used to buy and sell comic books at the Book Stop over 25yrs ago when I was a kid. Back then they were still on East Meadow Avenue, (it was called Newbridge Avenue at the time) at the corner of Prospect Avenue, next to what is now a sign store (used to be Abbey Rentals). I am glad to see they are still around and going strong. more

a great little known place 10/6/2005

If you didn't know it was there you may go right past it. This little store has every book you can think of and they charge way less than the big book stores. The staff is great and if you know what type of book you want they will make great recommendations for you. I have gotten some great books and loved them all. more

Reduce Reuse & Recycle -- BOOKS! 8/20/2005

I love books but there comes a point when you just have no more room. An elementary school teacher told me about The Book Stop. Unless things have changed you can bring in books you have already read and see if you can get store credit. Use your credit to get more books to read. When you are done get more credit . . . What a wonderful cycle. Sure you can go to the library but it is nice to know you can keep the book for yourself if it becomes a favorite . . . I still have the copy of Man Woman & Child I was able to find there so very many years ago. more

the book stop 7/18/2005

the book stop is a small little bookshop located on east meadow avenue that has a nice shopping experience. Choose out of tons of titles, from virtually every genre under the sun, available at fabulous discounts. Buying Bookswas never before so exciting or convenient. It is nice to purchase from a small little local bookstore than these huge chains- the people in here are nice and helpful more
