Great cheap Thai 9/7/2011

Thai Siam does just about everything right. Their menu has both standbys and many very interesting specials, they take requests for spicy seriously, and their service is extremely gracious and pleasant. Only minor complaint is that they sometimes underestimate the amount of time for takeout orders, but that's not a common occurrence and it's never been more than a ~5 minute wait in the restaurant for me. more

Great food! Great price! 4/6/2009

We had to stop down the street to grab a few things from another store. Felt the urge for some Thai. Stopped in. Great ambiance, great service and great food. Check them out! more

Best Thai food 10/29/2007

I've tried many Thai restaurants in Seattle and this is by far the most authentic. The food is always great and served by a staff that treats you like family. The desserts are unlike anything I've had, make sure you try the Young Coconut ice cream with flan that arrives looking like a piece of artwork. One warning, it's a bit hotter than most Thai restaurants, so you might want to take it down a star. Or just deal with the heat because this is what real Thai food is like. more

Thai Siam is Family Favorite! 11/30/2006

We love Thai Siam. The place is simply decorated, but the food is delicious! I do not know his name, but there is a nice gentleman who is always there when we drop by, he knows our names and can remember our favorite dishes! Everyone there is friendly. They even know us when we call for a pick up order! Do they know us by caller ID or by the sound of our voice? Do not know. They have a fundraising dinner once a year in August, and they donate to different charities - some local and some international. Once I had a pick up order, but could not leave the car. I had two sleeping children. I called the restaraunt and they walked my order out to my car. They did this with a geniune smile. I always leave a generous tip. We live in West SEattle now, but still drive to Ballard just to eat there. LOVE this place! more

Meat and Potatoes Thai 4/2/2006

Thai Siam is not a glamorous Thai restaurant. They do have nice decorative touches and a warm, friendly staff. But where many Thai food restaurants give you an exotic presentation with food that just doesn't sing to the palate, Thai Siam gives a simple presentation and food that just tastes good. Time after time, you can count on the folks at Thai Siam to deliver a simply great meal. I personally recommend the Thai iced coffee, the fresh rolls, the chicken massaman, and the cocunut ice cream. more

Thai Siam Reataurant 3/17/2006

At first look it isn't the most attractive eatery but the service is great and the food is excellent. If you love authentic Thai food, Thai Siam is the place. We have been going there for over a decade and always had a wonderful meal. Thia Siam is our whole family's favorite restaurant to go to when we are in Seattle. Prices are reasonable for all the fantastic food you get. And it is the only place I can get a great tasting Iced Coffee for $2.50. more

Like taking a culinary trip to Southeast Asia 8/19/2005

It is no secret that Seattle has many Thai restaurants. And I would have to say that there are many that are very good. I would have to say that Thai Siam would have to be at the top of the list. I spent a few months in Thailand a few years back and fell in love with the country. Thailand is known for many things - a few being the kindness of the people and the richness and complexity of their cuisine. Thai Siam captures both aspects in full. You walk into the restaurant and the staff are very kind, greet you sincerely, and offer you a table. Most (if not all) are from Thailand and even greet you w/ the national greeting of "saw wa dee kup". Once the meal starts get ready for an amazing workout for your taste buds. Be sure to order the Tom Kah Gai soup. It's a chicken broth and coconut milk soup that is slightly sweet, hot, and sour at the same time. Their rendition is my favorite of any Thai restaurant in Seattle. Also I know that they do charity work as well and have an annual dinner where all the earnings go to a local charity. I'm not sure which charity but the donation they give is in the tens of thousands. Definitely check out Thai Siam! more

Best Phad Thai, Excellent Peanut Sauce 8/16/2005

Thai Siam is only one of a handful of restaurants in Seattle’s Crown Hill neighborhood. An extensive menu of Thai favorites is available, and the friendly waitstaff are always happy to take special requests. My favorites include Phad Thai (the best in Seattle), Rama Garden (a peanut sauce and vegetable dish that can be augmented with meat or tofu), Heavenly Chicken (Thai barbeque), and the fantastic Satay. more
