For a small town, you just can't beat Tarpackers. In fact, many folks from Fayetteville and Lumberton (much larger towns to the N and S respectively, come to Tar Packers for dinner). I love reubens--so let me tell you that the Reuben is the best I have EVER had--and if you order it with onion rings, you won't be sorry--they will give you a KILLER sauce with it. The person who said it was expensive must only eat at Fast food places--the Reuben with onion rings is $7.99! I find the cost to be OUTSTANDINGLY reasonable! The service is friendly and they may not be the fastest--the food is made to order and delish! Ask for the owner to get just about anything you want--he prides himself on SERVICE and personal attention! It is a UNC/NC State place--but the food is good no matter what your team. We have lunch there at least once a week--you can get a nice little salad for like $4 or a baked potato for the same--you can't beat Tarpackers for a nice dinner. The dining room IS small, but they do accommodate kids as best they can--they don't provide toys and the like--but there is a McDonald's down the road if your kids need to climb while they stuff down fried food!
