I have been taking my dogs to Mt. Lookout Animal Hospital for 14 years. I have worked with Paul, Bev and Carrie. These vets are the real deal. I have had my dogs (3) that have had very serious diseases, cancer and a very rare blood disease. Dr. Paul and Dr. Bev both referred me to vets who specialized in both of my dogs problems. After they were we treated ,surgery and transfusions, Paul, Bev and Carrie were always there for me.Unfortunately I lost one of my girls to cancer because it was too advanced. My other two dogs are still alive today because of the quick diagnosis and excellent treatment. Yes they are expensive ,but they also use the top of the line equipment and continue to upgrade their practice regularly. I have trusted them with my family of pets and will always in the future more

concern for cat 11/12/2010

As owner of The Animal Hospital On Mt. Lookout Sq., I find it imperative that I comment on Mary J's "review" below. This individual has been pasting this same review on various websites and then removing it when I respond. Firstly, the author of this post did not accompany his aunt, the cat's owner, and therefore was not privy to the conversation. Although she was not an established client of our hospital, we told her we would gladly accomodate her however it would be at least 30 minutes before the veterinarians were to arrive for the scheduled morning appointments. We advised if she wanted to be seen sooner, it might behoove her to go to the emergency clinic approximately 10 minutes from our hospital. She elected to stay and wait for the Drs. to arrive.\r \r When the veterinarian arrived it was determined that the cat was not in an emergency situation like the owner thought and it would be OK to see the scheduled appointment first. However, to expidite the process, the owner was asked i more

Won't go anywhere else 9/17/2010

I've been taking my dog there for the past few years. I'm extremely impressed with all of the vets and staff members. The owners are both veterinarians and they're knowlegable, kind and it has been my experience that they won't do any unnecessary procedures. My nephew took his older dog there after he was having trouble with his dog and after seeing another vet - and now, like me, he won't go anywhere else. more

Don't trust this hospital! 7/22/2010

PLEASE TAKE YOUR PET FOR A 2ND OPINION! My 85yr. old Aunt took her 16yr old cat into this hospital when he seemed to be in distress. Her regular vet was unavailable at the time. Two hours and $330 later, she was told that he had to have three teeth extracted, had a moderate heart murmur and only had 35% kidney function. The estimate for extracting the teeth was anywhere from $550-$1000! We took the cat to his regular vet two days later and found that there was nothing wrong with his teeth but some tarter (and indeed his gums looked great for his age!). He did have a very small heart murmur and his kidneys have only lost a minute amount of function. All in all the vet said he was in wonderful shape for his age and if he didn't know better, he would have estimated his age to be around 9 or 10.\r The charge for the time and the bloodwork at the vet totalled only $150.\r This hospital not only bilked an elderly woman out of money she really can't afford but they were also prepared to more

Dr. levitas and staff are the greatest in the tri-state. 1/13/2009

My girlfriend and i have been taking our animals, dogs, cats, snakes etc. to Dr. Levitas for over 6 yrs. now. we have not had one bad experience, which statistically we have taken dozens of animals ( as well as referred others), we foster and rescue k-9`sand between Levitas and his wife Dr. Ramos they have never misdiagnosed any of the cases we`ve brought to them. Dr. levitas is a great man that still has the PASSION im sure he started with.great man great practice. gooday more

Very Professional 12/8/2005

This is a very professional clinic- You feel like you are at your doctor's office. Very clean and on time. Our main reason for switching vets is that they are very costly. Do not expect to go out the door under a 100 for a general visit. We were impressed with all the vets - they have 5 and we had 3 different ones. PROS: Very Professional, Good Care CONS: Very Expensive more

I wish all vets were this good! 4/3/2003

The Animal Hospital on Mount Lookout Square is by far the best vet in that area of town! I only wish my own doctors treated me with the kindness, gentleness, and love that my cat received from Dr. Ramos, Dr. Levitas, and their staff. We were always treated as if we were their only patients, including during a 9AM Sunday emergency visit. Pros: Good customer service, Kind, Compassionate Cons: Expensive more
