Love it 3/7/2009

My uncle took me here on my free day. I usually don't enjoy museums, but he thought that I'd like it since I am a geek. This place had lots of interesting old technologies and also history of how technology and innovation got to where they are now. Very enlightening. If you have kids, I recommend taking them there to give them some understanding of life before all these technologies. They will develop an appreciation for the technology and the things we have now. more

Fun for older kids 7/26/2006

We went here when my oldest was 4 and our now 3 year old was 1 and it was definitely for 3 year olds and up, but fun. They had an exhibit where they could make and fly paper planes, you could take an all around photo of your head (I can't remember what happened to it then) and lots of other fun things. It is an interesting museum to try with 3 and up. more

Kids loved it 3/23/2006

This is a kids wonder. They really liked the computers and the roller coaster simulation. The DNA things was terrific too where you actually extract DNA. Also they have RFID cards, so you can record what you are doing. The other part that they loved were the various experiments. Actually the Shanghai Science Museum is probably better (but a little farther away :-) more

A Field Trip 10/21/2005

This is museum is not an ordinary museum. Being in the heart of Silicon Valley where all the technology is developed, there are many different and new inventions on display here. If you love electronics and want to see the future of them, this is a great place to go especially if you have kids and want to see their future develop. more

Just for kids 9/27/2005

If you are an adult and you think this place might be something that has geeky gadgets and cutting edge innovations, you are wrong. The Tech Museum is essentially a musuem that can wow kids but definitely not adults. So if you are planning on going here, do so only if you have kids. Worth catching a show at however is the dome Imax here. However, there are only a few seats in the house that will not strain you neck, so arrive early more

Tech museum....for kids??! 8/23/2005

I actually went here with a class. I remember we had a lot of fun here. This is really a great play for kids. Lots of the exhibits are hands on, which is incredible since you can really learn when you experience things yourself. Everyone loves the exhibit with the roller coaster simulator, check that one out. Its really cool. Parking might be a problem if you are comeing with your family, but not too much of a problem, you just have to pay some money. Great experience, especially for the kids. more

Tech for kids 8/23/2005

The Tech Museum is an interactive museum designed mainly for kids. Some of the games and exhibits there are pretty awesome. They also have an IMAX theater in the museum where you can see movies (for a surcharge). Kids love this museum. The museum is located in a pretty busy place. One will notice lots of school buses here on a school day. more

The history of tech 8/21/2005

I went to the Tech Museum back when it was still called the Garage. It offers a great variety of exhibits which meticulously record the history of the tech industry in the Silicon Valley. There are many hands-on exhibits and the museum is constantly adding to its collection to accommodate the ever-changing tech industry. more

Tech Museum 8/17/2005

The Tech museum is a must see for all family members. Every age group should be able to find something there to play with and be interested by. The roller coaster design/simulator to the robots to the human body model, there's lots to see. Don't forget the IMAX showings which periodically show first run movies in the IMAX format. more

fun for everyone 8/17/2005

This is a great place to take a family where everyone is a different age. There is a great children's play area in the basement that kids 8 and under will love, while the upper floors are filled with games and toys and exhibits that are of interest to teens and adults. From learning how to build a robot or how microchips are made this is truly the right museum for the capital of SIlicon Valley. Introduce your kids to tech early and watch them enjoy it and maybe even make it their career. This museum is definitely worth a visit for EVERYONE. more

Great place to take the family 8/16/2005

The San Jose Tech Museum is located in downtown San Jose right off Highway 87 on Market St. There is no free parking, so expect to pay anywhere from five dollars to $20 depending on where you park. There are numerous rotating tech exhibits at the Tech Museum. One of the newest exhibits that has just opened is called "Net Planet" and focuses on the Internet, past present and future. There are interactive displays on how the internet works, including an internet arm wrestling exhibit and one on how "avantars" (online identities and characters) are developed. The museum has many other exhibits too, including one that describes how microchips are fabbed, one that talks about cells and biotechnology, and one that features the gadget of the week (they had segway scooter demos when I went). more

Museum 8/12/2005

The tech museum is a place for both kids and adults to explore and have hands on fun! Their price for admission is average and you will surely get your money's worth. They teach kids about science and innovation. Kids can go here to make friends and learn new things. There are a lot of helpers there to show the kids around. more

2500 sq foot exhibit 7/26/2005

As the name signifies the main focus of this place is to highlight innovators who tried to think outside the box to invent and innovate. currently featuring inventors and innovators who have used playful and creative techniques in their work. This is a huge 2500 sq feet exhibit with much more to show than the name reflects... more

fascinating for kids! 6/24/2005

I brought my little cousins here and they had the time of their lives! No matter boy or girl, this museum has something for everyone. The word "museum" doesn't even seem to describe it welll, for it is more like a huge multi-level playground for kids. Everything is hands and and kids can play with all sorts of gadgets and devices from the old to the latest scientific innovations. The "Idea House" is genius, it allows kids to use their creativity to the max, encouraging them to build upon their ideas. more
