Tanglewood Ordinary Restaurant

If you are taking the family out to dinner or just wanting a quiet evening for two, Tanglewood Ordinary is the place! Last Sunday night my fiancé and I went for a drive and we ended up at this fascinating family style restaurant where the food is all you can eat. The fried chicken just fell off the bone and their stew tomatos are so good. Please remember to bring cash or check or you could be washes dishes. :) more

My family and I were never so dissapointed! Five of us went to celebrate my birthday. The mashed potatos(hardly homemade) were cold and hard, the turnip greens were so cold I though they had just came out of the freezer, the green beans were straight out of the can, the only pieces of fried chicken we received were legs and backs, YUCK! The tasteof the BBQ was ok but again cold! There was no excuse for serving food in this manner. I attempted to ask our waitress to heat our food but she was in too big of a hurry and no personality. I paid 117.00 for dinner and we had to go to McDonalds on the way home. We would have eaten more but there was no taste and I hate cold food! I wouldn't recommend going to this restaurant! I was looking for friendlypeople, home type atmosphere not big city dining and good food, WE GOT NONE OF THAT!! more

Tanglewood Ordinary is a one of a kind restaurant. First of all, it is COUNTRY both in atmosphere and spirit. The food is like Grandma used to make and it comes on platters and in huge bowls for everyone at your table. You pay be the person, but the food comes by the table load. A "boarding house reach" is a plus. The fried chicken is luscious and the roast beef is tender and juicy. There are always several vegetables available and refills are free! This is one of the few restaurants I'd ever take my relatives to because they want all food to taste like "back home". Well, it did and they were in love with the place. The only time my relatives didn't find something to complain about! Definately worth the drive and you'll never leave hungry! more
