The Cut Salon

I can?t say enough positive things about the Cut Salon. I get my hair cut about once every six weeks. I have been happy with the results each visit and and the atmosphere and the culture inviting and friendly. There is easy parking in the back and I have never had a problem getting an appointment that fits into my schedule. The girls that work there are friendly, outgoing and interesting. I take my children often just to say hi because of the relationship they have developed with everyone there. I would highly recommend it(and I have) to my friends and co-workers. I don't usually write reviews but felt that The Cut Salon deserved it! Alyssa cut my hair and did an absolutely fabulous job. We sat and spoke about what I was looking for and how she would do it and all the pieces just fell together. She did exactly what she said and luckily I went on a week day during the day because I was in and out of there in 40 minutes with an amazing hair cut and she straightened my hair faster than anyone around! I recently had the pleasure of visiting the cut salon for the first time and will have to say the over all experience was quite nice. Ashley, receptionist/shampoo girl was friendly, charming and gives a great head massage. My stylist, Alyssa and I consulted for quite a long time and together we came up with a color and style that would be right for me. I am happy to report, this is the best my hair has looked in years and the price was not bad either. Thanks ladies, you will see me again. Pros: Friendly more

I absolutely love my haircut and my color and I would definitely go back again...My stylist was honest in my consultation and we discussed each step before taking it....I was so relieved to find a salon in LA that is affordable and has great results! I live in the neighborhood and have passed this salon many times. After researching it here, I decided to try it out. I tried to request several stylist mentioned in the good reviews and was surprised that it seems, that these people do not exist. I finally got one and well it all comes down to this ""you get what you pay for"". Judging by the quality of service and appearance, i would say this is a chain salon, but slightly higher in pricing. The cut was okay being that i only needed a trim, but no style in the end result. This place was not my cup of tea. more

I just moved to Santa Monica form Brooklyn about two months ago. And I have had some bad experiences with some of the other local salons. So, I decided to come here to City Search, and The Cut had the best reviews, so I gave it a shot. Man, was I impressed. I got my hair cut by Alyssa, and not only was she really cute, but she was asble to understand exactly how I wanted my hair cut, something which my previous stylist's had found very difficult. I am very satisfied with my hair cut. The atmosphere is very clean and modern, and it seems like everyone who works there is really enjoying themselves. On top of all that I got 5 dollars off a price that was already 10 dollars less expensive than my last hair cut. I definitely recommend this salon to everyone. I am definitely a loyal customer. I recently was referred to The Cut through a college friend, and I wont be returning. My stylist was completely lacking experience (Ill try and be decent in not saying her name) and personality. I did not feel comfortable from her or the atmosphere. Being that it is my first time, I would have expected a little bit of a consultation , but instead I felt I was very rushed throught the experience. Maybe some people like this treatment from a stylist, but I certainly dont. Pros: parking--being the only one more

If it wasn't for my stylist, I wouldn't have thought of patronizing the business. Granted..the proximity and parking is convenient as is the coffee joint & pizza parlor next door (both are soon to be evicted, I believe, due to gentrification of building!). I must say tho, the atmosphere of minimalist lite-industrial is taken a bit too far and the need for a fresh coat of paint does not lend itself to a clean & comfortable place. The Staff is affable & it's always great to see everyone albeit not in a beat up cramped warehouse. I'll keep showing up cuz it's for The Cut! more

Dont believe the hype. I read it was a good salon for men's cuts, but i think they must be writing the reviews themselves. I got in on a saturday last minute, and i realize it was last minute, but if they didnt have the time, well they should have turned me down. I was in and out in 15 mins. Basically i got a cheapy cut for twice the price. more

I recommend the Cut Salon to any guy who is looking for a place where the stylist listens to you and adds the highest level of skill in a great haircut.. On Superbowl Sunday, I needed a haircut the day before my first day at work. I walked into the salon to find they had a full schedule until closing. Within minutes of walking in I was able to schedule an appointment for the next day... and with the help of Christina the Booking Agent, I was able to get a last minute appointment with Jeanie within an hour of closing time during the game. (Working as a team they saved me from the first impression of needing a haircut on my first day of work.)\r \r An Excellent Cut to my specifications, and Jeanie has the talent to know what to do to make a great haircut -far above that avereage new haircut when you move to a new city. The price was $10 less than a salon I checked earlier in the day- very reasonable for the area, plus Christina was nice and extremely polite, she made sure I received a $5 discount for finding the salon on Citysearch. \r \r Jeanie has a very high attention to detail, I feel like she earned a well deserved tip. I would recommend her and the salon to any guy needing a professional hair cut for an important appointment like your first day at work. I found The Cut on Citysearch and went in on a whim. Jeanie is an excellent stylist. She talked to me for a good length of time about what I wanted my hair to look like before jumping into the cut, making me feel comfortable and confident that she knew what I wanted. She did a precise job replicating a picture I brought in of the cut I wanted to get, and honestly talked to me about modifying the cut to fit my fine hair- a refreshing and appreciated experience. As everyone has mentioned this place is great. As I'm from asia, my curly hair gets frizzy extra fast so when I arrived in LA it wasn't in its best shape. I booked an appointment with Sarah after reading reviews online about how good she was with curly hair. So I got there & realised how simple the deco was which surprisingly was really quite nice. It seemed very unpretentious & clean. Generally, the atmosphere is very relaxed and easy going which i loved. Anyway I told sarah my problem and she listened intently. The haircut was great and she kept the length which can be a huge problem with curly haired girls. She got so excited by how curly it was and was extremely enthusiastic which amused me. Furthermore, she was alot of fun to chat with. It didnt take too long and the price was very reasonable. My highlights were awesome as well. I first sent my husband to The Cut after his long-time stylist moved on. He liked it so much, I decided to give it a try. First time, I loved it - Alyssa gave me great natural highlights and a great cut for my long hair. A month ago, I decided to donate my hair. I went back to Alyssa and was, frankly, a mess. She was great, understanding, and cut off my 8 inches without freaking me out more than I already was! She gave me such a cute style and new color for the new cut. Roberta Westcott is the best hairstylist in LA. She is great at cutting hair and styling it, as well as always a fun person to hang out with. All of the girls at the cut salon make you feel welcome and do a great job cutting your hair to look good. You have to check out the Cut. more

Whew! Moved to LA and hair was dying after 5months on the road; they booked me in straight away and cured my hair of it's split ends, worn-out colour, and did the job! Totally accommodating, properly listened to what I wanted and needed, did not try to push products on me and generally a happy, relaxed place to be! Thank YOU! I heard about The Cut through a friend. I called and they were able to book me an appointment time. Went in, and although I expected to wait, I didn't expect to wait as long as I did. I understand that appointment times are not exact. Afterall, the stylist isn't really able to cut someone's hair in exactly 30 minutes and what not,... but I was in for a surprise. I waited an hour and a half! I felt like the stylist really rushed through my cut and color, which isn't fair to me. The color job was average, and maybe a little splotchy. My cut was really a trim. I don't know if I would go back or not because the people there were nice, and I'd like to give her the benefit of the doubt. Luckily, I didn't do anything too dramatic to my hair.
