Horrible service and an apathetic manager.

Great food, decent prices! 4/24/2012

Went to lunch there on a Sunday afternoon. No wait (we were first ones in the door). Ordered Olive tapenade - delicious! And it was $5-$6, very reasonably priced appetizer (5 people split it just fine). I had the salad with house dressing and again, very good! For my meal, I had the jumbo crab stuffed ravioli with pesto Alfredo sauce and it was so, so delicious. (You get 6 ravioli, I split with a friend so had 3 and it was plenty filling). I can't rave about the food enough! The only thing I would have changed is I wish the waitress had told us we were getting bread with the meal (a nice surprise but when being careful with money it's good to know) and ice cream with each meal (again a nice surprise). The waitress was very nice and accommodating and had no trouble splitting up the tickets. I do think they should offer a couple other desserts (besides a chocolate cake and mud pie) but the spumoni was very good! I also didn't think the bathroom was all that nice/clean - especially considering we were one of the first to use it. But if I could go back today and order what I did Sunday, I would in a heartbeat! more

Great deal! 5/11/2011

You get a TON of food for a price that is right in line with any other restaurant. You get a drink, your main meal, salad or soup, rolls, and ice cream all for the price that you can just get a main meal somewhere else. It may not be the best quality italian food in stl, but it is still certainly very tasty! Nice, unique atmosphere. Big establishment so I've never had a wait a real long amount of time for a table. more

The best pasta and ambience in st. louis 10/23/2009

The old spaghetti factory is a st louis tradition. I remember going here with my family when i was a little boy and now i bring my own family here! The pasta is simply the best in st. louis. Their sodas are top notch also. The decor is gorgeous - they just don't put as much thought in modern buildings! You cant go wrong with the old spaghetti factory from the price to the decor to the staff! Pros: decor, food, friendly staff more

Never again 10/19/2009

Never going back.We had to move from our table for reasons i won't say.The sever had to move us because our waitress was no where to be found. He replaced our salads and made sure we where taken care of.The manager never came over and they wanted us to pay full price. The sever was the best, we gave him the tip, a big one and the waitress got nothing.Again i can not say what happened but we will never step foot in this place again. The food is nothing to write home about.Had fast food better than what they serve. Pros: No pros more

I have had way better! 3/23/2009

I was no where near impressed with the food. The establishment was picture perfect, beautiful, and exciting. The food is where the problem was. The meat sauce for the spaghetti horrible. My girlfriend had chicken marsela, which she sent back. The lasagna was plain and had that disasterous meat sauce. But the salad dressing for the salads was great. I would not recommend this place, for food, to anyone. more

I love this place... 3/4/2009

We go to the location in the Chesterfield Valley. I still love the manager's special, with meat sauce and mazithra cheese. The Old Spaghetti Factory is just a great value. Good food, good price. Highly recommended for families. Pros: Value, good food, great family friendly place Cons: Not much more than spaghetti. more

Bad service and mediocre food. 4/28/2008

The service was very slow and we weren't even there at a busy time of day. There were empty tables all aound us, but it still took 20 minutes to just get water. The food was mediocre at best. The building was beautiful, but between the service and just ok food, I won't be heading back anytime. There are much better places in St. Louis to go eat... Pros: Nice building Cons: Bad service and the food wasn't all that great more

First time there 3/2/2008

This was my first trip ever to St.Louis and I had a blast. We had a long wait because we were late getting there and there was numerous very large parties there that evening. Eventhough there was a long wait the bar was easaily accessable for soft drinks and such. Once we were seated we were prom;ptly greeted by our server and it just so happened that it was his first nite and we were his very first table. A tabke of 12 women at that. The server remained pleasent thhrough out the whole night and the Manager checked in on us quite frequently. The food was great. The only thing that I was not pleased with was the dip that came with the flat bread. It was a little to salty for me. But all in all we had a great time. I will definately go back there again. Pros: The whole resturant was great Cons: we had to pay for parking. It would have been nice if the businesses valiated the parking. more

Avoid if on a time schedule 1/22/2007

We have visited the OSF in the past and usually had a decent time. Not this time. They re-opened with a new menu and apparently an entirely new staff who had no clue how to handle a large group. We arrived at 5:10 pm and had no service until 5:30 when the bus boy filled our waters. At 5:45 our waitress showed up and we informed her that we were in a rush, we were taking our kids to a concert at 7:00 and wanted to leave by 6:30. Our food arrived at 6:20 and they failed to make three our dishes, one being a grilled cheese sandwich. After asking for the remainder of our food and our checks, our waitress did not return until 6:45 and still did not have all of our food or our checks. After finally getting our checks and again indicating that were extremely late and could she process them quickly. After 10 minutes we had to physically track down someone to determine what was taking so long and were told that ""you are in line behind other credit cards"". Totally unacceptable. I am telling everyone I know about this ordeal and if you are ever going to eat there and need to get to a show or something, I would avoid this location at all cost. Cons: Could not get their act together more

Great ALL AROUND! 11/24/2006

I absolutely love this place! It is in a great location, decorated so cool, prices are low and the food was absolutely awesome. I visited during a busy Saturday evening and have absolutely NO complaints! I am returning ASAP! Pros: Cheap prices, Wonderful food! more

Highly overrated 6/18/2006

A big group of my family ate here after a long day at the zoo. It's one of those places that wants to send the customers out saying ""Wow, it was so great, they gave us a whole loaf of bread rather than biscuits or rolls!"" Big deal. Any way, the food was extremely subpar. I got the chicken fettucini dish and like another reviewer said, Fazoli's (Italian fast food chain) does it better. The others were also not impressed. However, you can eat here for fairly cheap. Then again, why would you want to? This restaurant is highly overrated. In other words, DONT EAT HERE. Pros: Seated promptly, very nice atmosphere Cons: Be careful when ordering, decide if you want horrible or subpar food (your o more

HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED 10/5/2005

A group of friends and myself met here for a evening of good Italian food. It had been years since I had been at the restaurant. We were seated quickly and greeted by an excellant server but the food was absolutely horrible. I ordered the Spaghetti and meatballs. The dish had very little sauce. The meatballs not only looked bad but tasted horrible. I would not recommend this restaurant for someone who loves good Italian food. Pros: good service Cons: better food more

Big Crowd, Long Wait, No Reason 9/21/2005

In short, this place is highly overrated. It sells cheap-grade pasta with unsophisticated sauces to the masses. It's a kids place. It serves ""sketty"" not spaghetti. It has no business being number 2 in this poll in a city like St. Louis which is rich with Italian restaurants. Pros: Kid Friendly Cons: bland food, long wait more

Fantastic! 7/6/2005

The perfect place to take visitors. It is reasonably prced, for arund $10, you get an entire meal, salad or soup, entree, Iced tea, and Icecream! We have gone several times, and the service is always fabulous! Pros: food, selection, staff & pricing Cons: they need more locati more

If McDonalds Did Spaghetti 11/11/2002

Fazoli's does it much better and a lot cheaper. Any number of places has better ambiance. I've been amazed for years that this place is still in business.....any diner with even a small amount of discernment would only step foot in this place one time. Way too many places in St Louis better than this for any of the reasons we go out to eat. Pros: On the Landing Cons: Prego quality, Fast Food Atmosphere more

not worth the wait 10/3/2002
