My party and myself from Birmingham England have now visited this Bar on 12 different occasions and every time has been sesational for food,Staff pleasentness and very good value drinks.Highly recommend you visit and just experience for yourself. more

My friend gathered a bunch of people for his birthday and we were all set to go to China Club- they refused to honor what they sent him in a promotional e-mail and I've never seen my friend madder. We rushed him into the nearest bar without a cover to get a drink. What a stroke of luck that place was the Mean Fiddler! \r \r We had an AMAZING time, drank a lot, danced on the bar (and dressy or not we had some pretty girls with us so we were asked to get back up again a few times), had car bombs and we barely remembered the earlier fiasco. We go back every year now- it's been 4 years. Sadly, we don't go back at other times but I always reccomend this place and would go back in an instant. there was one year where a private party blocked the bar and they didn't allow us to dance on it but we still had fun. I have never been downstairs though in all these years. \r \r I credit the Mean Fiddler with saving my friends birthday and the evening for about 30 people - turned our frowns upside down! Nice friendly bartendars where you always feel welcomed. Great happy hour and food that is delicious, especially the Sliders & Pot Pie. In the night dancing over takes bar. Pros: Always something good going on. Cons: There's only one Fiddler. more

So i had to raise alot of money in a short time for a race i am doing.I was in such a panic but a friend of mine put me on to the mean fiddler.From the get go the owner was so helpfull he helped me organize a strategy for prizes, games and drink specials.Everyone had a blast and we raised a pile of money.The Bartenders were so nice so thanks for all your help.Jenny G Pros: Staff and Management Cons: Zero more

We were in a rush for a show picked up our tickets at Theatre so we wanted something quick and easy.The lady at the box office instructed us to go the Angry Fiddler{for some reason thats what keeps sticking in head}.Like any other place thats being a bar for a long time it has that beer smell but you quickly get over that with $4 pints of guinness and $1 sliders.We had a nice bartender who knew we had little time and took good care.We ended up going back at intermission to avoid the toilet lines and have a few quick shots.Highly recommended for anyone for the show.. So this place is truly off the hook.From the outside its very deceving seems like just another old irish bar and even when you go in you are a little puzzled.They have club like after work party in there downstairs bar not our scene so continue on but when we saw $4 imports and $1 sliders we were sold.The waitress was cool and set us in the back where they had beer pong and we all threw back the years and preteneded we were back in college.They had Plasmas everywhere ya looked and even put on my beloved RED SOX which pleased me no end.The bartenders were all irish and cool so thats always a plus. This Bar makes ya feel like a old New York Tavern.Its not the trendiest or coolest but it has a warm feel to it.The bartenders are cool make ya feel at home.We live directly across the street so we are going to say nice things.But honestly i would usually not step into a bar like this but where else in the Theatre district can you play beer pong with Pierce Brosnan which happened me last week.It had a drunken college vibe with people from jersey and long island but thats what makes it fun. Was looking for after work spot for our office to have some games throw back beers and not spend too much money in the area as we no longer have expense accounts.We took the downstairs which looks a little like a punk rock club from the village so besides the look it was good for our group.The bartender names Alan took real good care off us and always had something funny to say.We played darts and beer pong and played pool as well. We as a work group like to try different sports/dive bars in nyc.We give a rating on the usual service,tvs,games and wings.Overall the this bar is unique as its off the beaten path you have to walk down into it from the outside it appears dark and dingy .We were told there was a pool table but the bartender informed us that was back in the day.We proceeded to take advantage of its happy hour and had a game off beer pong with some happy but broke students.We enjoyed the wings had there own special sauce so overall we gave this place a 7.. ok so we come to nyc a few times a month and since we work for the irish airlines we can go anywhere in nyc but we choose this bar/club over anywhere else because its a fun place.Its a not a bar for a quiet prudish people as it a party bar reminds me of Copper Face jacks in dublin except wilder.The staff are great the dj rocks you get free shots for dancing on the bar whats more to ask for?Mean Fiddler Rocks Pros: free shots mental bar staff Cons: there is none in ireland more

So we came to nyc with high expectations the city that never sleeps.So our impressions of nyc are the yanks are dry serious people.We were made feel like unwelcome in any bar we went to we even were cut off in a few bars when all we were doing were having the craic and acting the gombeen.So anyway i writing in to let all my fellow irish men this pub is what you want.Avoid for the first few days and you'll understand what i mean.It has all irish staff who know how to pour a drink and they never cut you off.Its a true irish pub.The place is hopping with half dressed women and the music is like from home so say no more..Loving the mean fiddler Pros: women and late night drinks Cons: why mention the good out beats the bad more

The atmosphere was electric the bar has an energy which i have only ever seen in Temple bar or copper face jacks in DUBLIN.No frills place everyone gets hammered anything goes girls on girls doing shots dancing on bar etc.I was on holidays with my missus and we avoided irish bars untill we realised the american bars are rubbish[NOT ALLOWED SAY ANYTHING ELSE} this place not be trendy but it has more energy than a can of red bull.If you are looking for a wild place to get whacked this is the place.I only found it on my last nite so thats why i'm writing in to anyone from ireland or england.Cheers Albert and Michael Pros: good music,late drinks,happy times Cons: the jacks! more

Ok so there is a million and one bars in the city so why should i write anything good about this place?Two reasons one is myself and my girlfriends love this place as we always get treated like royalty.The staff are always on point.We come for the happy hour and end up staying for the night crowd.Second reason everything about this place reminds me of the cheers from the square bar to the steps down and i wanted to spread the word. I am writing in because simply i love this place as do all staff at the Hard Rock Restaurant.This bar is known locally as an industry bar meaning bars/restaurants/hotels etc all hang out here.The Staff who have worked locally for years have a great level of respect for any one that walks in.Alex the bouncer who gets abused nightly{try it one night} does amazing job so when you get hammered and stupid he is there to protect you.The owners are hands on and you'll always find Patrick or michael on any given night.When we arrive at fiddler we are always well greeted .Its only downfall after a crazy night of working it can be too much of a party bar but thats why we love the downstairs bar where we play pool and beer pong and the amazing Alan works the bar.
