Best Stylists in Boulder! 5/30/2008

I began seeing a particular stylist at the Parlour in Boulder in 2002. She was AMAZING but unfortunately moved the SF, CA... I was in sheer panic!! She referred me to Shawn (sp?) and he has been fantastic. I am the type who walks in and says 'whatever, make it hot' and he figures it out. Truthfully, all of the stylists are great - that I have heard of, and they are willing and able to identify your particular style and make it modern and appropriate. \r \r Lovely stylists. Great service. Reasonably priced. \r \r Overall, best salon in Boulder. Pros: Ambience, perfection, overall ability Cons: affected front desk staff - though a modest set-back to the overall experience more

Shawn is the best! 10/18/2007

I have been going to Shawn for over 2 years, before seeing him I have never been able to commit to one stylist. He changed that, he always listens to what I want and gives awesome cuts everytime. I have recommended family and friends to him and everyone that sees him is hooked! He spends the extra time getting it absolutely perfect, and making sure I am 100% happy. Go see Shawn at the Parlour, you will not be disappointed! more

You'd be better off sticking your hair in the blender than going to Shawn at The Parlour 8/27/2007

I usually go to a salon in Denver (LoDo) and will never make the mistake of going to The Parlour again. I?ve seen pretty much everything, having lived in NYC, Philly, and DC. I?ve had amazing haircuts, average haircuts, but I?ve never had a haircut THIS HORRIBLE! It?s difficult to imagine or even begin to explain how or why Shawn did what he did. I have fine, longer layered hair that was in need of a trim to make it look fuller and healthier again. Shawn ended up mutilating my hair, actually THINNING it out and making the ends wispy, which just emphasized his horrible work. The ends were completely uneven, and definitely NOT in a good ?bedhead? way. I went in for a trim, explained exactly what I wanted, and I?ve never left a hair salon feeling so unhappy and honestly, violated. He was pretty harsh and pulling my hair as he was drying it, maybe in frustration because his haircut didn?t turn out as he?d planned? He expressed his frustration, and figured he?d throw in some styling stuff to make it look ?messy?. Well, messy was NOT what I wanted, and not what I asked for. Even my boyfriend (who normally wouldn?t even notice a trim) immediately offered to be ?damage control? when he saw my hair. I called them, and the customer service was horrible. They suggested that I come in and talk to Craig, which I did. I ended up waiting OVER HALF AN HOUR, with absolutely no explanation or apology. He said there wasn?t much he could do, and offered me a free haircut. How was a free haircut going to help me? I wanted my hair back! Also, the people at the counter had no idea what Phyto Actif was, and did not offer to try to find it for me. They have no idea what good customer service is at all, unless, washing their own hair, drinking beer, and running off to sit in a chair to have their own hair done instead of taking care of customers IS their idea of good customer service. Please, do NOT go to The Parlour! That is, unless you want to have your hair mutilated. more

The most Amazing stylist in Colorado 7/19/2007

I went to Andy in Boulder because my previous stylist in The Parlour Denver Left and I wasn't sure that he could top what I had gotten before. I was amazed at not only the Quality of service but the speed and care that was taken with my hair. The application of my color was lightning fast and it was explained to me that he doesn't process under heat because it can cause damage to the hair and cause the color to fade faster (something that I was completely unaware of). After it was all said and done it was more expensive than I was use to in Colorado but for the quality you would pay $$500-$1000 in LA or Chicago for the same service. In that perspective it was a total bargain. Pros: location, tons of stylists Cons: Parking more
