Made me sick! 6/6/2010

I recently visited this restaurant and I will never return. I ordered pad thai with chicken and the chicken tasted funny, so I should've known not to continue eating. I also got a Thai iced tea which was one of the worst that I have ever tasted, needless to say 3 hours later I was sick. Pros: Friendly staff Cons: Food more

Hidden Thai on Fitzhugh 12/20/2009

This place is great and all the more special as few know about it. The curry is delicious. The sticky rice and spicy beef salad, larb nu, makes me salivate just thinking about it. Thai to English spelling varies widely so spelling may be off. They don't serve liquor, but the Thai grocer next door sure does and BYOB is cool. I have never had anything here that I did not like. Give it a try and disregard the strip mall wherein it resides. The food is memorable. I can see a bowl of Tom Yum soup with flames coming out the middle of the donut shaped dish right now. Pros: Delicious, good prices, and no one knows about it Cons: Cash only more

East Dallas' best kept secret in Thai cuisine 2/12/2009

This is the type of neighborhood gem the tourists will never find, and too bad for them. Thai Noodle & Rice offers authentic Thai food at reasonable prices that'll keep you coming back. Dishes are flavorful yet rarely overspiced, and they'll adjust the heat to your liking - just tell your server. Likewise, you can opt for your choice of meat or go vegetarian. Lots of choices to please most everyone. \r \r The menu is consistent in quality, but you might especially appreciate Spicy Basil Leaves, Cashew Chicken, Crispy Pork with Chinese Broccoli, or the Lo Mein dishes. Black rice pudding is an unusual but delicious dessert. Take your own alcohol if you enjoy a drink with dinner, as they do not serve.\r \r Like most famous hole-in-the-wall restaurants, the surrounding area is somewhat colorful. But that just adds to the experience. If you live in East Dallas, this place is a must to check out. If not, it's definitely worth making a regular trip. Pros: Consistent quality, generous portions, friendly staff Cons: Cash only more

Convenient Thai 2/19/2008

Though occupying a run down section of Fitzhugh, this restaurant has a surprisingly optimistic feel. The decor is sparse and lacking, you get the feeling the owners did the best they could with the run down shopping center in which the restaurant is housed. But the inside is clean and the place has its share of loyal visitors. I usually call ahead and order take out, but when I eat there I most definitely take advantage of the BYOB policy. The dishes are authentic Thai, and the wait staff is friendly and conversational. The papaya salad is tart and crisp (when they have papaya in stock) and their whole crispy fried fish tastes like it came straight from the market in Thailand. If you are looking for ambiance, this is not your place. But good food at great prices is an authentic practice straight from Thailand! (And so is the cash only policy!) Pros: Great Food, cheap prices Cons: Cash only, sketchy neighborhood more
