Best

I went to Brewer's Art with a group of 10 people to celebrate my birthday. The accommodations were easy for them, even at the tail end of restaurant week. We got in a little ear...

Worst

Even though I have friends that recommend Brewer's Art, I have never had a pleasant experience. The bartenders are rude, ignore patrons and do not abide by ""the customer is alway...

beer and great bar food 3/23/2006

The bar at the Brewer's Art is a great chill hangout spot. If i liked beer, i'd be in heaven with all the interesting-sounding brews. If you go, be sure to order the garlic french fries - probably the best bar food you'll ever eat. They're garlicy and topped with rosemary - absolute perfection! I dream of those french fries.... more

A Place for Everyone 2/4/2006

I wish I would have responded earlier when I heard rave reviews of the Brewer's Art in Baltimore. This fantastic microbrewery restaurant features some innovative and creatively-named beer, two great social atmospheres, and some amazing fries! The upstairs is styled in very modern, upscale chic furniture; downstairs, however, is a cross between a traditional wood-laden tavern and a dungeon. Although the upstairs is nice, I would suggest making your way downstairs to one of the dimly-lit nooks for a Proletariat ale and their delicious rosemary-garlic fries with mayo. If you're still thirsty, try their Belgian-inspired Ozzy or one of my personal favorites, their dubbel, Resurrection. more

Wonderful microbrewery and eatery 2/1/2006

The Brewer's Art is one of the better Baltimore microbreweries. They have a wonderful assortment of beers--their Proletariat (a very dark beer) and their Resurrection (a red beer) are my favorites. They have two bars in the establishment--the first is upstairs and is a very classy place to bring a date, while the second is located in the basement--a great place to hang out with friends. Their food is also very good--especially the rosemary garlic french fries. Yum! more

Great beer and fries, and much more 8/5/2005

On Charles Street, Brewer’s Art has become a favorite happy hour spot for workers in the area, and with good reason—there’s no better beer or garlic rosemary fries anywhere in the city, and you get to consume them on a comfy couch or perched in the window watching everyone else stuck in traffic. I’m happy to make a meal out of the beer and fries alone, with the occasional veggie pizza thrown in. The beer, of course, is their own brew and makes a trip to Brewer’s Art worthwhile in and of itself, but if you venture beyond the bar, you’ll find a very fine restaurant that we save for special occasions. The casual atmosphere of the bar disappears entirely—this is a low-lit, small table, quiet service, fine food restaurant. I love how it still looks like the gorgeous house it once was. The food has improved since they opened—on my first visit there shortly after they opened, I was disappointed with a very tough cut of veal, but since then I’ve had nothing but good experiences. more
