Best beer selection in North Georgia, knowledgable staff 7/9/2007

If I was to open a bar, and I might one day, it would be like this. Perfect. The best beer selection in the Atlanta area and a knowledgeable staff to go along with it. I'm not talking like Taco Mac, ""we've got 5 million beers to choose from"". I'm talking a huge selection of beers that you might actually want to drink. The wait can be unbearable on the weekends, so your best times are during the week. Food is really good but in my opinion as a chef, could be better and a little more off the beaten path. Don't get me wrong though, this place is as perfect as a bar comes down to every little detail. Even the bathrooms are cool. Do yourself a favor, especially if you like beer, and come down to the Brick Store. Pros: beer, beer, and more beer Cons: busy on weekends more

Great for late night eats 7/9/2007

Although the lines can be long for seating on weekend nights (but where isn't?), it is well worth the wait. Not only is the beer selection huge, but the food, where bar eats are concerned, is phenomenally fitting. The ""Volcano"" - a huge portion of their Brunswick stew in a sourdough bread bowl is absolutely delicious. While some dishes, like the baked brie, could be easily made at home, it's still worth getting to munch on. The fish and chips are close to original British fare, although the fish isn't quite the same, it's usually piping hot & the chips are more than up to par. Only draw back besides the lines is the lack of cider choices. Pros: Great spot to grab a beer & chat with friends over food Cons: Longish lines more

Solid Brick House-Drafts/Ales, Fish & Chips & Friendly Patrons! 1/17/2007

What can I say about The Brick Store Pub, on the Decatur Square, that has not already been said. It's just one of those establishments, like Atkins Park, that you are compelled to come into, if you are in the area. Friendly service, friendly patrons, and just a casual atmosphere, that makes you want to stay all-day, on a Saturday or Sunday. And thank goodness, no TV's! BSP has one of the best beer selections in the metro-both draft, and bottled imported Ales. Bar menu is delicious, with our personal favorite being the delicious Fish 'N Chips. It's the real deal, splash some malt vinegar on top, and chow down. By far, one of the best pubs in metro. Pros: Terrific Beer & Imported Ale Selection & Bar Menu! Cons: Parking, Is Always A Hassel In Decatur Square! more

Perfect! 1/2/2007

If you enjoy trying new drinks, having conversation with friends, and being in a friendly, cozy, environment, this is your place. The food is great too, from their fish and chips to burgers. My favorite bar in Atlanta. There are no tvs, no huge dance floor, and no watered down, ordinary, cheap bears (Bud, Coors, etc) but there is an incredible selection of Belgian and other imported beers, as well as microbrews from accross the US. I may be biased since I work in Decatur, but this place is truely amazing and authentic! Look for this place to be around in a few decades, as opposed to other overly-trendy fly-by-night places. I was there for New Years eve as well and it was a great experience. Higly reccommended. Pros: Everything Cons: Can get crowded on weekends...but isn't that a good sign? more

True pub style with southern hospitality 1/2/2007

My husband and I went to Brick Store Pub on New Year's Eve with my brother and his girlfriend and it was not at all what I had expected it to be - it was far better. Brick Store pub is an authentic pub right down to the decor and atmosphere. With two bar areas, one upstairs, one downstairs, and a lengthy beer menu, both foreign and domestic, it is heaven for serious beer connoisseurs. The food, your typical pub food with a twist, is simple, ample, and delicious. The Brick Burger and the Turkey Burger are particularly excellent. The food menu and the beer menu are very reasonable. Our party of four had a burger and a beer each totalling right at $50 - extremely reasonable for dinner out in the city. If you go on a crowded night, stick out the wait, you will be happy that you did. Brick Store is a place that you can frequent and get to the know the staff on a first name basis - as my brother and his friends have - which doesn't happen very often anymore. It is truly a hidden treasure in a city full of trendy restaurants. We will certainly be returning to Brick Store in the future. Pros: friendly people, authentic atmosphere, great food and beer Cons: limited space - wait times could be lengthy on weekends, but it is well worth a wait more

Best Beer Assortment in Decatur!! 9/24/2006

The Brick Store Pub has an amazing beer selection. I have tried over a 150 beers and the Brick always has something new for me to try. Be sure to try St Bernarduss it is smooth and flavorful. Their menu offers items that are not your typical pub fare. I had the peirogies (it's late I can't spell) in the garlic cream sauce and they were delicious!! This is definately one of my top 3 favorite spots in Decatur. It is one of my favorite Pubs, overall, in the Greater Atlanta area, which is saying a lot. Ask for Greg if you want outstanding service and accurate recommendations according to your taste. more

Eat the mustard. 7/28/2006

My friends only go here when they are back in town. Watch out for high gravity. Check the alcohol content before ordering three. more

Fantastic place to spend an evening 6/18/2006

The Brickstore has been my favorite pub for years. EXCELLENT beer and scotch selection, relaxed atmoshere and the food is really good...especially for a pub! No televisions which is just how a pub should be. The interior is quite cozy and the booths are very spacious and comfortable. The waitstaff is friendly and the customer base is pretty diverse. The weekends get pretty crowded but the weeknights are ideal. I highly recommend this bar. I drive all the way from Dunwoody just to go. Pros: Beverages, atmoshere, food Cons: Limited parking. more

Good times in Decatur 11/22/2002

Damn fine bar, and well worth the trip if you live in Midtown. Parking was a bit hard to come by, and then it was metered, but that was probably the only down side to this bar. Interior is low-lit but not too dark, service was prompt & friendly, seemed to be the perfect size with lots of boothes. The crowning achievement: the finest selection of imports & microbrews in town, and at decent prices. Most are bottled, but who cares? Lots of scotch choices too, if you're into that. No TVs that I saw (I could be wrong), just like a pub should be. Pros: Many good beers, Excellent atmosphere, Decent prices Cons: Scarce parking more

something for everyone 9/12/2002

This place has it all! The menu is simple, but the food is wonderful. I was pleasantly suprised by how good a salad and veggie sandwich could be at a pub! Great atmosphere, great food, great prices! more

Best beer selection around 9/6/2002

This place is the best! A great beer list (but no Bud, Miller, etc., just imports and microbrews) which features over 80 different kinds and rotates so you can never try them all, delicious pub food and a relaxed atmosphere. Try the roast beef sandwich and the pretzels with spicy mustard. Pros: relaxed atmosphere, friendly service, good food Cons: hard to park more

gotta love it 9/3/2002

Brick Store Pub is one of the best restuarants in Decatur. Love the beers, service and food, cheap too !! more

best bar in town! 8/31/2002

Brick store is a great palce to meet after work, weeknights, weekends, whenever! Best pub food around, excellent and friendly service, and best beer selection I've seen on the east coast. The only drawback is that it gets crowded, and very smoky the later it gets, and you come home reeking of cigarette smoke. Pros: great beer selection, cool atmosphere, friendly service Cons: cigarette smoke, crowded more
