Since I've moved here from L.A., I have been searching for a salon that will highlight my hair using the Balayage style...It has been a frustrating search until now! A friend mentioned her stylist at TART named Tracy. I have to tell you, I was a little worried when I first pulled up, because you don't see a salon. I walked into the building and down a hallway but once I walked in the salon it was GREAT, the music was fantastic, nothing mainstream, the decor is very European, airy and bright. Tracy was great! Very personable and friendly which helped me relax. Turns out she Balayaged many of her clients when she worked in L.A. but says it's not in demand here yet...Well I demand it and my hair looks beautiful!!! Thank you Tracy! What a great, upbeat and positive salon!! It is decorated so cute and not a big crowded place like most salons. I saw Jill when I was there and she is just the BEST!! She can do anything and makes sure it is just what you want. She takes the time to make sure she is doing just what is right for you and what you need. No pressure on sales or services and Jill is just a nice person!! I would recommend her to anyone and I will go back again and again!!!! more

I have been going to Jami for about four years now and she is nothing short than amazing. Not only is she great at cuts and styles, she is fantastic at color too. It is great to have a one-stop-shop hair dresser extraordinaire. Every hair style she gives me, I always get compliments ? from red, to blonde highlights to natural ? Jami simply makes you look wonderful.\r \r And the other hair dresser in the salon are so nice and clearly do great work. I have been a devout follower of the cult of Jami for almost three years now, and I am constantly providing recommendations, as I am constantly receiving compliments! Jami is unbelieveably talented. From the simplest request to the most complex trend in both cut and color, she is able to not only meet but exceed my expectations every time. In addition, she is an excellent instructor on products and techniques to ensure that you are able to achieve your style at home. Everyone that I have recommended to Jami has been converted after just one visit - she really is that amazing. if you want to have a model or star look, YOU NEED TO GO SEE TRACY. she used to work in Brentwood, in Hollywood, California and do hair for the stars. she is AMAZING. the best thing about tracy is she is the sweetest person on the earth! This was a fabulous experience...I had no idea there was a salon located in this location...I walked down these stairs through quiet hallways when I hear bass rythums. Bass then turns into clear funky music as I walk through the doors of ""Tart"". Fun atmosphere with local artwork and friendly staff. Today, Jami made me look fabulous and we even played with the makeup. I never wear makeup but you know, you get your hair done and you just like playing with the look and we had fun with it. I had told Jamie that I like the el natural look and she found shades and cosmetics that worked real well for me (and I thank her). All the girls are so nice and I felt very ""at home"" with my glass of wine. I know Im just a customer but thank you Jami and Tart for the good times and I'll see you soon! more

I got my hair cut and colored today by Jami then went to work. Every single person I have seen has complimented me on how great my hair looks. I came a little early and she was happy to get me started before my appointment time. Jami was fun and relaxed to spend my time with, even giving me very low key styling tips. When I went to check out, I was pleasantly surprised by the price. Overall, a wonderful experience. In the few weeks since I have been there, I still receive compliments and my hair is very easy to style. It is growing out great. I will be back. I've seen Jill Harris 4 times for a cut and color and she's one of the best stylists around. After letting my hair ""go"" for a year and a half while I was pregnant and a new mom it was time for some help. A lot of help. She was exactly what I needed. She cut my extra long straggly hair into something that was hip and styly. It perfectly suited my face and she put some funky chunks of bright red into it which helped me feel a little less mom-ish. Also the all over dark chestnut color she chose for me was perfect! She takes time to discuss what you really want and need and always brings you tea or coffee as well. She's a doll! Thanks Jill! Jami, the owner of Tart, and my favorite hairstylist, is both professional and personable. The top five reasons I continue to go to her are:\r \r 5. Products she carries: All of her recommendations (like for dandruff shampoo or texturizers) have done exactly what she said they would.\r 4. Scalp Massage: Jami gives a mean scalp massage. Melt.\r 3. Price and timing: it's reasonable, and she can always get me in quickly.\r 2. Haircut and hair advice: Jami makes everyone look cute, even when (like me) they say ""um... After many years of struggling to find a stylist that listened to what I wanted in a hair style, I finally found Jami. She was recommended to me by a dear friend. I am so thrilled with Jami's talent because she listens to what have to say and then once I've told her my ideas, I can hand it over to her and trust her creativity and expertise to make a hairstyle out of my vague, unprofessional descriptions. If I tell her I want a similar style, but a little more edgy - she gives me the perfect haircut. Tracy Rios is the best hairdresser ever!!!!! She is so sweet, funny and not to mention incredibly talented. She is the kind of person that if you came to her with no idea what you wanted to do with your hair, she would work her magic and make you look amazing. Tracy also does my mother and my son's hair. The whole family just adores her. Tart is a very hip and stylish salon, but it also is very down to earth and warm. If you are looking for a new stylist, I highly recommend Jill Harris at Tart Studio. She has all sorts of advanced skills, and a great sense of style. I can be indecisive, but I have tried a couple very different looks out. When I want to give a new look a try, she is very helpful with guidance about what might work best for me and my features. She is relaxed and fun, and doesn't constantly push all the products. She will tell me what she is using on my hair, and if I have a particular need she is very knowledgeable about recommending something that will work for me. She has awesome ability to color correct mistakes made by other salon's stylists! (I came in from another top Seattle salon with orangey & blue tinged hair that was supposed to be blond. The other salon's stylist had tried to fix her mistake twice. I was having a party that night, and she sympathized, fit me in last minute, and sent me off looking awesome. She completely saved my day!) Her cuts & color are gorgeous! I am incredibly happy with the services I've received at Tart the two appointments I've had. Both times I had the stylist Heather Horton do my hair, she was great at really doing what I wanted, but also using her professional opinion/expertise to make sure my hair looked good. The other thing I really liked is she didn't try and sell me products I don't need, or create a style that is unmanagenable for an amatuer like myself. I am very very happy with the service I received. Pros: Ambience, Hours, Service Cons: A little spendy but worth it more
