Love the Babysitters Guild! 3/29/2012

We absolutely love the Babysitters Guild in NYC! We have now used them 3 times and will definitely use them the next time we visit the city. We were nervous the first time, but once our sitter arrived and could have rivaled Mary Poppins, we were thrilled. We've requested the same sitter each time and have never been disappointed. Its clear how much she enjoys her job and takes it seriously and our kids love her. Couldn't recommend them more! Pros: null Cons: null more

I love Baby Sitters' Guild! 2/13/2012

I travel to NYC at least once a year with my child. I am very picky about the quality of his care and I was hesitant to leave him with a stranger in a strange city. Baby Sitter's Guild has put me totally at ease and I can't think of using anyone else when I'm in town. The sitter's are always punctual, professional and capable. In fact, I just returned from a trip and had a sitter keep my son for a large amount of time over two days. Instead of sitting around my hotel room, the sitter took him to a children's museum and Central Park. He had a blast. And, just as important, I didn't worry about him one bit while he was out. Pros: null Cons: null more

Great Babby Sitter In NYC During my meetings 8/18/2011

Took daugther on recent trip to NYC while I was on business. Sitter was young, smart, and capable. Needed no diretion and managed changes in plans. Allowed me to focus on pitch. Daughter was in great mood and happy when we reunited. Will use them again for sure. more

Not Happy 7/13/2010

Was surprised that sitter did not have the qualifications/certificates I was expecting. She did not play with the kids. She was not licensed or bonded--I believe that there is no license except the city business license, so I feel that I was misled by the agency claiming to be "licensed!" Pros: none Cons: completely misled by the agency more

Exellent! I use them every time I come to New York! 2/16/2010

The baby sitter Guild is amazing!! My husband and I travel a lot for work and I use the Baby sitters Guild every time I travel to New York. I was introduced to them by a friend and I have used them ever since. All of the sitters are trust worthy, friendly, and always on time. The really know how to handle children. It is such a relieve to know that my children are in good hands while working in a foreign city. And speaking of foreign they have many baby sitters on staff that speaks several different languages! more

Sitter yelled at my kids! 7/6/2009

We stayed at a 5 stars hotel on our vacation to NYC and we expected the sitter to be top notch too! Not the case! Pros: none more

Exceptionally well-run 8/26/2008

I worked for this co. while I was in my 20's in NY and this is extremely well-run. I was put through an extensive background check and had to earn many certifications before they would agree to hire me. I met all sorts of different families from around the world and I enjoyed sitting for all their children. It was also the most fun job I ever had (I'm in corporate America now :( ) You can rest assured that any sitter that shows up at your door will be extremely professional and trained. Highly recommended. more

Sitter was a NO-SHOW!! 12/12/2005

We booked a sitter a week in advance and were all set to go. The sitter showed up at the hotel early, so we asked her to wait in the lobby ten minutes for us to get dressed. Unfortunately, another lady who needed a sitter came to the lobby, grabbed our sitter and left. The sitter had all of our info, yet did not realize that she was with the wrong family. We were out $300 theatre tickets, our anniversary night out, and received no help from the agency, who insisted that it was somehow our own fault! DO NOT USE!! Pros: NONE Cons: No-show, unsympathetic, no reimbursement more
