Best

Great solid place, never disappointed with the chef.

Worst

I visited this establishment on a recent Thursday evening by reservation. The Brooklyn is a good restaurant. Having said that, there are many things to bear in mind when you walk ...

Abosultely Perfect! 1/19/2005

I'd have to say this was one of the best dining experiences I have had....ever! The service is unmatched- everyone was unbelievably accommodating and their food/beverage knowledge was far above par. The cocktails were terrific! The oysters were fresh and delicious. The menu offers something for everyone. The crabcakes were amazing! Everything was perfect! I would highly recommend The Brooklyn to anyone. Pros: Service, Food, Drink Menu more

Good place in every regard 11/30/2004

Have eaten at The Brooklyn many times. I've been seated in the booths, have sat at the Chef's Counter and have enjoyed the bar. Try the Oyster Festival every October. The Kumamoto's along with ale shooters is wonderful. Service at this restaurant is always top notch. Wine flights are a treat. I never feel like the staff is pushing me out so they can turn the table like the staff at The Met does. Try this place. Get a reservation if possible...your wait will be a lot shorter. This place is popular!!! Pros: Food, Service, Oysters Cons: , Nothing else more

Concierge Favorite 8/18/2003

It's my downtown fixture: a favorite for any mood, any craving. The award-winning staff has never let me down. (They're all terrific, but ask for Adam if you're lucky!) And every entree I order exceeds the last in quality and value. The atmosphere is just right for me: comfortable, but not lazy; nice, but not fancy; cool, but not cheesy. If you have the chance to meet Alon (""the guy behind the guy"") you'll see what makes this place rock. Pros: food quality, value, laid-back Cons: busybusybusy! more

In or Out - It's Superb! 7/23/2003

I have frequented this spot every two months or so. Food and drinks have always been great. But I guess I take dining out for granted because I do it so often. But when impractical out-of-town cuisine hounds begin to belittle a staff that is keeping efficient in an awkward outside setting - I must stand and applaud the service staff at The Brooklyn! Go - drink - feast on oysters - try every dessert - enjoy one of Seattle's standard spots - and remember to thank and tip your server! Well Done! Pros: Arty Outdoor Tables, Cocktails are great, Save Room for Dessert Cons: Parking more

Must haves! 4/7/2003

The two best buys on the menu are the Garlic Chicken and the Rogueford Medallions! Anything else is a waste of time! Pros: excellent service, great sauces, superb chowder Cons: need reservations, a little noisey, a little dark more

Highly overrated 2/25/2003

We had dinner at the Brooklyn on 2/22. We had heard that this was a good seafood restaurant. When we saw our Tiger Prawns stuck in mashed potatoes, we thought you have got to be kidding!!!! It was the type of food where the more you chewed the bigger it seem to get. The prawns were way overdone and tough. The crab cakes were excellent! Too bad it was only listed as an appetizer! The service was excellent. Definitely not worth the price! Extremely expensive for how little you get! Definitely doesn't live up to it's reputation. Pros: service, atmosphere Cons: food, price more

Good food, what else do you need? 10/18/2002

Everytime I've gone to the Broklyn for dinner I have not been disappointed. The food is great and they are very accommodating to special food needs. more

Damn tasty halibut (and more) 9/1/2002

Stick to the fresh seafood and you won't go wrong. The halibut, salmon, and marlin were all delicious. I was with a picky seafood eating crowd and everyone was in love with these great fish dishes... Pros: FRESH Fish, Friendly Waiter Cons: Pricey, Bar atmosphere more

Salmon to die for 8/15/2002

Of course the oysters are wonderful, but the other seafood is tremendous. And the seafood salad for lunch is a winner, but only if you're really hungry or like leftovers! Pros: Delicious, Selection, "Bar" seating Cons: Dark more

a little caviar with your vodka? 8/9/2002

The reason why I head to the Brooklyn as often as I can is for one thing...the vodka and oyster taster platter. It is a beautiful presentatin. 4 supple looking oyters in the half shell surrounded by 4 overflowing shots of high-end vodka, all cradled by a mound of crushed ice. In the middle lies a cup of distictly 'Brooklyn' freshly shaved horseraddish and cocktail sauce. Did I forget to mention that each oyster proudly carries a large wallup of caviar? For ten bucks I must say that it is an incredible deal for a scrumptious after work appetizer and an unbelievable buzz. A must have for any true oyster lover and for the virgin oyster taster. more

Best Food In Seattle 8/7/2002

This place is the best, great service, great food, great atmosphere. They've got everything too, like their name says, Seafood, Steak and Oysters, I dont really care for Oysters, but I can tell their selection is superb. The clam chowder at the Brooklyn is hands down the best in Seattle, the Ribs are to die for. If only they'd bring back the Tandori Ahi Ahi. more

Cold and Fresh! 8/2/2002

The Brooklyn has never disappointed me. I have been lucky I guess and have always had great service and food! Especially those oysters. Sit at the bar and let them recommend or answer your questions. Mix up the types you get and be sure to have a glass of Sancerre to go with it! They also have fantastic clam chowder, halibut, etc! The only thing we ever have a problem with is the valet. First off it is not complimentary- it is $6. And there is usually just one working so it takes forever! more
