Found the mean fiddler thru citysearch looking for a place that could handle after work party of 30 people and this place made me feel straight at home.Its right across from MY OLD FAVOURITE BAR SCRUFFY DUFFY'S.Its actually very similar pool,darts,video games,jukebox.I was delighted even more to find an old friend and bartender MICHAEL who used to work at Scruffys.He has a great way of making you feel special.He even remembered my name and the rest is history.They have a great bar staff ie ALBERT I LOVE YOU!We had a ball the happy hour was amazing 3.50 beers $5 martini's and mixed drinks. This bar is aptly name The Mean Fiddler. The bartender told my friend off for her mishearing our drink order! I couldn't believe it- all this at Happy Hour too !?! So far- this year- in all my New York nights out- this is definitely the worst experience so far. Go to Kevin St. James or Scruffy Duffy's around the corner and avoid this walk-down dungeon. excellent,need i say more.been goin to the mean fiddler the last few weekends now and i love it.the staff are 10 outta 10.service is great and they make u feel comfortable which is very important.prices are very reasonable for such a trendy place.its a dico bar wit pool and darts and when the girls get warmed up they dance on the bar,do body shots and the bartenders cool them down with water hoses.even during the week it seems very busy with guest bartenders and karaoke so thers always a great atmosphere.ull never b disappointed.i havnt had a bad nite there yet Pros: service and atmosphere Cons: cant think of any more

Just moved to the neighbourhood from Austin,Texas and i thought i was back on 6th street.Its nice to go to a bar where you feel the bartender enjoy's his job.The whole crew just made me feel welcome.It was a saturday evening and it seemed pretty quite but what a difference an hour makes.I guess it's the batchelorette bar of new york as the place was flooded with them and they created there own party by getting up on the bar..shots body shots etc.I can't remember leaving but what won me over was when i went back a few nights later the owner/slash bartender knew my name.So thanks Michael for introducing me to NYC and making me feel welcome.God Bless The Irish Pros: bartenders,Dj live music,dancing,girls gone wild Cons: China club next door more

I came here last week for the first time and I must say that I was impressed. I had passed this place so many times and never thought about entering. I remember the opening of this place! This night I was on my way to another place and my friend reccomended the place. I decided to go and it was great! The staff was so nice even the doorman! The music was great and it suited everyone. I had my 30th birthday party at the Mean Fiddler and it was brilliant. They set it up down stairs in the Party Room and it was just like having your own club. They had a disco ball and the sound system was off the hook. The Staff there were amazing. So friendly and Everything and anything i needed for the party was provided. Friendly staff who have the irish brogue both male and female.Great happy hour $3 pints from 11 to 8 martini's only $5.Played pool then some darts.Place just felt warm as soon as we walked and were greeted with a big irish hello.The bar is like cheers square bar don't know any other in manhattan and it definitely gives u that feel. Me and my girlfriends wanted a place to dance without paying $8 a beer and no cover and we found it.The name Sounds very old school irish but its quite the opposite.The only thing irish was its bartenders and customers who took care off us and gave us the irish buy back.This place is only mean in attitude not service.It more of a downtown feel.The dj was fantastic playing rock/disco/80's/hip-hop and house.When we went it looked like the usual pub darts/pool but then the lights go down and the disco lights come on and everybody starts dancing.Thanks for an amazing nite of fun.we will be back Pros: Friendly warm staff good prices normal people Cons: No food of yet more

This is one of the new wave of trendy irish bars to emerge.Its decor gives off a club/lounge feel.By the name i assumed it like the rest but not to be.The night was kicked off with there dj followed by a group of lovely ladies dancing on the bar!We all danced the night away to great music and lovely women.The irish staff were great and the prices rightI'll be back Pros: Great atmosphere Coyote Ugly with Style more
