Nice Zoo...but a little on the small side. 2/28/2006

The Baltimore Zoo is another one of Baltimore's attractions for the kids--while it is a very well kept, nice zoo with a decent number of animals, it is on the small side compared to some other zoos I've visited. All the same, worth a visit, particularly if you have kids. They have some really neat events during the year--among the best are the Halloween "Zoo Boo", the "Brew at the Zoo", where local wineries and breweries set up shop, and you can sample their products and enjoy fantastic music. more

A Roaring Good Time 2/9/2006

The Baltimore Zoo is a great afternoon destination during the summer months. In addition to their various animal displays, they also have impressive programming for grade-school aged children in the form of workshops, camps, and afternoon classes. I've also attended some of their special events, like Boo at the Zoo, Roar and Snore, and Brew at the Zoo. Brew at the Zoo is a not-to-be-missed event, where local wineries and breweries host tastings while local bands and DJs entertain. Just don't give the prairie dogs any alcohol-- those little guys are wild enough on their own! more

A great place for kids and adults 8/16/2005

The Baltimore Zoo is a wonderful place for families to take their kids. It's also a fun place for a first date. The place is very well kept and there is plenty to see. Sadly though, the zoo has lost some of its bigger exhibits because revenue is down and the zoo can no longer afford to keep them. The Zoo is great fun to visit and and the animals are adorable (well, not the snakes, etc), so definitely go and help support this activity! more

Small Zoo but Lots of Animals 8/6/2005

On the recommendation of a friend we took our son here for a day trip. Although the zoo is smaller than the Philadelphia or Washington DC zoos, it does have a bunch of animals. The ticket prices were very reasonable, in fact if you have an entertainment book there is a coupon in there. The food stand prices were also very reasonable and there was no cost for parking which is located across the street from the zoo. The zoo itself was very clean and well kept. more
