not worth the time or money 3/21/2009

Went here for a friends bday on a sat nite. Had a reserved table upstairs. ($300 bar tab to reserve) We must have spent about a $1000 but as soon as our drinking slowed down, they turned over our table. Simply gave it away and hustled us off. Hostess was exceptionally rude about it too. Just moved all our coats and stuff while we were downstairs dancing. My scarf was missing so I went to the hostess stand to ask if she'd picked it up. She had a big pile of our stuff behind her hostess stand but she emphatically said "NO" and walked away to seat a party. When she returned I pressed the issue again and asked if she would just look through stuff for me. She got annoyed and said she simply didn't have it. Finally I took the matter into my own hands and walked around and started digging through our stuff. She got angry (as expected) and called the doorman over. Just as he arrived I found my scarf. I held it up and showed it to her. She just ignored me..no apology, no nothing. O.K. I can live with with bad attitude if you're a super trendy hot spot, but this place is very mediocre and simply cant justify it. It's just some nice decor, a few couches, poor service, and some very over priced champagne. Downstairs could really be a great little dance floor but the music was incredibly lame. Don't waste your money on this dump. I'm giving it one star b/c it's required. In reality it deserves none. Pros: nice decor, great little cave like dance floor Cons: everything else more

bubble lounge 8/4/2008

Not diverse at all!!! This bar has nothing but bad music and watered down drinks! Not to mention my boy friend came to meet me and he wasn't let in because his pants were"to BIG" this bar discriminates against urban wear! He fallowed the dress coad to a T but his clothes were to baggy (it didn't matter that he was over wieght"! NO THEY DYSCRIMINATE AGAINST URBAN WEAR!!!!!!!!!!! more

bar staff is a joke...crowd is horrible 4/19/2007

After giving the barman $25 for 2 $12 drinks, realizing I have no more cash, I ask my friend for a few bucks to make sure he gets tipped out. He takes my $1 change and holds it up asking the other barstaff "anyone want a dollar?" sarcastically, as I'm trying to get more money for that low life; aside from that the crowd is low grade...opposite of what some cheesy SF tourist magazines describe Bubble as being a City hot spot; maybe it was at some point, but the "moment" is certainly over at this place. more

Best Nightclub in SF! 12/5/2006

Went to Bubble Lounge on Saturday night and was blown away. First of all no cover (as long as you show the bouncers ID and are dressed extremely nice, you will get in) and second, the gorgeous women! There is actually room to move here unlike some other clubs. Bartenders make good drinks, and if you leave a decent tip they will make even better drinks the next round. Make sure you come with a group of friends or at least one friend so you blend in easy. Pros: Service is fast and friendly; Large security staff made me feel safe; The decor. Cons: Some of the people who come to this club, don't really belong here..... more

Best Romantic Primer!! 11/15/2006

I recently took my wife here for her birthday, and it was very, very romantic to say the least. The service, decor, and drinks were great!! more

The UN of SF nightlife 11/9/2006

This place has diversity, its great. If you play by the rules (have id, shoes, dressed decently), you will have a good time. The decor and ambience is soothing. Men - ambitious, trendy, blazer sporting. Women - 2nd year law or advertising 30 year olds. Haa, just kidding. If you are someone who prefers to still hear "Brass Monkey" when out for the night, visit on Friday night (graduated frat crowd). If you are like me and wear a t-shit with a $3K Breitling, visit on Sat night...its more U.N. more

Best place ever! 10/8/2006

I love it! Great service and great drinks. If you are looking for a great and romantic place to com and have fun and relax, Bubble lounge is it. Pros: Give respect, get respect. more

Rude hostess, felt rushed not impressed 9/7/2006

I haven't been to this place since 2000 because it was always too crowded and too pretentious. We went there again last night to celebrate an engagement and probably won't go there again until 2010. Let me first say that we spent a lot of money and continued to order drinks(bottles) and food throughout the 2.5 hours of our evening. We weren't being abonoxious, tipped generously and were all well behaved. The hostess constantly kept coming over and moving our chairs(to make room for more people that never used the space) even though the place was not full at all. Our waitresses were both gracious but the finale was the hostess asking us to make room for the next table immediately upon paying our bill. If there were busy I would have understood but they weren't and the constant moving was really distracting...I will take my business elsewhere next time. Was never a fan, still not one. Pros: Nice place to lounge if they let you lounge and sip all night Cons: Too focused on turnover, hostess is rude more

Never Got past the Arrogant Door Man 8/31/2006

A group of 8 Women, celebrating a bachelorette party had planned a big night starting at the bubble lounge. When we got to the door, the door man asked us to please show ID. One of the women had gotten her ID stolen the week before and I asked the door man if it was okay (all of us are in our late 30s and 40s). For some reason, this set him off and he said to me "LADY, this is not a restaurant and NO ONE without ID will be let in" we called the manager over, Renee, and she claimed it was the law and that they could get in trouble. She turned her back on us and refused to let us in! They turned us away! After weeks of planning and preparation our big night out could have been ruined! But Thank goodness for the Impala, where we spent approx $1,000. If you want to have a good time and be treated with dignity, DON'T GO TO THE BUBBLE LOUNGE. Their door man is an arrogant, full of himself bully! more

fun and fancy 7/23/2006

I've only been a handful of times but each time has been nice. Of course they have a huge assortment of champage from affordable to the not so. But they also put on a nice event, I've been to 2 fundraisers and 1 company party here and each one was a blast. I love this place and wish i had the time to go more for pleasure than just work related things, but it does definitely make the work functions much better! Pros: lots of bubbly, nice decor and atomsphere Cons: some are pricey but not bad more

Love it 6/28/2006

I always have fun here whether I am in a group or just out with one other friend. I don't typically drink champagne, but their mixed drinks are great, and I love the atmosphere and there is dancing downstairs if you feel inclined....(usually mainstream hip hop tunes). Oh, and the best thing is that there is no cover charge, and if you leave early you can head out up the street to the Cigar Bar and enjoy a cigar! Pros: Drinks, no cover Cons: It can get packed! more

Good Times... 6/25/2006

Please remember that when you go to the Bubble Lounge you are still in SF, which means on the weekends it will likely be crowded. Our service was great, the champagne was nicely chilled. Music downstairs was lots of fun. I've been here a couple times now and I'd go back. Mixed drinks are just as good. Pros: Love the decor! more

Get over Yourself 6/12/2006

The place is a really cool concept and has a beautifull setting. However the staff and service are anything but. When we arrived the place was almost empty, it was on a Tues. We asked if we could get a cozy table, as we were celebrating. We were told no. Went to the back bar and when the bartender finaly made it over, it was funny to see her expression, as we ordered a 250+ bottle of champange. We were told to have a seat, in a table that the hostess said was not available. It took a bit, but when our bottle did arrive it was great. However, that was the end of the service! Except of course for the bill. This place really could use a customer service overhaul. There are lot's of great place to order over priced champange in the city. If you are going to have an attitude, you better back it up! Pros: ambience Cons: employees, attitudes, service more

The Bubble Lounge is overpriced and overrated 5/28/2006

We called for a reservation over a month in advance but when I called a week before to confirm, they didn't have it. We show up and although we are a large party and had been assured that we would have 2 tables they squeezed us around a small table even though most of the other tables in the lounge were empty. The lounge area on the ground floor is nicely furnished. The drinks were good but many were extremely pricey. The food was mediocre. There is a dance floor downstairs but it was tiny and stuffy. The music was ok. I would not go back to Bubble Lounge again. There are so many other bars / lounges in the city that do not botch reservations and when/if they do, they are very apologetic and try to rectify the situation. The Bubble Lounge unfortunately is not one of those places. Pros: Nice decor Cons: Poor customer service, Overpriced drinks, Mediocre food more

Cool place and good dance area 4/12/2006

The bubble loung is definitely a cool spot to go to. If you are into champagne its a great place. Try and get a reservation if you are with a large group otherwise its all about standing around at the bar. They have a good downstairs area to dance to as well that definitely adds to their value. You will have a great time! more

Great Bartender 2/12/2006

We were served by this great bartender on Friday that made perfect drinks and was very professional. I love the atmosphere and the crowd. Would go back just for the great drinks. Pros: Bartender more

Best Girls Night Out Ever 1/24/2006

We decided to meet up for a long overdue girls night out, and had the best time at the bubble! Everyone was super friendly and the service was great, even though you could barely move around in there on a friday night. What was most surprising was the dancing downstairs, who knew, we'll definitely be back!!! Pros: Great Service, All around FUN, Atmosphere! Cons: a bit pricey, bathroom wait more

Amazing place! 1/23/2006

I can't believe I've never been here before! After years in SF and only hearing about the place, I went in with friends the other night. What a beautiful place, and all the comfortable couches! I'll definitely be back. It's tough to get a couch if you don't have a reservation, but next time I'll be sure to make one. This is a champagne lover's paradise, and for my friends - the cocktails were delicious too. I highly recommend the cheese plates and of course, the strawberries with chocolate. Mmmmm. Pros: decor, champagne selection, appetizers Cons: advance reservation, prices more

BAD SERVICE 12/15/2005

I cant say much about the food and drink since We were denied service at this place The bartender ignored us and when we got her attention she got an attitude We sat on one of the many empty couches for about 25 minutes again we were ignored while other parties around us wre being served well complaining to the waiter and hostess wasnt much help they didnt seem to care and even said they did not see us. and they were very busy (the place was almost empty) Don't go unless you have in mind lounging without consuming... Pros: nice decor Cons: service more

Trendy, Fun lounge 9/19/2005

Have had a great time every time we've been here, something for everyone, wonderfully comfortable leather couches, great drinks, music/dancing downstairs, and a couple pool tables downstairs to smooth over those who dont drink or socialize... more
