Best

Taylors is good place to eat. It's romantic, and has very delicious dry aged steak. It also has great...

Worst

I went to Taylor's last night with three friends; we have all eaten there regularly over the past eight years, including birthday celebrations, bachelor parties, and casual dinner...

Really is the Best in LA 1/8/2003

I've eaten here quite a few times, and I haven't been disappointed yet. You must have a martini to start. Their steaks are superb and the service is always friendly. It's at least half the price of Pacific Dining Car and the quality is, at least, equivalent. Overall, I would highly recommend Taylor's to anyone. Pros: Inexpensive, Food Quality, Service Cons: Location more

Good, but not Great. 1/7/2003

Upon reading the editorial review on Taylor's, I was fully enticed to check it out. It's definitely a good place, but I don't think it ranks with the upper echelon of steakhouses. I tried the cullotte cut and sampled the filet. Both were tasty and a decent price. However the location and atmosphere were sorely lacking. I felt like I was eating in the Denny's bar. Good for a one time experience, but I doubt I'd go back. Very poor wine selection as well. Cons: Bad Location, Fair Atmosphere more

Prime indeed 12/13/2002

As you stated, excellent steaks and prime rib. I had never liked lobster until I tried their Australian Rock lobster tails...sumptuous! Excellent service. Pros: convenient, friendly servers Cons: a little expensive, neighborhood more

Good Restaurant, Horrible Location 10/21/2002

Good 50's style steakhouse in rundown part of Los Angeles. Always acceptably good - never great. It is puzzling how Editor's rate it in the top 10 nationally, but not in their top foue in L.A. Readers are right to not include it in their top ten either. Still good food and a good value - just nothing special. Pros: Good Value, Good Food Cons: Dangerous area more

Old Hollywood serves up 40's style steak 9/15/2002

In the heart of Korea town, Taylor's Steaks stands out as the meat and potatoes of old Hollywood. There's nothing better than the red tufted naugahide booths and dark wood paneling to bring back the old Chasen's days. The steaks are superb and the staff is great. It's certainly an great steak place to go to over and over. Pros: Food, History & Ambience, Staff Cons: Location more

yummy yummy meat 9/4/2002

I bring my family here every time they fly in from the mid-west (they are cattle ranchers and know good beef). They love it and so do I. more

mmm 8/13/2002

STEAK! 8/12/2002

What more needs be said best steak at the best price good service nice old fashioned steak house atmosphere and the best drinks in town - prefer the other location in La Canada though! Pros: steak, price, drinks more

Drooling Good 8/8/2002

I have been eating at Taylor's for over 14 years. I'd eat there every night if my budget could stand the strain. This is a Steak House that believes in simply the best meat available at a reasonable price. Not perfect, but at least 4 and 3/4 stars out of five. Pros: quiet place for frien, quick service, Best Steaks Cons: Long wait, need Reserv, spotty check ups, more than you can eat more

OLD STYLE AMBIENCE!!! 7/25/2002

The steak is fantastic, the drinks are divine and the atmosphere is old Hollywood at its best! Dark woods and low light - classic. The service is great too. I recommend steak and sidecars for you and all your friends! more

Thee Steakhouse 7/10/2002

This place has a good dark atmosphere and the right kind of tables/chairs for a steak house. Its going to be tough finding a restaurant that serves a better prime rib or london broil. Seating downstairs is somewhat crowded but upstairs is a little more spacious. If youre on your way to the upstairs dining area and just cant be without that Tom Collins there is a bar half way up the stairs. Some street parking or use the valet. Pros: great steaks Cons: not much else more

Go to Taylors for a Prime steak 7/10/2002

Dark and cool place to eat. Great french dip with a cold beer. more

Good old Fashioned Steakhouse 6/28/2002

If you live in LA make this a stop! What this is, isn't a cookie-cutter chain steak house. I would defintely make reservations though. Taylor serves up good ole Steak's(san the frilly extras).Meat and potatoes here, i tried the London Broil, do you stomach a favor try it! On my visit my associate, had the Prime Rib, his coment Sinfully good. The service is a bit slow, but the meal, that's what your here for! Pros: Great Steaks, Grade AAA Prime Rib Cons: crowded, slow service more

great old world steak house 6/22/2002

This place is old world kitch! Very cool. Great prime rib and a really cold martinis. more

A Classic Steakhouse!!! 6/20/2002

Great for the money!!!! USDA Prime & Choice Beef, best prices in town!!!! Good wine values! Pros: Quality Steals, Good service, Old World Cons: Location more

Meat Gooood! 6/13/2002

If you're looking for that clog your arteries, good, old fashioned, red meat fix, you've come to the right place. Menu's full of old time favorites for the meat and potatoes croud. The prime rib lunch sandwich was lean, sliced thin and cooked to an excellent medium rare. Although the service was a bit slow (she said the cooks got slammed) the ambiance and the comfortable red leather chairs were teriffic. more

Great Filet Mignon 6/12/2002

The filet mignon was tender and tasty. The mashed potatoes Ihad were creamy, fluffy, made from real potatos and had a buttery flavor. The service overall was go od and the food, well I am sure you get the . more

Good prime rib 6/12/2002

This place feels like a throwback to the old steak houses. Dark, red puffy high-back chairs, and a simple, steak menu. No low-cal fish or chicken stuff here. I had the Prime Rib ($15) done medium and it was done quite well. It came with a salad (okay) and some mashed potatoes (also okay). Come here for the beef, and the dark atmosphere. more

they have very good food, and they also have good service more

mmm, that's some good meat! 6/11/2002

Took a group of coworkers to celebrate completion of a project. We were a little underdressed, but nobody seemed to mind. Big, comfy chairs, good bread and butter while you wait and a nice lunch menu with good variety. Among the things we tried and would recommend: The thick steak sandwich (really just a thick sirloin served on a piece of garlic bread with a couple of onion rings and some mashed taters)--really good and perfectly cooked to my order. The cream of mushroom soup that came with it was incredibly rich and delicious. The cheeseburger looked good, too. One of my colleagues spoke highly of his prime rib sandwich served au jus. All in all a great meal and very affordable at $150 incl. tip for 8 people (no alcohol). Our only gripe was that the meal took a while, but the server was very apologetic. Pros: quality meat, ambience more
