Boston Childrens' Museum 2/27/2011

Youv'e got to be kidding me! The Museum is an embarrassment for a world class city. It's understaffed, underactivitied, too small to accomodate the kids and their parents, old fashioned and out-dated with few or no exhibits in the word of modern technology. It was every kid for him or herself with no supervision on the antiquated and boring "interactive exhibits" They still had "Etch A Sketch"! What was available on the second floor supposedly devoted to 2 and 3 year-olds was a total waste of time for everyone. Fun Factor? How about a 0. The city should be ashamed of this place in the year 2011! It reminded me of someplace I might have visited in the 50's. more

Perfect family outing 10/26/2005

Perfect family outing There is so much to do here - I never get bored. All exhibits are hands-on and interactive for the children but are definately entertaining for the parents as well. Lots of great shows and special exhibits. It can be a bit expensive to get inside the doors but libraries typically have free passes you can borrow. more

very small place, but fun for children 9/19/2005

At 2500 sq. ft, the Children's museum is not that large. However, each sq. ft is packed with hangs-on activities. My favorite activity was the Japanese house, which illustrated Japanese customs. An interesting part of the museum is definitely the recycle center where you can purchase stuff that was made from recycled materials. There is a pretty big museum shop in the Children's museum too. more

For the young and young at heart... 8/12/2005

Whether you're young or young at heart you'll have a blast here. With large things for kids to climb on and explore they can get a hand’s on view of how things work. From technology of today to the binary code they can really start to understand how tings evolved. It’s refreshing to have a place where there isn’t a single “do not touch” sign, and many please touch and please climb sign. more
