Best school in Dallas!! 11/6/2007

I feel this school is the best school around. You get what you pay for and MORE!! The class size is small and helps all the kids prepare for elementary school years. I have nothing but praise for this school and the owner. The children get alot of one-on-one help with their work. When people are searching for a school I'll definitely recommend this school to them!! Pros: GREAT ENIVORNMENT!! more

The Best Little Private School! 10/24/2007

One of the best choices I ever made was enrolling my son in The Harrington School. At age 4 I wanted him to become socialized and familiar with a school setting. A close friend reccommended The Harrington School. I was very impressed when I went to visit and started him immediately. The teachers are friendly and caring and very dedicated. Class sizes are kept small, the pre-k children work out of Kindergarten level books approved by Texas board of Education, and besides reading and math, they are exposed to art, music, science, history and geography. My son stayed through pre-k and kindergarten. He went on to a gifted program in elementary school. I am so grateful to Mrs. Harrington and Mrs. Gathright for all their hard work with my child and others. I know several children who have gone on to gifted programs or are even in regular classes, but are excelling because of early education from this school. It is truly so much more than babysitting going on in these classes. Tuition is also reasonable for what you are really getting. I would reccommend anyone wanting to get their child off to a good educational start to send their children to this school! Pros: Small classes, excellent curriculum Cons: Too bad they don't teach 1st thru 5th grade! more

WONDERFUL school! 9/27/2007

I will send all of my children to the Harrington School! Mrs. Harrington is a wonderful teacher and truly enjoys working with children. I trust her completely and am at ease when I drop my kids off each day. Pros: Small class size and excellent instruction Cons: Out of my way but TOTALLY worth the drive! more

Wonderful school 9/27/2007

Our children have all attended The Harrington School and they all enter public school ahead of their peers. Mrs. Harrington has more than 25 years of teaching experience and she is very knowledgeable. With her patience and attention, our youngest overcame a speech impediment. The children actually spend time learning at The Harrington School, while many nearby day cares are glorified babysitters. Our daughter loved the art projects she did in kindergarten. Many teachers in the CFB school district send their children to The Harrington School, because they know Mrs. Harrington will care for the children as if they were her own. They also know that children who attend The Harrington School leave with a reading, writing and math level superior to their peers. I recommend this school to everyone with children. The classrooms are small and the school is beautiful. My daughter (in the 3rd grade) says that someday her kids will go to The Harrington School too. Pros: Experienced, caring staff and ideal learning environment Cons: None! more

PARENTS BEWARE!!!! 4/11/2007

I have worked in daycares aswell as have had my daughter in an elementary school. I am well aware of what a good school should be based upon, I myself went to Hockaday from K to 12th grade. The Harrington School is far from being a decent school let alone a good one!! I had my daughter in this school for a month and finally had enough with this place I had to take her out. Mrs. Harrington is very educated but at the same time thinks its acceptable to yell at the top of your lungs at the children in her school. She is not caring and claims to educate children. My daughter did not learn anything I had not already taught her. I work very hard with my daughter. She is 4 and is already a beginer reader no thanks to Mrs. Harrington. The children work out of a workbook that I can go buy at Target for five dollars. When a little boy hurt my daughter, Mrs. Harrington told her to hurt the little boy back! This school does not apply basic childhood social skills or any skills for that matter! I was very unhappy with my experience!!! Pros: Director, Mrs. Harrington is well educated. Cons: The director does not communicate well. more
