The Pearl

When I first relocated to Shaker we tried the restaurant based on online reviews and were woefully UNDERWHELMED by the quality and taste of the food. We decided to try them again, maily because its almost impossible to get any carryout food in shaker on sundays that isn't pizza. They don;t open until 5. We called at 6pm, were placedon hold, they never came back. We called back 3 times and were hung up on, while on hold, EACH time. we tried again one final time, and the girl who answered the phone didn;t apologize, just said,""we're very busy right now!"" i asked to speak to the owner, and was hung up on again. with hte food being MEDIOCRE AT BEST, the LEAST they can do is offer acceptabel customer service. this is not the case, probably because we are a captive clientele. more

I really love freshly prepared food and here you can find it made right! The atmosphere is wonderful and relaxing and the service is great. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a fine meal in a great place. more

Pearl of the Orient is conveniently located right at Van Aken, not far from the rapid stop. The food is awesome, and it's a nice place to go for dinner, or just get takeout. The portions are plentiful, and run about $11-15. Their Mu Shu chicken has never let me down. more

We started going to the Pearl of the Orient restaurant when I was 7 years old. It was my parents' favorite restaurant. I remember when my father got older and more frail by the day, the owner Rose Wong would customize his favorite dishes due to the very restrictive diet he had to adhere to. I am 32 yrs old now and I frequent the Pearl. with my two children.The restaurant has maintained it's high standards in both quality of food and service. Best of all, the attention to detail and customer satisfaction is rare in today's restaurants industry.
