just pasing by 11/21/2010

I went to eat there 1 first week of November, and it took a few minutes for me to get help, the person that was there was on his laptop and didn't want to attend me, he made it look like if I was taking his time..Then I went a few days after and he was still doing the same thing. I didn't get his name but he wears glasses and about mid 20's.. I also didn't like the service there. more

This food is horrible! 6/28/2008

I've gone to this restaurant twice in the past 2 months, mostly due to the fact that the location was convenient. I was sorely disappointed both times! The quality of their ingredients are on the extreme LOW end. The rice, especially, is by far the most depressing. My second visit I bought a burrito and the corn/bean side they threw in the burrito was expired, pure sickening taste in my mouth! It was disgusting. I think management was trying to cut back on variable costs and decided to keep the food around a little too long. Long story short....avoid this dump of a place. more

friendly staff 5/28/2008

i agree that taco del mar is not the most authentic, tastiest mexican food around, but it's great for a quick meal. i am not calling their food bad by any means, but there are definitely more authentic places to go (maybe not in seattle). i go there every once in a while for lunch while I am working downtown and have never had a bad experience. they are so friendly and polite, which can be slightly hard to come across during the busy lunch hour in downtown seattle. i am eating my baja bowl right now and i am very happy. thanks taco del mar! Pros: friendly service, quick meal Cons: not authentic more

Unsanitary, Poor Food 1/30/2008

This restaurant is unsanitary and has low quality food. I felt sick after eating here. I was SHOCKED to see it listed on Best of Citysearch. I'm not sure what the appeal is. Pros: Cheap, Convenient Cons: Unsanitary, Poor Food more

Great Psuedo Baja Mexican Food 10/23/2005

I have lots of experience with Taco Del Mar AND ""Real Mexican Food."" (I lived 5 years in San Diego) I first would like to note that Taco Del Mar attempts to produce Baja style mexican food which is a bit different from traditional mexican food. Nonetheless, while Taco Del Mars version is not perfect, it is a great lunch place, tastes better than most fast food type places and I go there all the time. Your not going to get any great mexican food (for the most part) in Seattle so Taco Del Mar is a great alternative. more

NO BUENO! 8/15/2003

Won't be going there again. I asked the burrito guy what kind of fish is used in the fish tacos. He made a face, lifted the cover off the bin, picked up a fish chunk while flopping it around saying, ""some frozen whitefish"". Maybe he was trying to be funny. I decided to pass on all burritos. My friend had a meat burrito and said it was alright. Cons: unprofessional staff more

As real as I need for $1.99 2/21/2003

What do you expect for $1.99??? This place is perfect for a fast lunch. Order a side of rice - ditch the beans - with a dollop of salsa, add a fish taco (yes, I know it's a fish stick!)and you have a nice little lunch. Do NOT go here if you want great Mexican food. In fact, don't go anyplace in Seattle. There isn't any good Mex here unless you are at my table! Pros: speedy service, prices, nice folks Cons: fish sticks, runny beans, stale cookies more

Hungry for a fish burrito... 2/7/2003

go to your local supermarket get a box of frozen Van Da Kamp's Fish Fillets, grap a cheap bag of a dozen flour tortillas from the store's shelf (myself prefer the inexpensive Riquisimas brand flour tortillas). At home toss in that jar of saurkraut from your fridge. You know, the one from the last Okterberfest party you hosted...years back. The older the jar the crispier the cabbage. Add any white sauce you can get your hands on. Put the fish and cabbage into the tortilla, add the sauce, fold tortilla in half, put on plate. Add scoops of beans and rice to the plate. Enjoy! You just made a Taco Del Mar Fish Burrito. Wasn't that MmmmMMmmm good! Pros: quick Cons: you call this FISH!, where's the POLLO, PORK in mole more

Taco Del DEATH 12/13/2002

After trying to eat this ""food"" I expected to see Dr. Kevorkian to come along and end my suffering but no such luck. The Burritos are ok if you like rice since that is the primary filling in them, very little meat. I refused to try the fish taco that a friend had offered after tossing my uneaten meal in the trash. Cons: Terrible food more

Burritos grande 12/5/2002

Taco Del Mar rocks! But their spinach tortillas have dairy in them...what the *&#$%( is that about??? Pros: huge, yummy goods, old Thomas Kemper Cons: skimpy on the guac, $.75 for xtra guac more

More proof of locals' terrible taste 11/18/2002

I just moved here from Chicago, and I'm wondering what you people normally eat. This is most terrible quasi-Mexican food North of the Border. Hardly a notch above Taco Bell, and somewhere on par in quality with McDonald's. If your goal is to eat as much highly-caloric junk food as quickly as possible, go ahead and stop on it. Otherwise, save your money for a glass of wine. more

Best burritos! 10/28/2002

I LOVE TDM burritos! You can get them any way you like them, I especially like the pork. Fish tacos and burritos are also good. Pretty big burrito! Pros: Inexpensive, delicious Cons: Can be crowded more

Throw back the fish tacos 10/14/2002

The store in Silverdale, WA is some of the worst Mexican food I've had. It was $2 for one taco and basically was a fish stick in a tortilla. The guys behind the counter were all standing around a steam table of dried up meats...which is why I thought of trying the fish. I would never try it again. Awful stuff and bad value. Pros: good parking, no waiting Cons: bad value, bad food more

Best Fast Food Ever 10/3/2002

I love this place, excellent food, nice people always working! Good value, especiallty taco tuesday! more

Better than most chain taco stands 9/18/2002

I have eaten at Taco Del Mar several times and have been disappointed each time. The food is bland and somewhat tasteless. The claim to be Mission style (after the Mission district in San Francisco) is laughable. Those who only burrito experience is Taco Bell will love this place. There are some really good places to get a burrito in the Seattle area but I cannot recommend Taco Del Mar. More authentic and flavorful burritos can be had at Burrito Loco, Taqueria Guaymas, Taqueria Gallo, or La Cassita. Pros: Clean, Fast Cons: Not Authentic, Bland more

Too Much food! 9/3/2002

I love these guys, and get plenty to eat every time I am there. Great prices too. more

Portions are large, tasty, and sharable...great value. Too bad they don't have Corona to go with the food. more

Mexacali soul food 8/10/2002

these guys remind me of a good time growing up when mom , grandmom, or nanny cooked something that taste so good it stayed around inside a while and made you feel good all over comfort food allways is and will be. I love there super fish with refried beans and the works. its got avariety of folks love it or hate it there is one in puyallup as well . Pros: filler, flavor, cult classic Cons: cost, combinations, do delivery more

Taco Del Barf 8/9/2002

There were no cockroaches in our food, but that is about the only positive thing I can say about this place. Taco Del Mar deserves to be rated the worst.... their guac tasted like a curry. It appeared to be a coincidence that it was green! I ordered the Super Nachos. If by ""Super"" they mean one step above movie theatre nachos then they are on the mark. I was under the impression that nachos were supposed to be served with cheese... Oh wait it is there, just so little of it that it contributes nothing to the flavor. The Super Vegetarian Burrito had a peculiar taste, not even closely resembling how Mexican food should taste. Lukewarm slop, wrapped in a tortilla... The special sauce, salad dressing. Bleh! more
