Thai house - decent food - not too expensive, but look out for the margaritas! 4/1/2006

I like Thai house a lot - their prices aren't too bad and the place has great food and great atmosphere. There is even a section of the resteraunt where you can take off your shoes and sit on the floor on mats and eat off a low table, in the traditional style. The food is very tasty, though sometimes the portions are a bit small. Don't try their alcoholic drinks, especially the margaritas and the dacqueris. They are tasteless and resemble watered down rubbing alcohol. Good find though, all the same. more

Good food. Good price. 8/5/2005

This Thai restaurant sits on the top floor of a the busiest street in Santa Rosa. This isn't saying much as Santa rosa is not too busy. First of all the down side is that drop out college students or smoking teenagers with purple hair frequent many of the other shops on this street. The Thai Restaurant is worth it though. The service is very good. Polite and good. Not overly fast with the service, so don't expect the food fast. But the soups are good. I had a chicken noodle surprise dish and I enjoyed in immensely. Good food. more

Tasty Thai 6/29/2005

If you don’t' know where to look you'll miss it...on 4th Street, about half a block from the mall, is a small sign that hangs above the street for the Thai House. I must have walked past it hundreds of times without knowing it was there...but once you know, if you are craving some spicy, ricey, peanut-coated goodness, Thai House is definitely the place to go. The reason that the restaurant is hard to locate is that, unlike most 4th Street restaurants, it is a story above the ground, up a flight of narrow stairs, nestled next to an art gallery. When you eat there you feel like you have stepped away from the bustle of the street below...it feels like a secret restaurant, hidden away from the rest of the town. The lighting is soft and low and the food the delicious signature Thai blend of spicy, sweet, and gooey, with a liberal sprinkling of peanuts and fresh cucumber. There are dishes for a wide variety of dietary needs or likes...spicy, mild, rich, low calorie, vegetarian, meaty... They are open until 2 on weekend nights (perfect for a late bite after a movie), and have tables and chairs, as well as a room with cushions and low tables for sitting on the floor. Now that you know, it can be your secret restaurant too! more
