T K Bitterman's

We hopped across the street from the West Alabama Ice House to check out what was going on at TK Bitterman's... I don't know why that always happens. I guess one stiff drink while we wait for the cab is never a terrible idea. Unfortunately we were not waiting for a cab... or having stiff drinks... but beer before our trek across town on foot would have to do. Another bar I can't really describe... whether this is due to state of mine or it being nondescript, I do not know. The front porch is handy, I guess.The bartender guy wasn't overly friendly... more friendly neutral I'd say... which is just as bad as being unpleasant. My buddy wanted a souvenir from his travels and the dude wouldn't even budge, it was upsetting and my friend pouted for a good 15 minutes because of it. If WAIH weren't there, I'd never go. But if you're in the area, and you didn't bring a bottle for the ice house, you might as well swing in for your whiskey fix. more

On a previous visit on 7/1/2009 we had a awful experience when our favorite waiter Sarah was off duty. The fill in person a male waiter was absolutely disgusting. Did not get the orders correct, complained and bickered when we let him know of the mistakes. Our group of 7 had 4 eating 3 had drinks of cocktails or beer and the bill was $ 133.00 and he could not split it because of his math abilities and then got it all wrong. Chased me down like I was a running out on the check. claiming I owed another $ 13, after this horrible experience none of our group will every return if Sarah is not there. The waiter has also been known to vacuum while we are eating and won't stop when asked to. ""NEVER AGAIN"" AND THATS A FACT JACK! We want Sarah back..... I have been going to this bar for over a year and I love it. When I walk in now, everyone knows my name and I feel comfortable. Dave, the bartender, is quick with a smile, a stiff drink, and advice (if you need it). I usually go after work, but this place can be fun on weekends also. We just moved to the neighborhood, and thought we would check out the night life. We walked into Bittermans for a drink they did not say hello or offer us a drink. We sat around waiting for about 10 min. My boyfriend went to the bar to get some drinks for everyone, and they were all so rude. We got our drinks finally, drank them and left. We have never had such bad service at any bar. Never again will we go there. more
