Fun city, caring professors 3/21/2006

As someone who actually went to 3 different Universities, this one was my favorite by far. People are very laid back and non-judgmental. The professors are not pressured to research, so that they can focus on the students. The city of San Marcos is beautiful, a river runs through the campus. Although some think of it as a party school, really every school can be a party school, I did not see much of a difference in the Christian college and this public school I attended. more

Live a Little, Learn a Lot 8/2/2005

With the name change from Southwest Texas to Texas State, this university is leaving behind its party reputation. That is not to say that parties are not still plentiful, but students can get more out of this university than just a good time. Texas State is a rapidly growing school that now has over 20,000 students. Classes range in size from 20 people to over 400 people. There is an array of degree choices to select from. The faculty encourage students to seek their help and to get to know them beyond the classroom. Dorm life is so much fun here! Whether you're from Austin or Laredo, this is a university worth looking into. I had the time of my life during my 4 years here. more
