Worst place to buy blinds 3/21/2012

They have the worst customer service ever. The people in the St. George office have a cake job. Sit around and know nothing and do nothing. They run an office and don't know how to use a phone. Will never recommend this place of business to anyone. I could go on and on , but not worth my time or effort just like they treated me as a customer. more

Worse Business Ever 8/17/2011

I ordered woven wood roman shades from the Blind Man early June 2011. I was told 2-3 weeks from order date to install. When I called three weeks later to check on the order I found out the sales rep had gone out of town, there was a problem with the order, so that's why I hadn't been contacted nor the order placed. Who knew the whole company rested on the shoulders on one sales rep? So nothing had been ordered yet at the 3 week mark. (But of course they cashed my 50% deposit check.) Did the sales rep or any employee ever call me to tell there was a problem with the order? Nope. \r \r So, we straightened out the problem. (The fabric for the banding that I picked had been discontinued.) And I was told the order was being placed. Three weeks later I call again for an update, am led on, told someone will call me back, no one ever does, I keep calling during the week and am finally told they have finally been ordered and should be shipped soon.\r \r I wait another week and call to check on the order and am told they are shipped from Phoenix and it should be 3-4 more days before they can be installed. Nothing happens after 4 days. I call again and am told they WILL finally be ordered so let's set up an install date for late July. I call to confirm on the day of install and am told they have been back ordered and the order hasn't started yet!!! I demand to know why I constantly am LIED to and why can't anyone EVER CALL me with updates? I DEMAND A REFUND and they relent to give me my $500 back. ""Are you sure because we really can place this order today and have it to you next week?"" Are they insane? She really said this to me!!\r \r After being lied to another 2 times (""oh, checks are cut August 1st and will go out the next day""....""Oh sorry, we really are printing the check today."") I finally got my refund check August 12. \r \r If I ran my company the way I have been treated I would be out of business. How do they do it? Simply call folks with updates and don't lie to them! THE ONLY THING THE BLINDA MAN WILL DO QUICKLY IS CASH YOUR CHECK.\r \r \r \r more

Avoid the Hassle 7/11/2011

I have had a similar bad experience as the others who have complained. This is the worst customer service I have had in a long time. We check around for priced on shutters. The sales lady who made the appointment to give us a bid came 30 minutes late. She explained the types of blinds and shutters they had and told us that The Blind Man would match the price of any competitor for the same quality. They had good prices so we decided to go with them. The lady made an appointment go come back a measure the windows. She arrived 45 minutes late for that appointment. We paid our half down and were promised that the blinds would be ready in 2 ? to 3 weeks.\r 3 weeks later we get a call saying that they can come on Friday, the end of the week. 3 ? weeks after we ordered the blinds and install them. We would have to be home form 11:00 am to 1:00 pm to meet the installation guy. My wife changed her schedule so she could be home during that time. At 10:00 am I get a call at work saying that our blinds are not ready and the guys to make them do not work on Fridays so they can more

Best Customer Service, EVER! 8/2/2010

I called The Blindman & a few of their competitors when I was looking into getting blinds in my new home. I was in a hurry to get them ordered & installed because I had company coming into town. I talked to a guy that works for The Blindman who does bids for them. I asked him if he could come out the next morning as early as possible so I could meet with him before I went to work. He did. He was very pleasent to deal with, he gave me all my options & told me his opinion when I asked. He was very educated on the products & prices. I was so pleased with his attitude, honesty & the product that I placed my order that morning. He also told me they were running a coupon but it hadn't mailed out yet but he gave me the discounted price anyways! The price was about $300 cheaper than others prices! He said it would be a couple of weeks until they could install. I asked if I could pay extra to have them rushed & installed this week. He said he would do what he could. Another Blindman employee came out that Friday night at 7 or 8 pm to install my blinds (& he was SO fast) just so I could have them in by saturday when my company arrived. They didn't charge me any extra for this either. I was so pleased with their customer service. My blinds are beautiful & I love them. I would highly recommend The Blindman to everyone. Way to go!!! 5/6/2010

We ordered some shutters from another company about 6 years ago and did'nt know what we were missing until we ordered from The Blindman. The quallity of their workmanship put our other shutters to shame. The Blindman came highly recommended from a friend of ours, and we would recommend them to all of our friends as well. They even helped us with the repairs on our old shutters that we couldnt seem to get the other company to service. Their price was reasonable and the product was impeccable. I only wish they did car repair.... Pros: They go the extra mile. Cons: They only do window coverings more

Terrible customer service 8/18/2009

When I ordered my shutters I was promised they would be installed in 4-6 weeks. 13 weeks later, I only have 2 of my 5 shutters installed. I have had such the run around with this company, it is insane. I have heard every excuse in the book... ""Your order got lost in the shuffle."" (Really? With this economy- you lost my order of $2600?). ""We don't have the right size wood in stock."" Really? When you took my order 13 weeks ago, with my 1/2 deposit maybe you should have ordered the wood to make them. The only time I would get any info. about my order was if I called them. Speedy customer service 8/11/2009

I dropped off a blackout shade at the Springville, Utah Blind Man fabrication facility 8/10/2009. The repair was completed and the shade/blind was ready to pick up the following morning 8/11/2009. This was our only repair needed on a house full of blinds that is now 4 years old. Good quality product and good customer service Blind Man !!!!!!!! Pros: Overnight repair more

Less than impressed 6/19/2009

Let me warn you about The Blind Man, so you won't be as frustrated as I am. My main problem is with their customer service, although I haven't been very impressed by their blinds either. First, After we ordered our blinds, they assured us that they would get them to us in no more than 2 weeks. After 2 1/2 weeks had passed, we called and found that some of the blinds we ordered they didn't have at the factory and were waiting on materials to arrive. Understandable, but still - why didn't they call me? Two weeks after that, we were still waiting and had not heard back. I called and they said they would install some of our blinds, but that the others were still waiting on materials. Again, why didn't someone call? In addition to that, the install guys only work Monday - Thursday. So if your blinds have problems on Thursday night like mine did (the bracket at the top of the blinds broke), don't expect anyone to even schedule an appointment until Monday -- if they call you back at all. These blinds aremade of the finest materials. they belong in castles. they give your home so much more value. I live alone and work in my garden and I just love to look up at my very expensive looking blinds. It's a treat I give myself. And it keeps on giving! Best Quality in Utah! 9/7/2007

I don't know what the other reviewer is talking about. My parents bought Blindman blinds over 10 years ago and haven't had any major problems with them. The few minor problems (blinds won't tilt, valence clips breaking) they've had with them, have been promptly fixed with no hassle or charge to my parents. I'm currently building my first home with my husband, and we won't buy anything but Blindman product. They really are the best on the market. Pros: Quality for a great price! Quality NOT Guaranteed 8/12/2006

Keep your eye on the Blind Man, especially the owner, who was a main player in the following tale. First, the bad: The blinds were the wrong brand, the wrong color, and were installed weeks after the promised delivery date. Now for the worse: The blinds began to break after a few months. The Blind Man dutifully fixed the blinds about every 3 months for a year. Then the warranty expired. Of course, the blinds continued to fail until every last one of them became inoperable. Already out several thousand dollars to install about 50 blinds in the first place, we were forced to fix the blinds ourselves now, which cost several hundred dollars more. I hope now you can see the Blind Man for what they truly are. Pros: Initial price Cons: Poor quality, poor service, long-term cost and frustration more
