Cool Cabs 6/26/2011

"Dude, what's this?" "Dude, what's that mean?" "Dude, why's it doing that?" "Dude, what are you doing there?" "SHUUUUT UUUUUP!!!!!" -- Is the way I would have expected any normal taxi driver to act after the barrage of questions I gave him during my first experience in a hybrid vehicle. But he didn't. He was totally cool and he explained the entire system (there's a screen that shows the energy being used and stored to the battery) and was very patient while my drunk brain cells tried to piece together the concepts. It was a VERY clean car, he was right on time and we really enjoyed it. So much so that I called back when we got home and told them that it was a great taxi experience. Who's ever heard of such a thing? more

Sweet Drivers! 6/25/2011

Banned from driving because of a recent surgery, I depended on Taxi Taxi for everything: getting me to the doctor, CVS, a lunch date, and grocery shopping. I love it that they are clean, fast, and the drivers are all friendly but not overly talky. The thing that really did it for me was when, on the way home from a checkup, I realized I needed to pick up a few things. The driver pulled over at VONS and, after asking what I needed, hopped out and ran into the store to get it for me (he was quite spry for such an old guy). Even nicer than that, when we got to my house I saw he'd written the price that was on the meter when we arrived at VONS and the price when we left and he subtracted his shopping time from the total saying he didn't want to charge me for leaving the meter running while he was in the store (doing my grocery shopping!). And then, wait for it, there's more..... He carried my groceries up to the door and made sure that someone was there to carry them inside and put them away before he left. Awwww, what a sweetie! more

Call them! They are awesome and have hybrids. The drivers are professionals and nice. The driver heard me struggling to order a pizza and suggested a place he knew that was open late (it was 3am at the time) and even looked up the number in his cell phone for me. more

Great Taxi Service 6/20/2011

The best transportation in the city. I can text 10 minutes before I need a cab, and it'll come in 5. It's unbelievable. I think I use this service more than I should. It's really hard to go back using normal cabs once you try Taxi Taxi. Their cars are very comfortable clean and new. Their drivers are also professionally dressed and really friendly. Using Taxi Taxi also frees you from bringing cash as everything is charged to your credit card. This service is worth every penny you pay for it! Try it during the weekend when you lost hope in catching a cab! more

Okay, this is my first review, so I'm not sure if I'm using my "rating' power correctly just yet. I recently started a new job that requires me to travel, and they told me to call the taxi service and book a car for my AM trip to LAX airport...so I thought to myself, “I wonder if I can use the Taxi Taxi service that I keep seeing on the streets all the time...” and yep, I made the call. So once I called, I was pleasantly surprised at how inexpensive it was. I scheduled the car for an early morning pick-up, the car came, got me to the airport on time, and the driver even knew which direction to point me in for airport check-in. It was a good trip. No complaints. My first review has started out at 5 stars...I'm a first-timer, don't judge me! Lol more

First class service 6/15/2011

This is the only car service I will use. Their cars are always clean, in great condition on the inside AND outside, and the drivers are polite and friendly. I usually end up conversing with them for a while, and they usually end up knocking a couple of bucks off the fare for a good chat. The phone people are sweet, they always show up at my door in a few minutes, and the drivers drive safely-NOT like some madmen I've had from other companies who zoom, swerve, and curse out other drivers loudly. Taxi Taxi doesn't stress me or themselves out like that. They have SUVs and will do airport trips for the most reasonable rate around. I recommended their service to my mom, because I knew they'd take care of her and offer her a pleasant experience. I highly recommend this first class taxi service! more

Since I don't live in Santa Monica, and since none of my friends there seem to take taxis, I had to rely on CitySearch reviews to order a car service to get me to LAX in time for my flight last weekend. Glad I took a chance on Taxi Taxi: the dispatcher was friendly and efficient (even quoting me an estimated price based on my pickup location, something the other two companies I called first basically laughed at me for asking about); the cab arrived within the stated arrival time; and my driver couldn't have been more friendly or professional. Probably won't be using them regularly but will be keeping their number in my phone anyway. more

Completely perfect 6/12/2011

Completely perfect. Called and made a reservation on the phone. Answered right away & used caller ID "is this your cell phone? Ok." Super easy. Picked me up on time - got a call 1 minute before my pickup time from the dispatcher but I think the car was waiting down the block early :) On the way to LAX (from Miramar Hotel) I momentarily thought the driver forgot which airport I was going to... until I turned on traffic on my phone. He was going around the traffic! We made record time (20 mins door to curb). Comfy hybrid car. I'm so using them next time! more

Impeccable service 6/8/2011

I like this particular taxi for many reasons. First of all I like the cars - always clean and comfortable. I personally prefer to request hybrid Toyota but they offer vans if you need a bigger car as well. Second, the driver in 99% is coming on time. If sometimes it happens that the car is 5 min late they call to warn you and apologize for a delay. Cool! With the other companies I had to call myself and ask where my taxi was. Third, I have never had a problem with their dispatchers. Besides, when you call once, they save your name and address, so the next time you call they already know you. This way you don't need to spell your address every time and order takes just a few seconds. I call Taxi Taxi often and didn't regret it even once. more

Hybrid cars 6/6/2011

This cab company cares about nature as much as I do. They use many hybrids in their fleet what helps to reduce pollution and noise level in the streets. Good job Taxi Taxi! more

Gift card 6/6/2011

One of the best gifts I got for the last Christmas was a gift card from Taxi!Taxi! I was able to give it to my 14-year old daughter and not get worried about giving her cash or my AMEX. When I ran out of credit I gave them a call and they recharged my account. Excellent service more

Very helpful! 5/25/2011

My mother is very old and can easily get lost. Thanks to Taxi!Taxi! I can let her go to the doctor by herself. The driver helps her to get in and out of the cab, waits for her in front of the clinic, and takes her home (they know her pick location and destination in the database). They give me special vouchers so that I can pay the total bill in the end of the month. We appreciate your service so much. Thank you more

Best Taxi 5/23/2011

I was able to use my credit card for a short ride and driver didn't complain. I felt very secure because they have a credit card terminal the back seat and the driver didn't need to see my credit card. more
