don't worry Mangia has one of the best meatball subs in town. Try it and you will thank me later. Check out their menu and you will be surprised with what all they have. Oh yeah they have a great beer and wine selection too. more

Best pizza and service around! 1/11/2012

Mangia pizza offers a wide varity of quality pizza, not your fast food cardboard pizza. I always enjoy swinging by Mangia for a slice and not to mention the first-class service. Thanks! more

Mangia's = Keeping Austin Weird (and full) 1/11/2012

USE THEIR CATERING! I cannot stress that enough. They are super fast, the food is hot and delicious, they are very flexible and do not freak out when inevitable last second problems, big or small, arise. A pleasure to work with, reliable, and SO much cheaper than other catering options. I highly recommend their pastas and salads along with the pizza. If you like thin crust, they do that really well too. Thank you Mangia for your many years of keeping me full and happy! (I still have one of those little 8 oz cups that I got 20 years ago as a kid...) more

Radical and Local 1/11/2012

Yes, there are a lot of places to grab a Pizza, but who doesnt want to buy one from a huge purple Dinosaur. This conveninet location is the Only one that actually uses good quality ingrediants. No ""cheese-product"" here. Althought I am not a huge fan of the thick crust Chicago style (carbs) I love there thin crust pizza and heaping piles of meat and veggies. And if I am really trying to be good, their salad is always fresh and loaded with veggies, too.The staff is more than friendly and remembers my name, yep, being from a small town that kind of touch really matters to me. Get there and try it.. more

Yummmmm 3/3/2011

I know Mangia is known for their deep dish and stuff crust pizzas but they make a pretty decent thin crust. The online ordering system is easy to use and allows you to basically create any pizza you can dream up. Plus they have salads, lasagna, pasta, and other dishes I didn't even know they served. Overall much better pizza than I remembered more

Better than I remembered 3/2/2011

It's been a while since I've eaten at Mangia. Had the opportunity to try it again yesterday for a work function and thought the pizza was pretty good. The salads were green and fresh and the thin crust margharita and chicken pesto pizzas were good. Their on-line ordering system is handy as well. more

Great Regular Crust Pizza Too 3/1/2011

we ordered a couple of pizzas for an office event. and I was very pleased with the pizza. i always think of Chicago Style Pizza when it comes to Mangia, and they are great at that. Little did I know that the regular crust is JUST as good. I will be back !!! more

horrendous staff 4/12/2010

They literally charged me twice on my debit card for one order. \r \r That is STEALING.\r \r I don't keep all my receipts or whatever so I don't know how to prove it. Plus the guy behind the counter never said a single word to me and never even looked up from the cash register. Obviously not going back. Cons: stole my money, horribly impolite more

Dont eat here if you value your taste buds. 2/16/2010

I just finished (or trying to finish) eating this horrible abomination to the name of pizza. I could have gone to the gas station and gotten a week old hot pocket and it would have been better. I hate that this pizza has just ruined my night. I didn't order anything complicated, just plain old cheese pizza. HORRIBLE. Crust was pre-made pre-packaged crap. The sauce was tasteless. The cheese was mediocre at best. I felt like I was back in high school with the lunch lady serving me microwave cardboard pizza. Cons: worst pizza EVER more

Overpriced, skimpy on toppings, mediocre flavor. 11/19/2008

I ordered a three-topping stuffed medium pizza for around $24. What a waste. The size was fine (for a stuffed pizza), but it had NO FLAVOR. The sauce was dull, the cheese contributed nothing, and the toppings were almost non existent. It tasted like MY cooking! If I wanted that, I could have done it myself for a fraction of the price. \r \r One upside is that the service over the phone was polite. This was a big step up from last time, when we actually sat down to eat and the waitress was an absolute b***h. Nevertheless, I tried them twice, and they blew it twice. I wont ever go back to Mangia. more

Try the non-pizza stuff 10/30/2006

I actually don't like Mangia's pizza (except the deep dish spinach if I am in the mood) but love their sandwiches and other menu items. Try the spinach lasagna or the pasta salad (so good!!). The sandwiches are all made with Boar's head meat and cheese and they are all really good (and huge) for the price. Overall, a great place for lunch with a group of friends. Pros: Other menu items more
