Welcoming 4/13/2008

I saw the review about how you're recommended to wear black and I actually completely disagree. I stay in Cleveland a lot with friends and we decided to go to The Chamber and I was wearing a bright green hoodie and jeans and sneakers. By the end of the night, we were being applauded while we were dancing. It was a blast! The great thing is that practically everyone dances (even almost all the men) and I saw no one being judgemental. My friend's boyfriend is one of the DJs and I love the music they play because you won't hear it any where else. Amazing death metal bands get their songs played there. The only bad thing is that it's a bit small. I was expecting it to be a lot larger the first time I went in, but at least you get to know people easier. It also took me a really long time to just get a drink. I recommend their drink called the Zombie! Even if you're not into that type of music or you're never in that type of company, just go for the experience. Be open-minded and you will definitely be treated the same there. I saw bikers, business women, younger crowd, older crowd, etc. More diverse than you would think. Pros: Atmosphere, crowd, music Cons: Slow service, small space more

Goth club 2/24/2007

I love the music and looking at the crowd. People dance and dress very differently here. Wear black, if you don't do goth, because it is likely that they will turn you away. It is a themed club. Marilyn Manson and Trent Reznor have been famous locals to visit. Their drink prices are pricey, but the place is soooo cool. They are only open on Fri/Sat and sometimes Wednesdays and Sundays. Pros: Something out of the ordinary Cons: It has a culture all its own, which turns people away, unfortunately, because the music is GREAT. more

Stomping Ground... 7/16/2006

As a regular patron of this club, I have to be partial to my "home" here. I've been to goth bars in other cities, as well as regular clubs in this town. The Chamber kicks their asses. They have the BEST music, the HARDEST-WORKING DJ's, a good dancefloor, a great crowd, and the Best Bartender In The Universe, Kat. If you like bands like Stabbing Westward, KMFDM, E Nomine, Peter Murphy, or Assemblage 23, you'll feel right at home here. The downfalls are things like the giant fan on the dancefloor that messes up your hair and gives a "wardrobe malfunction" to any kind of short dress you're wearing, and the lack of air conditioning. But if you want to have fun, these things can be overlooked. Pros: Great dancing, Kat The Best Bartender In The Universe, awesome music Cons: Drinks are a little on the pricey side, no air conditioning more

Better than most 10/16/2005

While the previous reviewer may think The Chamber sucks compared to what it used to be (and maybe it was better in the past), the reality is that it is 1000 times better than many other goth/industrial clubs. Unfortunately, goth is dead (undead, undead). I'm from Cleveland and now in New Orleans, and I wish The Chamber were here! Friday nights suck - too many baby goths and high school drama. Saturdays are great, more old school. The temperature in the place is always terrible, but Kat is wonderful and so are many of the DJ's. Pros: good music, inexpensive, good w/requests Cons: temperature, bathrooms, Friday night cliques more

Goth is dead in Cleveland 7/7/2005

It had been years since I had gone here and last week I found out why. This once vibrant busy club had maybe 20 people in it. The dancing was the most miserable excuse for dance and rythme I had ever seen! Their sound system had gone down hill fast most the music was unclear. Finally the place has no ventilation so the temperature inside there was in the upper 90s at 1 AM. The Chamber has turned into the place where losers go to think they are cool. Its sad really! Pros: Lower entrance charge Cons: over priced drinks, horrible music/DJ, heat exhaustion more

Not a bad way to spend a Wednesday night 5/20/2003

Wednesday is 80's night and the DJ usually plays all the typical favorites with a few obscure songs that can either keep the place boppin or clear the dance floor. Free cover for those over 21 and the drink prices aren't too bad. Overall, not a bad time, but it can get really crowded with a few obnoxious drunk folk, so be prepared. Pros: inexpensive, decent music, clean-ish bathrooms Cons: crowded, very, very hot more
