Great Experience 4/13/2012

I have been very pleased with all my experiences with this salon. I had a unique situation happen and so I had to request some pretty big accommodations. They worked with me and I was able to get the dress of my dreams! I am very thankful for the manager for going the extra mile to help me out! She was very understanding and nice. The staff made me feel very comfortable and they were very understanding. Most of all I felt the sales associate was very honest, didn't feel like she only cared about a sale. She was tactful when certain dresses didn't fit right and even when she had to clip the dress in the back because it would not close, she didn't make me feel awkward or embarrassed. I recommend anyone to go here. more

so far, so bad... 8/21/2011

i will not recommend this place to anyone i know unless some serious damage repair is done. as far as i know, you only get married once and you want this feeling to flow from picking out the dress to picking up the dress. mace's got the picking out part right (kinda, they accused my mom of snapping photos when she was checking her phone to see when my sister could meet us after her baby, my niece's, dr. appt... they seem to act as though this is the 1st time they've had a bride order from out of town (my whole fam lives in mn and i live in az, which i've told them at least 20 times now). well, they have no clue how to communicate and i'm not convinced that it would be much better if i lived 5 mins from the salon. they call the ""preview"" appt. everything from a ""first try-on appt."" to a ""fitting"" and do not describe what that means at all. the 1st time i was told i needed to come in for my ""first try-on appt."" left on my voicemail, i was told i needed to come in w/in 14 days in case anything was wrong. would have been nice to know that 4 months ago when we paid. made sure to confirm i could come ANY day of the week to plan my trip and book a ticket around this (even though i called numerous times to try to get a straight answer on when my dress would be in and they constantly gave differing info but usually the answer was 4-6 months from the order date... helpful... so, called today to book an appt. should have known to leave at least 30 mins for this as this was the first i heard of the ""preview"" jargon (which, of course, i have no clue what this means, i'm a stockbroker, don't work for macy's bridal or read minds... sorry). the ""manager"" once again got on but last time she was apologetic and this time she made me wish i could have them send the dress back and refund our $ (i'm sure they wouldn't so i have no choice but to be stuck). instead, i listened to her tell me how wrong i was and not apologize that i was never told what words that were left on my machine as a ""first try-on appt."" didn't include alterations... sorry for assuming you'd explain any of this or that if i'm booking a $350 plane ticket i may want to accomplish more than look at the dress or try it on for fun. the ""manager"" then told me that the previous convo we had we only discussed the ""preview"" rather than ""fitting"" or ""alterations"" which are the only two words in my vocabulary relative to this concept, so i guarantee those are the words i used, but she was adamant that she was right so i let her win... she confirmed they had only ever called it a ""preview"" and even if that was the case (which it wasn't) i really could care less bc how the hell am i supposed to know what that means?! so, listened to my voicemail again to confirm i knew nothing of this ""preview"" word and the other girl called it a ""first try-on"" which i will let them listen to when i prove my point and hope to get some sort of apology after being treated like scum upon dishing out $1500+ for a wedding dress. what an exciting time in my life, right?! wrong... i would never recommend this place to anyone i know unless the do a 180 reeeeal quick and not in a fake, trying to save face and horrible reviews (which they deserve) king of way, but in a we actually understand service now kind of way, which i doubt bc the ""manager"" apologized up and down last time and ripped me to shreds this morning. she must be a miserable person to treat others (her clients) like that. i will probably try to track down her boss and send this over in hopes that any poor soles who choose macy's bridal in the future can enjoy their day rather than put up w/ their bs left and right. more

Went Beyond the Call of Duty 10/27/2010

Like other reviews, I knew their dresses were expensive. I went to my appointment with pictures and although they didn't have the exact dresses in the salon Kathy was great at finding dresses that were very close. I loved the 2nd dress I tried on but still loved the one I had a picture of. So Kathy called to see where the other dress was- and found out a salon in OH had it. For weeks she fought to get the dress to MN, they kept me up to date on the status weekly and 3 weeks later the dress was in. After trying the Dress from the picture and the #2 one I tried on in the salon. I loved the dress that was in the salon the whole time - Kathy wasn't upset or anything, which is what I was afraid of. They were excited I found 'the one'. My dress was 1250 after some discounts so its possible to find a reasonbly priced dress there. more

Could have been better 7/16/2010

Walked in during the week day, got service immediately. Salesperson was polite, but it felt like I was talking more to a used car salesperson than a bridal salesperson - lots of repeating myself as to what I was looking for, had to explain that no matter what ""deal"" she was trying to give me that I was NOT going to decide today. I hate being pressured into buying things, so when someone says that a dress on a special sale probably won't be here longer it doesn't make me want to buy it on the spot - rather, it makes me want to leave quickly. Salesperson didn't invite me into the back room to see other dresses of the same maker that I liked, only brought out 3 and didn't offer to get more even though I voiced an interest in the dresses. Pros: selections Cons: salesperson pushy, felt rushed more

Helped me find the one 11/1/2009

I had a good experience. They staff was very helpful and kind. They helped me find just what I was looking for. . They had a variety of designer gowns. I told them what I wanted and they brought me dresses until I found the one. Other salons I have been to told me to look through the racks and pick out on my own. I personally think prefer them to pick out options for me. It is true, most gowns are above 1500, so depending on your budget this may not be the salon for you. So far I have had a good experience. I hope the fitting and alterations go just as well! more

excellent service! 6/24/2009

Unlike all of the other reviews here, I had a wonderful experience at Macy's Bridal salon. I walked in, easily booked an appointment on the spot, and was treated very well, even though I was looking at the lower price points. The cheapest gown I tried on was around $800. The sales associate even let us go into the back room in order to look through the racks of dresses ourselves in order to make sure I had tried on everything I wanted to try. Macy's was the first and last place I looked. I was able to buy a lovely Vera Wang floor sample that had been discontinued for a fraction of its original retail price! This was a great dress shopping experience and I would recommend it to anyone looking to buy a designer wedding dress. Pros: friendly and helpful Cons: slightly expensive more

First store I went to and dissapointed 2/8/2009

I went to macys because they had a couple of the designers I had looked at online. When I came in for my appointment, I gave some pictures to my sales lady and she said in a snotty tone, ""we dont have any of these dresses."" I was ok with them not having the styles that I was hoping to try on, but the sales lady was not pulling any styles that were similair. I tried on about 6 dresses and ended my appointment. The dresses I looked at were way too expensive and they did not even look that great. This was my most dissapointing experience while out shopping. Cons: Not very helpful, very expensive more

Lousy Service, Very Expensive 9/27/2008

This was probably my least favorite salon. I knew this salon was a couture salon and that the prices were going to be higher because they had a lot of silk gowns, but when I told my sales lady that my price point was around 1,200, I could tell that it was going to be hard to find a dress in my budget. I think I would have spent more on a dress if I really liked it, but I felt like the gowns were overpriced for the quality of gowns I tried on. The value wasen't there for me. I didn't have the best experience, but maybe its because my saleslady was not the best. Cons: Lousy Service, Expensive more

DO NOT GO HERE 9/23/2008

I do NOT recommend going to this salon! I had my alterations done at this salon (I had bought my dress at another Macy's bridal salon in Michigan - which, by the way, is a FABULOUS place with WONDERFUL employees). The day my dress was to be picked up (supposedly finished), just 5 days before my wedding, I found my hem HALF COMPLETED, the lining hanging out, and the dress still too long. After two additional trips back to the salon (30 miles each way), I was offered as compensation $30 for a tank of gas (total cost of alterations was almost $300). WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU PAID $30 FOR A TANK OF GAS!? Employees I encountered were neither friendly nor understanding. Don't waste your time or money! more

Over Priced and Under Staffed 7/5/2008

I tried on a couple of dresses there and only found one dress that I was interested in. It was $6,000. I did not have a problem paying up to $3,000 for a dress, but $6,000 was too much. My sales helper only helped me for a bit and was ok when she did help. I think there were understaffed and over priced. I made this appointment in high hopes of finding a couture gown, but left dissapointed. more

Better Off Alone. 2/5/2008

Arrived on-time only to find they were already three appointments behind and took several minutes to even be greeted by someone, then she quickly disappeared. Finally got in to see bridesmaid dresses and they only had one brand out due to a trunk show. We were handed off three times and finally landed a saleswoman who had been there for 15 years and told my maid-of-honor that she wasn't ""a size 6."" Ugh.. I would never recommend this place to anyone! We would've been far better off on our own or, better yet, not there at all! Pros: Validated Parking, Plenty of Other Shopping Cons: Staff, Selection, Prices, Wait more

Good Selection, Clean Shop, Nice Location- High Prices 11/19/2007

I liked this shop, but when I did some checking around I found out that my dress is less expensive elsewhere. I also thought the staff was okay, but not very friendly. more
