This is a good place to go to to grab drinks w/the girls for a fun night out. They sometimes have mexican bands playing and karaoke nights which are really fun. Wouldn't recomme...

WORST MEXICAN FOOD 3/19/2012

This is the worst mexican food I've ever had. I've been there a few times over the course of the years, and each time I am disappointed and remember why it is I don't eat here. The salsa is runny and lacks flavor. The food is overpriced. The fajitas come out with basically whole vegetables that they hardly cook. You can have better food at Cinco de Mayo down the street. The one star is for the margaritas, which are decent. more

Not Recommending 5/12/2010

1. Forced vallet parking despite of space were ample available and no need to give the car key to vallet service driver. He followed up to inside the store and forcing the key which he did not need at all. When i refused to give the key telling ""you do not need my car key as I am not blocking anyone's car"", he was cursing, antagonistic and chased up to inside the store and went back when store waiter told ""it is ok if he in not blocking other car"" 2. After spent about 3 hours in the restaurant, noticed the car was skewing on the way back home, and found in the Morning tire was COMPLETELY FLAT. 3. 4 peoples bill was about $120, excluding tax and added tip $14 for only 4 peoples which is more than $3.50 per person, paid total over $145, Waiter lied to other guest in Spanish ""I did not pay the tip"", so guest was delving bag for cash, so I confirmed ""i added the tip on the bill"", then he changed the word ""you have to pay tip at least $20"". Pros: Not Recommend Cons: Not Recommend more

Good for Drinks, Bad for Food 9/1/2009

This is a good place to go to to grab drinks w/the girls for a fun night out. They sometimes have mexican bands playing and karaoke nights which are really fun. Wouldn't recommend this place for a first date; its too loud. If your going there in hopes of having a good meal, go somewhere else. The food, well lets just say I could make better enchaliades and i don't cook. The food was bad, everything came out cold and it was so expensive!! This is a good place for drinks only. I called to get some reservations for to nite, already I was here a few years ago (3) but the reviews that I read are real bad so I called and I ask if they have improved the service but the answered I received from the person that answer was very rude and not a propitiate, so if you go, be aware of this. Mediocre food, expensive prices. 4/7/2009

14.50 for guacamole that contained one avocado. Entries were expensive, served lukewarm and the rice was dry and not fresh at all. Expensive for what it is and what it is is NOT worth the price. The waiter was indifferent although the bus boys and the guy who made the guacamole were very nice. I will never go there again. Worst Mexican Food Ever! 6/29/2008

The only good part of the experience were the free chips and salsa, those were very good. Because the entrees were so expensive $18-30 we skipped an appetizer. I ordered the vegetarian plate and my husband ordered a beef burrito. We were both quite unimpressed with the bland food we received. My meal tated like it was microwaved and the guacamole that came with it tasted like it was from out of a tub from a supermarket. It was darker green in color, was not at all fresh and had practically no flavor. My husband's beef burrito also tasted bland and microwaved. It was not crispy - just limp and lifeless. We left dissapointed and will stick to our favorite Mexican restaurant - Cinco de Mayo. from now on!!! That place has amazing guacamole and the prices are much lower but with fresher and authentic Mexican food. Don't wate your money at Tequila Sunrise. Yuck! Too Expensive - not real Meixcan Food 4/3/2008

We went there on Saturday night, arriving 10 minutes before our reservation. We were told it would be a few minutes and to please wait at the bar (no problem, time for a MARGARITA)!! Well, a few minutes turned into a 45 minute wait without so much as an ""I'm sorry"" from the hostess. We were finally seated, spent a small fortune at the bar, $100 for 4 people. Dinner was okay, although not truly mexican, the plates were too small, and every little item was an extra down to the sour cream. Not the best experience, after being sat late we were then rushed out so they could accomodate a large party. All in all, we wouldn't go here again. Unsure that it's all that ! 11/17/2007

I tried this place based on a recommendation from a co-worker. I showed up during off-peak hours (4:00pm on Saturday). Restaurant was slow, but parking lot full (small lot). Pros: Decorations; Cleanliness Cons: Price of Food; No Drink Prices; Parking limited; Slow service more

I was in the mood for Mexican food really bad and my husband and I were driving by so we decided to go there...this place is soooooooo NOISY...and the food is soooooo not REAL MEXICAN FOOD...we ordered Quesadillas as appetiizers and got these empanadas with cheese in them...thats not authentic MEXICAN...this place seems like is own by Americans and has Mexican waiters to mask the fact that its not authentic....dont get me wrong...the food is not bad...but its not the place to go if you want some real authentic Mexican food...if your in Queens...drive down Roosevelt Ave towards Shea stadium and there will be plenty of real Mexican restaurants to choose from....this place is better suited for college students that want to get drunk...and dance to extremely loud mexican music all night.... Amazing Mexican food 11/15/2006

I live very far from this Tequila Sunrise. I say ""this"", because the other one in Astoria (much closer to my home) I avoid like the plague, but there is a world of difference with this little heaven. Unlike the Astoria one, the mood and decor of this restaurant is very romantic, and for whatever reason, the food is way superior to any other Mexican I have tried anywhere else. SWINGING SINGLES/SANGRIA/MARGHARITA HEAVEN/ 8/23/2006

This is really two places--an excellent singles bar scene serving hallucinagenic margharitas, and a fine Mexican restaurant complete with strolling Mariachi band. At the bar---get there early because it fills up fast with the over 30 singles of Bayside (the divorce capital of the western world). Great drinks, excellent chips and salsa. The restaurant is a ecnter of above average Mexican food, mixed with some Spanish offerings. Excellent Paella, fine Mexican standards. The guacamole is freshly made tableside and can be as mild or hot as you please. The sangria and mixed drinks are outstanding. The service is friendly, if a wee bit slow, so don't expect to be in and out in an hour. A trifle pricey for Mexican, but actually worth the ticket. I recommend making reservations so you don't have to wait so long. When I stepped in no one was standing there to greet us until a few minutes later a guy in a suit stepped up. I loved the atmosphere and the decorations were great. The only part I didn't like was the service. It took them more than an hr to get the food to us. I had to hail them down in order to get drinks but otherwise its a great place for a bday celebration! Pros: great food, great atmosphere Cons: slow service more

Good Food - Guacamole made tableside, Great Chicken on a skewer, great sangria, excellent margaritas. If you go in a group, get the margaritas by the pitcher ... I like to mix the regular with a flavor - it cuts the sweetness of the flavored margarita. One dollar per person is added to the check when the mariachi band plays. The band really adds to the atmosphere. Reservatios help for big groups or on the weekend. Pros: good food, great drinks, fun more
