not so great 2/26/2007

Swork Coffee tends to get quite loud with the coffee machines, the chattering guests, and the kids play area. When there are too many people, the place definitely takes on a claustrophobic feeling. The drinks are a bit rich, but the chai tea is wonderful. Their cleanliness isn't great. I've brought this to their attention before, and when I returned a few days later, the thick layer of dirt and dust below the pastry cases was still left untouched. I guess they don't care. more

Coffee. People. Love. 6/14/2006

I was the Creative Director for Swork all 2005 and having a great latte became something I took for granted. Now that I work in an industrial district where the closest cup of any coffee is a 3 mile drive, I realize how much I appreciate a really good cup of coffee. The beans are fresh, they actually care about keeping the espresso machine clean and the espresso sweet and they bother to learn your name and your "usual" order. Best of all they take criticism and use it to really learn about their business, so if you ever have a complaint you can take it to the manager or straight to the owner and they really listen and care about what you have to say. I can't wait until their franchise program is off the ground and I can have a Swork closer to home. more

Something other than Starbucks 4/16/2006

Swok is an personal coffee place that defintely would compete with starbucks if it were more publicized. The place there really made me refuse to leave if had not been for a more pressing appointment. The service is incredible, and the couches are extremely comfortable. It were not so far away from my apartment, I would defintely come here more often for their hot chocolate. more

Swork changed and thus I'm sad 4/12/2006

I used to love Swork. I went there everyday with a couple of friends and they loved it especially since there is free wireless internet access with the purchase of a delicious eagle roca (which has little bits of almond roca) or the mint one with a peppermint patty on the bottom of my cup for a surprsing treat. But recently, the employees are different and the coffee is just too sweet (note: I am notorious for having a sweet tooth and if I say it's TOO SWEET then it must be..). Maybe I'm just sick and tired of the place since I practically made it a ritual to go there.. but if you are a newcomer to the Eagle Rock area and want to try some good cup of coffee instead of the token Starbucks then you should just try it. I'll just hit the Coffee Bean in Glendale (they give free honey sticks) more

Is There Really More to Life Than Just Starbucks 3/26/2006

The first time that I ever went to Swork was when I was in middle school and they had just opened! I don't know if everything is still the same but I absolutely loved it then! The drinks are great and they even have computers for you to use if you don't want to bring your laptop in. Oh and they have so many different flavors of honey stuck in straws (kind of like pixy sticks) that my friends and I were completely addicted to! There was watermellon flavored honey and so many other weird flavors of honey straws that we just loved! (We might've even loved the honey more than the drinks!) more

swork coffee 1/13/2006

swork coffee is seriously one of my favorite places to grab something to drink. the drinks are delicious and i prefer theirs to starbucks anyday. also, the atmosphere here is just wonderful and very relaxed. there's also a small children's area where parents can watch their children play quietly while they have a drink. more

Local, full service and kid friendly... 8/26/2005

Quiet and comfortable, there is even a play area in the back for the kids, this is the essential local coffee shop. Good regular and expresso coffee, pastrires too even wi-fi. Full of personality , lets just say that this is the reason for the coffee chains to improve their quality. more

good coffee 8/9/2005

Located on the corner of Eagle Rock and Colorado, swork is a prime place for a coffee house. If you are looking for a place to get coffee and is tired of starbucks that is across the street, go to swork. They have a wide variety of coffee and juice drinks. They have gift cards. Bring your lap top and get free broadband. Parking is hard to find. good price on all items. seating available inside or outside. more
